My mother used Mike's pump to install a pump they re-built. After only 2 years, it went out. I told them it was the pump. Here's why we're giving a 1-star: 1st - They mis-diagnosed as an electrical problem, causing us to hire an electrician ($150). 2nd - They then mis-diagnosed as a bad controller, replaced with a new one, and threw away the old one ($350) 3rd - They replaced the pump with a "rebuilt" one, which the tech said they just removed from another install. After I tried to negotiate . They Refunded the Electrician fee, but would not budge on the $350 timer (which is only $100 for identical at Home Depot). They charged $350 for the old pump as well. Called mike's pump and irrigation to fix my irrigation system. They fixed nothing, the work they did accomplished nothing as a matter of fact it made things worse. They fixed nothing . After they fixed " the system they said I needed additional work to have everything working right. The price was outrageous and fortunately I found a great local guy who not only fixed everything but charged me a third of what Mike's quoted me. I'd never recommend Mike's for anything. Had my entire irrigation system overhauled. They installed a drip line system in my beds front and back. Established new heads to water the grass. The work they did was professional and they stay until the job is done right. I would highly suggest them for all your pump and irrigation needs. read more

Let me start by saying I have used Mike for years. He was honest and dependable and did great work. Over the last year it's gone down hill. I am not sure if it was Covid or issues as he scaled up. Like someone else posted here, having him not bid for a job is a HUGE mistake. Since I have used him for years happily, I just trusted him to do work and it would be fair. I started a large job with him that he mis managed. He had 5 guys there for days when most of the time his guys were not doing anything but standing around. Normally I trusted him to bill accordingly since this was his mismanagement. Well I was wrong, he billed max rate for every man hour, never told me a job worth a few thousand had ballooned to over $13k. I should have known in the middle when I asked him to bid for the landscaping, and his bid came out 40% higher than ANYONE else, something was wrong. He complained about how Covid-19 drained him, and how $@#$ up he was from it. Either way, $13k later for a job that if managed right would have been half as much, has cost us our relationship and my future buisness. Now I have Myers fixing some of the things he missed. Having said that, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HIIM BID everything and hold him to the bid. It truly feels like he is looking to cash in customers before he retires, and if he continues operating like he has for the last few months, he will continue to destroy what has taken him years to build up. I wish him luck and hope that he chooses a different path, but going forward I will not have him do any work at our restaurants. read more

Mike and his entire team were incredibly professional and some of the hardest working folks I have seen in a long time. His cost for the sprinkler system installation was about half of the other estimate we received, and he was able to schedule the work within a couple of weeks. The other company said they couldn't get to our project for a couple of months. All of the materials used were quality products. I interviewed 4 irrigation contractors to put in a new irrigation system where one had not existed before. The entire experience with Mike's Pump & Irrigation was nothing short of excellent! From the initial conversation with his receptionist Trisha, to the crew, to the finished product; I am very happy. Trisha was very professional, polite, and personable. Mike showed on time to review the project and was prompt to get me the estimate. Each day the crew showed (with or without the boss) they were on time and extremely helpful. On the first day, Mike saw some other items unrelated to the job and told me that he could fix or improve upon what I had. One such item was a down spot on my gutter that was not draining properly. He suggested that while he had the trencher, his crew could bury drainage pipe to allow the water to flow away from the house and out to ditch. I had also planned on putting in two outside electrical receptacles; to move my trailer to the side lot, and to extend a French drain. He said "Harold, we can do all of this for you; let me work up a quote." The quote was very reasonable and all completed in far less time then it could have taken me. His three-man crew (Nick aka "Fabio," Mike and Mike) worked together not only with precession, but professionalism too. I never heard a bad word out of their mouth. Terrible customer service. My HOA hired them and since day one I have been having an issue, the way they have one sprinkler shutting straight into my porch and ruined my expensive patio furniture as it is well smelly water and a couple of other sprinklers into my side walls destroying the paint. I have been waiting for almost a month for them to come over and fix them and nothing. I will NEVER use them if it was chosen based on the quality of work and customer response we have experienced over the past 4 weeks. Shop around and use someone else. read more

I do NOT recommend Mike's Pump and Irrigation. We were looking to meet with them to discuss a pretty big project for our neighborhood HOA. Twice, Mike tried to schedule meetings with me with only 10 minutes notice, which is unprofessional and inconvenient. Then his office called me in the morning to set up an appointment for that same afternoon; I agreed, since it was the most notice they'd given me and I needed to get started on this project. I waited for Mike to arrive at our agreed upon time, in the heat with my two young children, for 20 minutes. I finally decided to call the office to check how much longer he would be and they told me he was held up at another job. He did not give me a courtesy call to inform me, he basically just bailed. When I first purchased my new home in Viera I found that the irrigation system wasn't working properly. A few neighbors strongly recommended Mike's Pump and Irrigation, a small family owned business that had been successful for about 30 years here in Brevard. I called and tried to make an appointment. Unfortunately, with Viera and the surrounding areas growing exponentially, Mike could no longer take on new clients. (Again, this is a small family-run business). Since then I have been through a series of irrigation companies. Many are "well-known and recognizable" within the county. But it seems these companies are focused more on profit rather than customer satisfaction. They talk a good game and make necessary adjustments and improvements (at a substantial price) "for the first visit or two," but then seem to slack off and send unqualified employees. So . . . I tried Mike again. Long story short. I have been extremely happy with this small company. The job gets done right and, more importantly, the work ethics are top notch. Mike's might not be a mega company with tons of employees and same day service, but he is indeed worth the wait. I agreed to a $350.00 timer install and ended up with a $3,204.67 invoice! Mike quoted $350.00 for a timer installed with labor and a checkout of all the sprinkler heads. He only hooked up 6 of my existing zones and left 1/3 of the lawn without water. He installed or replaced (without my knowledge or consent) my sprinkler heads and charged more than $775.00 for sprinkler heads! The total number of sprinkler heads charged is dozens more than I have on the entire property! There was a peculiar electronics smell right after he hooked up the timer. The next thing I notice is the junction box had caught on fire and completely burned! He charged me $375.00 ($200.00 in labor) to replace my junction box that he was responsible for burning! And this was after I let it be known I was not going to pay for a new junction box. He replaced the junction box and an outlet and then charged me without ever notifying me of the cost or the fact he was going to charge me. He never consulted with me before doing anything and then padded the bill and fabricated parts and labor. He showed up unscheduled and without notice (without his crew, early in the morning) with no explanation. This man and his company are not to be trusted! He did not give me a written estimate and did not give me any indication he was going to charge more than the agreed upon price of $350.00 read more
