I've been getting my hair cut by Kendra for almost four years now…read more It took me years to find someone after my long time cosmotologist moved out of state. Kendra is prompt and does a great job. I love a great shampoo with a little extra massage of my scalp, and let me tell you, Kendra never skimps on her time. Her personality is still as upbeat and positive as the first day I met her. I appreciate her understanding that I have my service dog, and keep him confined in businesses out of courtesy to others; and that it does not bother her that I wear a mask. She's very supportive and kind with regard to both and I wish I could give her an extra star!! Lastly, she did cut my mom's hair a few years ago, my mom has dementia and cannot get out any longer, but my mom still remembers Kendra and her kindness.

A Hidden Gem on Grant: Finally Found the Stylist Who Made Growing Out Grey Hair Easy!…read more At 55 I decided to stop dyeing, cut it all off military short, and embrace the grey. Six months later I was stuck with an uneven mullet and scared to let anyone touch it. I've had amazing cuts over the years and disasters so bad I hid under a hat for months. Then I stumbled into a little barber shop on Grant Avenue in Novato and met Malalai. With 40 years of experience, she listened, was patient, and shaped my hair step by step. I walked out with a style I love and confidence to keep growing it out. She's proof that experience, patience, and kindness beat fancy salons every time.

The birthday treat my dad didn't know he needed--Hollz at The Parlor Room gave him the full royal…read moretreatment, and we left with a memory we'll never forget. I treated my 85-year-old dad to "the works," and it turned out to be so much more than just a haircut. Hollz has created a true gem--an old-school barbershop experience with modern kindness and charm. My dad was very resistant at first (his idea of a treat is Supercuts), but this was full-on pampering: haircut, shave, hot towels--the works. ‍ And Hollz? She's the best part. * Warm, fun, incredibly personable--and meticulous with every detail--she made him feel like a million bucks. * She really knows her craft. She has all the right tools and knew exactly how to work with older skin, even skipping the straight razor to avoid irritation. * Her communication was great--we had to reschedule once and were late the day of, and she handled it all with grace. * You can tell she genuinely cares. She took her time, put him at ease, and even brought me into the process by explaining what she was doing. It felt like a celebration, not an errand. You only live once--and even a Supercuts guy deserves the royal treatment sometimes.

First off, I went in a couple of weeks ago and was not happy. YELP just pinged me for a review,…read morehence the delay. The haircut took 45 minutes, and he just did a fade on the sides. Didn't even cut the top, per my request, BUT 45 minutes? Good lord. I was the only one in there, so it wasn't like they were busy. The guy would NOT stop talking. Secondly, $40 for a haircut? Seriously? Not sure if they charge by the minute or what, but that's ridiculous. Yelp said the pricing was $18, so obviously, that was incorrect. I didn't know until it was over. The haircut wasn't even very good, and the fade had dark spots in multiple areas once I showered. I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Thirdly, I had to throw away my shirt because on the straight razor shave around my neck, he nicked me. I bled for a while, even after I left. I didn't have any moles or anything so not sure what happened, but he didn't tell me and when I left I scratched my neck and there was blood all over my hand. Save your money and go to SUPERCUTS or somewhere else. $40 is not reasonably priced at all.
