You may…read morehave a great experience the first time you go and even the second time but sometimes on the 3rd or 4th visit, the great service you originally had goes downhill--that is not the case with this shop. I've been here several times for various things from an oil change to installing new motor mounts and each time I come in, the service is just as good as the first time I was here. I'm not from Florida, we moved down here from NYC so I had not owned a car in well over a decade. I bought a used one and then brought it in to Honest-1 Auto for an inspection to see if there was anything major wrong with it. The first person I dealt with was Willie Vazquez, the General Manager. I spoke to him over the phone, he got me in right away. I should've brought the car in before I purchased it, luckily there wasn't anything majorly wrong with it but I didn't know that. If Willie were dishonest, he could've said there was something wrong with it and I probably would've gone ahead and paid to have it 'fixed' because I would not have known any better. I appreciate his honesty. I also met George Maajoun the Service Advisor. He's straightforward with prices and cost of labor etc. I've never gotten blindsided by a last minute extra charge or "added fees". My repairs always cost exactly what George tells me they will cost. I appreciate that. It's hard to budget for car repairs when the shop you're dealing with keeps upping the cost, that won't happen to you here. This shop is the most honest one I've ever been to! An honest auto repair shop is like a 'Rare White Elk', they exist but the chances of ever encountering one are slim. Happy to report you have a 'Rare White Elk' here in Carrollwood! Check them out, you won't be disappointed!

However the response was that they don't install parts purchased from the customer . I had a follow up with a question which was why don't they install parts pre purchased - because I'd like to have a warranty on my parts . The response was "we don't provide warranty " , which I knew they wouldn't provide warranty on my parts since I pre purchased my part with its own warranty and they didn't answer if they do provide warranty on their own parts and labor . My main question was why don't they install pre purchased parts and I was hoping they gave me another option alternative option. It was a missed opportunity was they didn't give me another option for the service, such as offering me warranty on parts and labor if I used their service/business . Maybe even educating me as a future client as to the why their business doesn't do that . Overall the response was quick but my question wasn't answered . They do offer the service but didn't really offer anything after I said I had pre purchased a part . Thanks anyways for the quick response!

I was greeted by Kwon who is a fantastic gentleman, and he guided me through the process of getting a post purchase inspection. After receiving my diagnosis, I decided to do one repair, and they fixed my car right up. And Mike informed me of things to be aware of. Great customer service! My only gripe and it's such a pet peeve of mine when going to Independent Shops, is the lack of grounds-keeping. Immediately after leaving the shop I hear the dreaded sound of a nail in my tire, and immediately became so frustrated that I was ready to forget the incredible service up until then. The lack of professionalism to leave loose nails around is a killer, and you definitely wouldn't run into that problem when at a BMW dealership. When oversight like this happens, it makes you wonder if other careless mistakes are made when working on the vehicle. I'm not saying that is the case, but you can't help but wonder.

Before finding them, I had been through sooo many mechanics that over-charged - and that I could NOT trust. I can honestly say that I totally trust Butch's Auto....I drive out of my way from Clearwater because they are totally worth the drive. On one occassion, my car was giving me trouble, and I thought for sure it would cost me big $$....but, Butch informed me that it was a simple fix and he did NOT EVEN CHARGE me!!! When I told his wife Sharon how amazed I was - she said "We answer to a Higher Power" Praise GOD! The largest cost was the transmission flush for $978. They added a four-wheel alignment service for $157 that Discount Transmission Center didn't charge me for at all. Toyota also said I need to have my evap core cleaner done for $97 and Dave explained that was just an upsell and was not necessary. I'm so glad I did not get my service at Toyota but I was recommend to speak with Dave at Discount Transmission Center aka DT Automotive Services . He performed all the same services Toyota was offering. He also added a service to do a coolant flush for my radiator that he recommends every 50k miles. I brought my paperwork from Toyota with everything they said they checked as needing service. Dave looked over all the same things Toyota inspected, so he can feel confident I was getting the correct maintenance. Dave said the total cost was $392.14. I wanted to cry because it was a huge savings. Praise God for mechanics that can still be trusted, regardless of your knowledge with vehicles. I completely recommend this shop for anybody and they have made a new long-term customer for life along with everyone I recommend. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP -- TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE…read more The owner, Dave, has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. My wife and I brought our 2005 F-150 King Ranch to his shop for a transmission rebuild. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into 7 weeks of repeated problems and FIVE separate tows back to his shop for continued repairs to the very transmission his shop rebuilt. The truck is now completely inoperable. Initially, the shop failed to replace the valve body. From there, the truck repeatedly came back with more problems than it had before. Every time we picked it up, Dave assured us, "You're golden." Unfortunately, those assurances meant very little when the repairs repeatedly lasted less than three days before the truck began severely malfunctioning again. After seven weeks, countless headaches, and multiple breakdowns, we were left with a truck that still doesn't run properly. Despite everything we went through, Dave refused to provide a refund, leaving us with no choice but to pursue the matter through the courts. This has cost us significant time, money, and frustration. A reputable shop should stand behind its work and take responsibility when repeated repairs fail. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle somewhere else. Save yourself the time, money, and headache we've experienced. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.

After looking at reviews on Yelp and Next Door, I decided to give him a call. Mark understood the OBD code issues immediately over the phone and asked me to bring the vehicle over the next morning. About an hour after leaving the vehicle with him, he called and confirmed the problem. He gave me a VERY FAIR price to make the repairs (almost $400 less than the dealership), but said that a couple of the dealerships he called did not have the part in stock and would take 4 days to get. He also said that if I wanted to make more calls and find the part before then, he'd install it and only charge me for the labor. I found ONE dealership within 50 miles that had the part, and fortunately, it was only about 20 miles away. I got the part and he installed it the same day. The wastegate actuator assembly cost me $350 and Mark charged me $110 for labor. He tested the vehicle out and told me to bring it back if there were any issues. I can honestly say that I've found my new mechanic for the maintenance issues I can't do myself. Highly Recommend!!!
