My family has always gone here for general servicing and repairs, and when I got my own car I naturally followed suit. But my experiences have been a little different.. I booked in my car for a normal service a couple of years ago, and was treated by a middle aged male like a typical blonde bimbo dropping ofher car for a reason she didn't even know. But I am not stupid, I know a little about cars, and even more about customer service! A belt in my car had broken and the RAA came and checked it out and said to take it to a mechanic and ask why it broke and get it fixed etc. When I asked why it broke,my response was 'it just did'. Um well what made it break? Is something else wrong? But no he continued to tell me about how things wear (duh) and explained to me like a 2 year old what the belt looks like and what its made of etc. Anyway, just fix the god damn thing and take my money and don't expect to see me again was pretty much my response. Needless to say, I haven't gone back, but haven't found a better mechanic either (read my review of Plaza Holden, it's worse!).

Just down the road from the ABC building on Northeast Road, this small business is located back off the road. Enter through the service station and nip down the side alley - just behind the car yard, you'll find Ashley. This is the place all the staff from the ABC (and I'm sure other businesses in the area) have their cars serviced - trust me I went to Ashley for years when I worked there. I don't have a mechanical bone in my body so I wouldn't know if I needed new brakes, an oil change or my car just needed a clean and that's why I need a good mechanic. If you're looking for an honest, hard working mechanic who will service your car promptly and not charge you for a lot of unnecessary work, go and visit Ashley. You won't regret it.

To this date I have only run out of fuel once, and most of the time, it is thanks to EZY Fuels on OG road and its locality half way between my place and my parents! Although this is one of my local servos I would travel further if required to get here for two reasons. Firstly it is one of the two cheapest stations in town (the other directly across the road). The second reason is that it is under independent ownership, one of very few around the city. Once in a while there is a story on the local news about the price war between this station and it's rival across the way, and they are consistently the cheapest around...so make sure if you are in the area and need to fill up, get on the local boy.

The only star good enough for the OG Shop proprietor is a Ninja's throwing star. The OG Speed shop…read moreproprietor doesn't repay refundable deposits. I paid a deposit for a clean and rebuild job that turned into a 3 month wait just to be told the mechanic couldn't do the job and be given a box of pieces. When I asked for my deposit the OG shop proprietor declined to refund the money. The Proprietor made a lot of promises about his abilities but at no stage lived up to his promises. The OG shop proprietor turned out to be a deceptive loud-mouthed time-wasting con-artist and, given he didn't return my refundable deposit, he is a thief. Do not go into the OG Speed shop. Do not seek mechanical services from the OG Speed Shop. At best, you may seek to use the OG Speed Shop as a toilet or a spitoon.

I took one of my cars to him as I had no oil pressure in the engine, the breaks needed attention also to fit an accelerator cable which I supplied. I told them I don't have oil leaks now & don't want oil leaks when I pick it up. When I went to pick the car up I wanted to start it to make sure there were no oil leaks & that it ran okay before the toe truck arrived, I asked a number of times to no avail, I waited well over an hour as they didn't book the toe truck that I paid for, No fault on the towing Co they were great. They arrived & the car went up on the truck, I still haven't managed to start the car I got car to destination hassle free, when we got it off the truck I went to start it NOTHING I phoned OG speed shop ( the owner) & told him it doesn't start, he said it didn't when I took it there, well it did that's how I knew it had no oil pressure. Long story short. He left wires unconnected hence wouldn't start, oil pored out of the engine and it wasn't clean new oil as I put in it, it was a brown graphite looking oil & the breaks didn't work and he put a different accelerator cable on charged me for it & kept the new one I supplied. I've told a number of people about my dealings with OG speed shop & have come across a number of people that have had a bad experience also hmmmmm I will never return & will never recommend them
