These carwashes have been popping up absolutely everywhere lately! Luckily I have one right near me…read moreso I can easily pop in and get a full car clean easily. The first time I went here I had a web deal coupon for 2 full maxi washes for the half price of 1, which was awesome. This Flufferz books in ridiculously quick, especially on weekends; I had to book mine in for like 3 weeks away. But when I got there I was very impressed, it was very easy to organise and I plonked myself down in the outside cafe area with my hot chocolate in the sun and read a magazine. Admittedly it took almost an hour and a half, but the car looked spick and span, with my tyres blacker than ever and the silver paint so metallic! I was very impressed and will definitely take my car there for the whole hog every couple of months, but just allow a bit of time for the magic to happen.

From the owner: The Soft Touch tunnel is the safest, softest way to wash your car and it may surprise you to learn,…read moreit is better and gentler for your car than traditional hand washing! This is because pieces of dirt and microsopic grit particles embed within the fibres of rags, dusters and sponges you use. Even when you rinse them in the bucket, you cannot remove all the fragments and when you wipe over the surface again, you scratch the fine paint duco on your car. Over repeated washes, the scratches get deeper and deeper until they are visible to the naked eye and quite upsetting for the car owner who has spent many hours washing and polishing their beloved vehicle. In America, tests have been conducted to determine the effect of various car washing techniques on a vehicle. The tests showed that a single home handwash can produce scratches that penetrate as deep as 1/10th of the total thickness of the paint on your car! These tests, conducted by the University of Texas at Arlington, substantiated tests done over ten years ago by the Technical University of Munich, Germany, in association with Mercedes-Benz, which at that time showed similar damage done to an automobile when using detergent and low water volume commonly found in your garden hose as well as sponges and towels used to dry. Tests also showed that hand washing can reduce surface reflectance whereas cars washed in a professional tunnel wash such as Soft Touch Speedwash, show virtually no change in shine readings.

These people are auto Detailers. They wash and polish your car and give it a full makeover. They…read moretarget their service to those folk who own and operate a top end prestige car, and who do not have the time or the inclination to zip out to such a thing as a do it yourself car wash. They are people who feel their car is like their calling card or in some cases an extension of their penis, something to be admired for it's unique shape and aerodynamic prowess; it's speed and agility on the road is supposed to add value to the myth of their own personality. So these folk do not seek to wash the car themselves. Think of Edina Monsoon from Absolutely Fabulous chastising her daughter Saffron by saying "You don't want your mother to be a normal toilet going mother do you? Where's mum? On the toilet!" the idea being such mundane tasks are for lower class people and those with minimal status and credibility. Well these are the types of people who will roll their ninety five thousand dollar car in for it to be detailed by experts who consider the finish and upholstery to be penultimate to life itself. I'm only partly kidding. I think the price is probably reflective of the targeted customer and the value of the car and the actual preciousness of the main resource that ends up being used - water. A lot of water goes down the drain at Spotless, and I'm sure they'd be paying for that as a once off, as I can't see how they'd be recycling it. All in all the service seems busy and it is close to the trendy part of town, Central Markets; so there are plenty of prestige cars getting a good hard rub. Lots of people coming along for the service I'm sure. They charge up to five hundred dollars for a full detail on a 'people mover' - that's one of those largish mini bus types of vehicles, but then you can get a service for about one hundred as well, so you will probably want to chat with the boss and scrutinise the costings to discover exactly what you get for the price. You can also get paint protection, like some kind of an invisible condom over your paint job I guess, and they will remove pet hair, tint windows and ... well you go and check out the list of things they'd do on the website or give them a call, I'm starting to feel like a pimp.

I'm a bit of a stinge when it comes to cleaning my car. This event occurs approximately once year…read moreand only when it smells like something has died inside it. Yes I am very lazy. I refuse to spend heaps of money going through a car wash and getting someone to quickly clean inside. Instead I use this car wash. You get to use all of their equipment. Super strength vacuums, high-pressure sprays, a detergent that smells like bubblegum and even tyre polish. There are also lots of other cleaning materials available to purchase in a vending machine. If you do a thorough job it will take you a maximum of 45minutes (and that's how long it takes me to do my disgustingly dirty car!). I like to think this way is a lot cheaper, however, I have my doubts. Everything takes gold coins, which then gives a limited amount of time to use each piece of equipment. I end up spending a good $15-$20 altogether. This is cheaper than getting someone else to do it, but not heaps.

Driving from Melbourne or Sydney, invariably my car would end up being filthy, and so I'd stop here and give it the once-over. I didn't go too mental on it, I'd spend about ten bucks and have it looking alright, and I'd be on my way. There aren't many things that this place could do better, but having a team of trained monkeys doing the cleaning would be good, because I hate doing it.

It does have a touch free automatic laser wash here as well as 4 self service wash bays, each with a vaccuum station in between them. The only tips I can give you is take plenty of $1 and $2 coins to operate everything, especially if you want to do all the interior as well, and if you use the laserwash - make sure you pick a wash with the tri coloured wax. When you are in there and it starts squirting the wax onto your car, turn your fan on high to pull the air from outside the car. It smalls like bubblegum and the smell fills the car so you don't need to buy air freshener as well. My kids always want to come with me just for this part.

I would've used the automatic car wash but I really wasn't planning on spending $14 on a car wash, so I did my own thing and spent on $2. There are about ten cleaning options to choose from including one to wash the tyres, a soapy option, a wax option, high pressure, rinse, etc. If I went back there today I know I'd struggle again with remembering what to do.
