So apparently my car is a magnet for sharp pointy things on the road. In fact, I have had to get new tires twice this year. It really sucks. I really wonder how this stuff gets onto the road in the first place. Both times it was a screw or nail. Must be stuff flying off the back of tradies utes. Nonetheless, tires are not cheap. Lucky that some tires can be repaired. This is a great option if the tire is almost brand new with a puncture. If you get a good tire specialist, they will let you know if it can be repaired. But be sure to ask them to check. This Bob Jane is under new management. There is one bad review here, but I was informed that only in the last months a new business owner bought it out. And my experience was very different than described by the other reviewer James K. I was dealt with in a professional manner, they staff member was happy to look into helping me repair the tire rather than replace it. They checked all my tires for road safety and even switched around the tires to give me even wear. The whole service took around an hour. They had a waiting room, but without a television or radio. I think they were refurbishing it. Might be a good idea to keep people entertained while they wait. As for myself, I was fine as I had my laptop to work. They repaired my tire and a grand total of $45 and a handshake. I will return here to replace my tires when they are ready to be replaced. I really liked that I was treated with respect. Decided to lash out on a really good set of tyres for my Audi so did a lot of research before contacting these guys because I'm usually budget-minded (and my eyes start watering easily). Typically, i steer clear of the big chains but decided to ring because they were reasonably close. I found them very helpful on the phone. so I dropped in next time I drove past. Price and information were good so decided to go for it and reach for the eye drops. Needn't have worried, however, as the service was excellent, all the staff were courteous and professional and I watched them really take their time and do a thorough job through the service window. In summary, the interaction, advice and service were really good, the tyres have transformed the car and all at a very competitive price (so my eyes have even stopped watering). My review of these guys will not be great. Get a comfy chair and some chips then read on. A few years ago I went to these guys, I was a uni student and didn't have heaps of money. I'm not an irresponsible spender and I'm a hard worker, so even at uni, I could pay my bills. I had a small 4cyl car t that needed new tyres...badly! They were going eggy and bouncing. I called up, got a decent price and went down to get my tired tires changed. Once I got there, I was informed that they didn't have my type of tyres in stock, this is after they had my car an hour. The guy also said for the price of my tires I'd be better off getting a wheels package and showed me through a heap. I had mags already, but these new ones looked amazing for my little sporty Hyundai, and for my trouble I got a discount, I paid... Then was told I'd get a call when they got them in...a bit annoyed but compliable, I went home and waited for them to arrive. A week later I went in to drop my car, go to uni and get my car on the way home. This is tricky to do when you're not a bus person. (country lad). I finished uni, came back to the shop and the owner told me that the stud pattern was wrong, and there was only one pair in Aus that could fit. Again, annoyed, I went home and waited. 4 days, I went in early, got my wheels changed, and they looked good. Finally. Got in my car and discovered it was nearly undriveable, but I needed to get to uni. After uni, I returned and told them they'd forgotten something, and destroyed the alignment. They fixed this and I was in my way, exhausted by the ordeal as I only came in there to get new tyres. I then went on a road trip over the Easter break along the Great ocean road with a mate. One night I was unpacking and discovered that my spare tyre had been taken from my boot. I didn't get a flat on the trip, but what if I did?! Changing a tyre is pretty hard when it's 700k's away. Eventually I went back to the shop, and told them. The owner walked around the yard and couldn't find it. I got to keep my old mags, so I just got the best one and put it where the spare used to be. Recently I was out of options, super busy at work and hadn't changed my tyres, got a defect notice to get them fixed. I work close by so it was convenience more than anything. Different car, different people, easier and quicker process... But my car didn't streer straight after the most recent purchase. Don't go here. read more
