My husband has begged me to cut it myself, which I just can't bring myself to do. After moving from my only trusted stylist in California, I have finally found relief here at Sabina's hair salon. The stylist Soon was beautifully concentrated on her craft. I could easily tell this woman was an artist, not someone just going through the motions. After the initial cut, she thoroughly adjusted to an additional request. Soon was gently inquisitive, and had a wonderfully calm demeanor as she was intent on her craft. And the price? An absolute steal. Ignore the strip mall appearance - that's just Clark Kent's glasses. You're looking for your new go-to? Get you an appointment here, sis!!

I apologize for being in their shop and for not knowing little black boys were aloud to get their hair cut there. The stylist blocked the entrance and told me I should look on Facebook for a Moms group and ask them where they get their children's Hair done and that a hair cut from this barber shop was to expensive for me and that it would only be affordable if I got a membership and had his hair cut 3 times a week. My Son was so excited to get his hair cut and to be turned away like that for no reason was criminal. I promise I will never come back to Moon Valley because I see that there are color barriers for service even against children. He shaped it to a long point on my chin. And kept just my chin long. And he cut my mustache that I didn't want cut in the first place. Then he kept pushing to cut my head hair that I always cut myself. After enough of him asking I finally gave in. It cost me 40$ for both top of head and beard. Didn't know what he really did yet and tipped him another 10$. When I got home and really looked at it I was pissed. That's 50$ for a chopped cut that I ended up just cutting everything down all to one length when I got home. 6 months of growth, chopped up, gone. For what he did for 50$, I could have done a better job myself at home for free. What a rip off. I am so pissed.

This is one of my more ironic reviews as I'm a proud patron of the Self-Serve Salon. However, I…read moredid attend the Corey Michael's Grand Opening party that was pretty awesome. We arrived at the salon right at the start of the party, to which we quickly found the drinks and sushi. Liquor was Grey Goose Orange and Dos Equis. Sushi was from Maiko just down the street, and we quickly found the chopsticks and plates. The sushi was run of the mill, but what was nice were $5 gift cards to Maiko scattered about the salon. The salon itself is very nicely decorated with clean, modern look. Even the salon chairs weren't horribly ugly. You know what I'm talking about. Somehow, the decor all fit well nicely. My one complaint, that may be a moot point during normal salon business hours, is the lack of bathrooms. I didn't use the bathrooms there, but there was a huge line the entire time. In addition to the sushi, Sullivan's catered some appetizers. Cheese, crab cakes, filet mignon, and giant prawns (shrimp) were served. We took a seat and waited as these four selections were brought to us over and over again. My favorites were the filet mignon with red pepper aioli and giant prawns with a spicy cocktail sauce. My companion's favorite was the filet mignon. The ladies serving the appetizers presented us with cards for free bar entrees at Sullivan's. They said we looked like their type of customers, good eaters. I agree. Companion and I both like to eat. I'd say we were pretty spoiled - drinks, good food, and entertainment by other party patrons. There was a certain magazine writer that provided entertainment and data for my research. My companion even said that he would get his hair cut here if he was served food and drinks during his visit. Good Job, Corey. We may come back sometime in the near future. We'd like the filet mignon and prawns please.
