We got stuck at the Fresno airport with a flight delay and there's no food there. Lisa and her husband saved our day. My two sons, ages 7 and 9, are super picky especially about Mexican food because we live 45 minutes from the border and we spend a lot of time in Mexico. Lisa and her husband drove out of their way to the Fresno airport to drop off carne asada tacos and a bean burrito and fresh salsa. The food was so good. My nine year old said, "these tacos are legit!" My seven year old said, "these tacos taste like Mexico." Definitely recommend their food. We really kind of stumbled on this delicious little gem! We stopped at "Peacock Market" in Clovis for a grocery item, with plans for a quick lunch stop after. Stepping inside, we discovered several vendors. Miguel's peaked our interest so, lunch won out! I had a taco that was the best I've had in Fresno/Clovis. My husband tried the loaded burrito. Had been seeing Miguel's salsa hyped up on instagram and checked Yelp to see great reviews, so we headed over to get a couple burritos. Firstly, the young guy taking our order was awesome - he was super friendly and was pitching the food hard, a great salesman...good service, he was patient and helpful. 5 stars for service and wait time. Ordered asada super burritos and was told Friday and Sundays they are discounted to $9.99, even better! Portion was large and food was made quickly, came very hot. However, we found the burrito to be pretty flavorless. Kudos that it wasn't sloppy or greasy, but I just couldn't taste much of anything. The asada was like nothing I'd had before, was really soft like it had been boiled? Didn't taste much seasoning on the meat, but a positive was it wasn't fatty. We could not really taste the difference in the fillings either; the onions tasted like the cabbage that tasted like the cilantro that tasted like the bland cheese and avocado. We both got the hot salsa, which was good flavor-wise, but not very spicy. Both of us gave up on eating before hitting the halfway mark on our burritos. Liked that they had a little butcher/meat case and premade salsa tubs. We got a Diablo salsa to go which I thought was a bit pricey at $7.50...hoping that maybe we just went on an "off" night, because I expected so much more from the reviews I read. However, I'm unsure if/when we will make a second attempt to be wowed by this spot. read more

I really have mixed feelings about sharing this review. I will have to share what many of you already know, Miguel's Salsa is not going to be a hidden gem for long. My wife and I went as a scouting mission to find the best authentic Mexican food in Fresno for our family and we did not get disappointed. First and always the most important is the food. It was Super Burrito's Friday. I had the Al Pastor and my wife tried the Carne Asada. The pork and beef in the burrito was perfectly marinated. The ingredients tasted fresh and had the perfect balance of acid and savory. The price q was very fair for the large portions we received. Miguel's had a cute bodega feel to it. They share the location with a grocery store, coffee shop and a third establishment. The service was spot on from the time we entered the establishment and got greeted with a smile and a sample of drinks with chips topped with Carne Asada and three different salsas. We will definitely go back with our family to try the menu more extensively. read more

My husband and I decided to try out Miguel's from a recommendation and I'm glad we did! Miguel the owner has great customer service along with the rest of his staff. He offered us a sample of the meat along with his salsas and they were delicious. I got the loaded quesadilla which was great and my husband got street tacos. So, stopped by just to get a side of rice, nothing more, nothing less. Paid guy at the counter, left the change. 15 minutes, yes 15 minutes later, still waiting for side of rice. Go up to counter ask aforementioned guy about the rice, he said, "it should be ready in a few minutes". So I asked, you mean my order will be ready or the rice will be ready? Guy said the rice will be ready. Dude, you could have mentioned that you had to cook a batch of rice, I would have just passed. But no, you make me wait 15 minutes and not even mention it will be a while? Food might be good but, if it takes "forever", why bother. So I can't review the food because I never got it. Miguel's is amazing! I've had the pleasure of enjoying the tamales from Miguel's Salsa before but today I got to try the nachos and they were amazing! I was helped by a pleasant young lady who was cheerful and guided me through the ordering process, recommending the barbacoa and medium salsa when I asked for her input. The nachos were loaded! The cheese was basic nacho cheese sauce, like you'd expect at a carnival or sporting event. But the tortilla chips were crispy and had a homemade vibe - much better quality and held the ingredients well! The meat was so flavorful and tender! The toppings also included sour cream, guacamole, and pinto beans, with a pico style salsa. The interior was clean and included a well stocked market and liquor store. There was seating with freshly wiped tables if you wanted to eat at the market, although I opted for takeout. Overall my experience was fabulous with great food and outstanding service! I can never forget when my husband had a heart attack a few months ago and I was so overwhelmed and Lisa & Miguel were there for me and my family. They texted me to see if I wanted to finally try some of their famous tamales that I kept hearing and seeing about on various social media platforms and I said I couldn't because my husband was on a strict diet and I told them what had happened to him. They in turn asked for my address so they could drop off a meal for me and the kids. They not only dropped off tacos they also included sides like rice and beans! I finally tried this place Sunday March 30. It was the best breakfast burrito that I've ever had! Not greasy at all but also not dry. You definitely won't still be hungry after having one. My wife could only eat half so she had the other half this morning. I had the Carne Asada and my wife had ham. My only complaint is that they were going to give me salsa on the side. Mild, Med, and Spicy to see which one I liked best. But when I got home they had forgotten to give me any salsa at all. That was a huge disappointment because the salsa is what they are known for. However, the burrito itself still warrants 5 stars and I WILL go back again. Next time I will just check the bag before leaving to make sure that I get salsa. I will also be going back to try the street tacos and fried tacos. I highly recommend this place. read more

This place is great! A hidden gem for sure. It was my 2nd time eating here & I'm definitely going to make it one of my regular spots. Last time my husband got an asada burrito bowl which he loved, & I had a 3 Taco Combo plate (2 chicken & 1 asada). Today it was just me eating there & I got all 3 asada because it's SO good! It's not like any other asada you can get elsewhere. It's got a super flavorful marinade/sauce on it that surprised me (in a good way) when I took my first bite. So today I knew I wanted all asada. Paired with their great house-made salsa, it was exactly what I needed. The rice is fairly standard & kinda plain, but the beans are extremely unique & super delicious! Actually, the fact that the flavor of the rice is very mild, makes it a good balance to the explosive flavors of the beans & the asada. I am looking forward to trying their tamales & their breakfast items in the future. I also heard it on good authority that they will be starting to make some Mexican Pizzas soon & I'm so excited to give them a try too. Service is friendly & owners are great people. Fantastic hidden gem inside Peacock Market. Arrived shortly before closing hoping to satisfy my husband's enchilada craving. Although the enchiladas weren't a menu item, the owner kindly said she could prepare some even offering choice of sauces, red or green. Talk about customer service, 10/10. While we waited we were offered several samples of their homemade salsas , ranging from mild to habanero hot. All had a distinct flavor with a variety of heat options and were so flavorful. The carnitas meat was perfectly seasoned and delicious. My husband said the enchiladas were great with the delicious chicken filling. We thoroughly enjoyed our quick stop and enjoyed visiting with the owner. Cant wait to go back and try their other menu items. They also cater a variety of other food items as well. Their salsas are also packaged for sale. Definitely see the pride of ownership and time and care to deliver quality and delicious food from recipes that stem from family recipes. The food quickly disappeared as it was sooooo GOOD! I ordered half traditional American and half Mexican food for a breakfast party for 30 people. The setup was gorgeously presented. The selection of cheeses and meats in the charcuterie were high end and delicious. It was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach! So many lovely comments from guests about the food. One loved the variety of things to grab and go--sausage and waffle bites, cheddar egg bites, taquitos, wonderful dips, their own salsas, bagels, cream cheese spread, jams, etc. I have nothing but good things to say about catering with Miguel and Lisa.
