The Balgrist Migros, near where I live, is tiny and sad. While perusing this jewel of a shop, I had the impression I was in a store back home as the aisles were wide, the fruit and veg area spacious, and the check stands were ample and many. Ahhhh. This outpost also boasts both butcher and cheese counters. -looking for sausages that are reminiscent of an American breakfast link? Look no further. -in search of French, raw-milk, sheep's cheese? It's here. Fortunately, I scored a can of condensed milk for my upcoming baking needs. Perhaps this Migros stocks canned pumpkin? We'll see what October brings... Sugary cereal buffs: Kellogg's dominates the breakfast cereal display with the Swiss versions of Sugar Smacks, Coco Puffs and the like. Luckily, this supermarket was just a short walk from our Airbnb. The store is well-stocked with everything from fresh produce to ready-to-eat meals. We were pleasantly surprised to find a machine that makes fresh orange juice on the spot - my SO was so impressed, he grabbed one right away! I wandered over to the chocolate aisle and was absolutely overwhelmed (in the best way). They had good deals too. So many options! I had a tough time deciding what to bring back for friends. You can pay with either card or cash, and we found the employees friendly and speaks good English. The store was never crowded during any of our visits, which made shopping even more pleasant. Definitely a convenient and well-run spot if you're staying nearby! It's very near the train station. It's clean and organized.

Migros was a solid option to get souvenirs (like chocolates and things), and also lunches pastries drinks etc. They have a great selection of fresh produce, and they also have some serve yourself salad and pastry bars, ready to go salad and pasta boxes, fresh bread, lots of variety of sodas and kombucha, ice cream etc... Pasta boxes and pastries range from 3 CHF to 10 CHF - drinks around the same range, bread as well about 3-6 CHF - if you get an Airbnb or hotel room with a kitchenette you can make breakfasts to save on picking up something from Starbucks (which could set you back about 10-15 CHF for 2 items). In all I liked Migros - and they have self check out too which works well!

Four stars for a well stocked store with a decent variety, recycling facilities, florist and not subject to overcrowding on the weekends (like many other Coops can get). It's located at the Kreuzplatz tram stop, right across from the Bohemia Restaurant. The florist is in the ground level and the recycling facilities/supermarket is in the basement level. They also offer a small hot foods area and butcher services. The dairy, produce, meat and beverage selection is sufficient. It's not as stocked up like the Sihlcity Coop (which has one of the biggest selection in the city), but then it's also not overcrowded as it can be in the weekends at the Sihlcity location. A plus with this locations that right across the street is a Migros, so if there are a few items that you want is only sold via Migros, you can kill two birds with one stone in this vicinity. Additionally, there is also a Denner's across the street, but I don't think that is of comparable quality to Coop.
