I was travelling to the Valley on a nasty winter day and had a flat tire while in HRM. After being…read moreturned away by 10 tire shops (including Portland Street Honda where I purchased the vehicle new less than a year ago and the winter tires less than two weeks ago), I was driving by Gary Murphy Automotive and decided that I'd try one last time. Although they were busy, they didn't hesitate to help me out and had me on my way in less than an hour. Very friendly and prompt service. They renewed my faith in business in Halifax/Dartmouth. Please give these folks your business.

Dropped truck off aug 31. Absolutely the worst mechanic I have ever been to. Told me it would be…read more1-2 days to look at vehicle as I could have towed it to several other places. They lied about their workload and avoided my voicemail and repeated unanswered calls for 2 weeks until I showed up in person with a tow truck. He had my work order right next to the secretary when I walked in and said what I needed and that it was back ordered. Made me lose 2 weeks of work pay not knowing what was going on with my vehicle and that it would be months waiting. Said I needed coolant lines for overheating and just rear tires for the MVI. Had my truck for 3 1/2 months and gave me it back without the MVI done and it being undriveable....He told me all I needed for MVI was two rear tires in October when mvi was up. I dropped tires off and the next 5 calls I made to him the secretary kept saying she didn't know the mvi needed to be done. 5 times in a row! Upon thrm saying my truck was ready for pickup, ai asked if thr MVI was done. He gave me a list of 10 things that needed to be done for MVI and my truck was not road safe! He took my wheel spacers off because he didnt have the right wheel lugs, without asking me now I have to pay someone to put them back on. He also put the wheels on the front when he told me it was the rear that needed changing. This clown also gave me my two rims back with the old tires still on the rims!!! Ill have yo pay someone to take them off as they arent usable. AVOID THIS SHOP. After taking the vehicle they had for 3 months to another mech for the the mvi he said there was so much frame rot he couldn't believe Gary would have takrn my $1400 for the coolant lines just to have a truck thats a write off. They lied to me, ignored endless calls, never set expectations for work needed for MVI, lied about the MVI, took advantage of me and literally gave me a unroad safe vehicle after taking my money.

Yuille Auto Works - "There are no exhaust leaks, the exhaust looks great" I was told.

Awesome service. Friendly people there…read more Worth the drive from Fall River. Having a shuttle service is a huge benefit even though we didn't need it.

I took my BMW to Yuilles for service under warranty a short time after I purchased it. The car had…read morean exhaust leak near the front that I expected to be coming from the manifold connection and a CEL light which indicated that I needed new Vanos Solenoids, which I supplied. I dropped it off and told them what it needed expecting to get it back that afternoon. I was called to say "There are no exhaust leaks, exhaust looks great and we installed the solenoids but nothing has changed so we want to keep the car and run more diagnostics". they kept the vehicle for the entire week and were essentially doing what a DIY mechanic might do, ordering parts to test, returning them and trying other parts. at the end of the week I was told "It looks like you're probably going to need a new engine, yeah sorry for the bad news and it's not cheap, probably $10,000 to $14,000 if we can even find one." I was devastated as I'd only driven the car 1000km or so and paid $14,000 for it. I said I wanted it for the weekend and picked it up. I decided I should put it on ramps and have a look at the exhaust and the leak was VERY OBVIOUS, so I bought the two small gaskets, new bolts and did the repair myself. I had a look at the Vanos solenoids they installed (very easy job, 2 bolts, 2-plugs) and noticed they'd reversed the electrical lines making the computer believe the intake was the exhaust and vice versa, so I swapped them back to the correct position and voila, all problems gone and the car was back to perfect. I went back to tell them how disappointed I was and that I'd not be paying a nickel for their "diagnostics" as the car should have been fixed in only a few hours. So why did they do this, either the worst mechanic in the world or a criminal mechanic looking to buy my car for parts pricing. I would never allow anyone I know to use this service centre and I will certainly never return. On top of it all, 6-weeks later when I changed over to my winter tires I noticed they were totally destroyed. I had only put about 4-5000km on the brand new Pirelli's that came with it so I was shocked.. then I noticed they were Michelin's on my rims. Unbelievable really. Does someone there have a vendetta against me or is this business as usual.. I don't know, but stay away if you own a BMW, or any car for that matter.
