Last time we were in Solvang this little shop was closed but I put it in my memory bank! We saved a trip to the bakery as our last stop so I could pop in for a little shopping. But the bead shop was gone! Thinking I may have mistaken where it was, we looked it up and saw that they had moved. After a short walk we found it! It should have had a little rainbow over it because it was a wonderful shop! The bead wall was just stunning with a multitude of colors and sizes. Not only did they have amazing colors and sizes, but the prices were perfection. The woman that owned the store was friendly and understood how important it is to see the beads and that if I wanted to buy online she could send additional photos. In this shop you could also make and take a bracelet which would be such fun for families. Please support this wonderful shop! read more

Mie's Beads - Make and Take bracelet - Arts & Crafts Near Me - Solvang, California

My absolute favorite place to visit when in Solvang. The beads are incredibly special and different. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.

Kind and creative owner. Excellent source of seed beads and Delicas. Unique choice of handmade beads along with basics such as crystals, daggers, rivolis, and chatons. Foundational glass beads are also plentiful with lots of semi-precious stone beads. Findings and stringing materials are also available. A truly wonderful one-stop shop! Public parking is available behind the shop. read more

Really overpriced The lady wasn't real friendly and acted like I was disturbing her. I don't know if another place to go, but I certainly wouldn't go there. read more

Super cute little bead shop that is a nice stop from all the other stores in Solvang. I was pleasantly surprised to see Mie's Beads as I was walking past the huge crowd waiting out of Paula's. I had to wade through people to get through, but it was worth pushing aside hungry people (I didn't really). Walls and walls and walls of beads!!!!!!! Everything is sorted and organized and it creates an amazing wall of rainbow colors. So many types and sizes of beads!!!! I loved walking through and looking at everything. They have all you'd every need to make some jewelry, plus charms, and the tools to make them. I was tempted to buy a bunch just because, and I don't really make jewelry. I used to dabble in small bracelets and such, but it's not a hobby I do much of anymore. Nice little place to stop by even if you aren't big on making your own jewelry. You can get a lot of inspiration here, and it's a nice little unexpected haven in Solvang. read more

Mie's Beads - Walls of beads! - Arts & Crafts Near Me - Solvang, California

FIVE SHINY STARS FOR MIE'S BEADS!!!! Mie's Beads is a cute little shop located in downtown Solvang. There are literally tens of thousands of beads to choose from in this little shop. The store is run and owned by Mie, who is super helpful and friendly. She is super knowledgeable and helpful to everyone - beginners and advance beaders. There is some awesome pieces that she created in the store. Choose from glass beads to trinkets pieces to different types of mediums. She even had specialty glass beads from Ghana and other neat places from around the world. She offers pre-made bracelet and necklace sets so you can pick your beads and go straight to the table to make your own creation. They even provided a impromptu class for my kids (and they didn't charge us!). THAT is customer service. Prices are very very reasonable. Service is outstanding. The selection is amazing. Also check out the jewelry - ear rings, pendants, bracelets, etc that she has for sale. Selection is current, chick, and reasonably priced. Oh, the penance when one of your best friends is a top notch artsy craftsy fiend. K is a master of beaded jewelry and every time I see her, we are usually gifted with a beautiful bracelet she created. So how can I say no when we see a bead shop? It's was a beader's delight - lots of tiny glass beads made of colors representing pretty much every color in the rainbow at very reasonable prices. There were some unusual pieces that could be hung as pendants as well. It was nice to see a few ladies actually at the tables crafting and chatting when we were shopping. Very friendly service. read more

Would love to give a 5 star review but unfortunately the employee had closed the store and wouldn't let us in. Arrived a few minutes before posted closing time after 100 mile drive to get there. She didn't even have the courtesy to come to the door and tell us. Mouthed I'm closed from the other end of the store. We were prepared to buy a lot!! Will be taking our business anywhere else. read more

Coming from LA, we have a huge selection of bead and craft shops, not to mention the bead district in downtown LA so when I tell you that I will only come here for all my beading needs, it should tell you a lot. Prices are competitive, but the customer service is hands down the absolute best. The gorgeous mother and daughter combo is both skilled and patient, authentic and has great taste in music! If you feel you aren't very artistic, but always wanted to make your own bead jewelry, please stop in and visit Mie's! They will guide you and bring out your creativity. read more

Mie's Beads - Arts & Crafts Near Me - Solvang, California

Extremely disappointed with this business. In the today's world where would you find a business owner who would accept your order and then ignore you. I placed an online order for seed beads on September 7, 2018 and in a few hours got an email about my order confirmation. Since then there was no help about my order. I called 1st time on September 11 to question about my order and was told by Mie - "it is going to be shipped tomorrow". So I was expecting to get an email about total cost and shipping - but nothing happened. Nothing was shipped. So on September 13 I sent email again - what is the status of my order - no respond. At all. I called today - September 14 and spoke with Mie again. She said - she would call me back right away - guess what - it never happened. I have never been treated like this before. What a weird place and business. Today cancelled this order. Do not recommend placing an online bead order with this place. Bad experience and customer service. Stay away from Mie's beads business, unless you want to be treated like this. read more

What ever size, color, or shape of bead you want, Mie's will probably have it available. I found what I needed and more!

This is the best bead store I have ever found. Mie has every size shape and color of seed bead imaginable. I moved out of the area but make sure I stop at her shop every time I come to visit to load up on beads. Mie is also a very talented beader and a great resource for advice. read more
