Midwest most always has what I need for my customers projects when I can't wait on vendors to get something to me at wholesale prices. Yes, I'm paying retail but when a job is critical, Midwest gets it to me quickly. My only qualm with Midwest is their UPS ground shipping prices. They simply are much too high and it's obvious they treat shipping as a profit center. It makes ordering a few items a difficult decision due to the shipping costs. I can't always batch order to spread the shipping costs so I don't use them unless I really need to. Having said all that, the Service and Selection are great. The Value is average being weighted down, again, by very high shipping prices. Btw, I used to work with FedEx/UPS and have a very good idea of what their shipping costs are for smaller or average weighted packages. Larger packages with low weight are something completely different however. 5 Star being weighted down to 3 Star due to shipping prices. read more

Earlier today ordered 5 items for my HK SP5K PDW. Received an email a couple hours later from a customer service person (Ally) that wanted me to send them a copy of my ID over the internet for "additional verification" because of the dollar amount (less than $1,000.00). I called them and explained to "Ally" that I wasn't comfortable sending a copy of my ID over the internet and was told that they would cancel the order then. I have never in my 74 years been required to send copies of my ID in order to make a purchase with any company, regardless of the amount. They do not stand behind the products that they sell. Despite their website description stating that the part I ordered will fit my gun, it in fact did not. If you are going to claim that a part will fit my gun, but it does not, explain to me why I should have to pay return shipping and a restocking fee? If you can not/will not "guarantee fitment of any firearm part" then you shouldn't sell that part. That's called taking responsibility. I shouldn't have to scoure the internet and then cross my fingers in hopes that the part I ordered from you is going to fit. I was looking for a part for my rifle that I needed before my hunting trip, which was coming up. Found it on their site, great. I added it to my cart and selected the fastest shipping method possible, which cost about the same as the part. This was on a Saturday and the site showed that my shipping method would have a home delivery of Tuesday. I thought that would be perfect because I was leaving that Wednesday. I thought nothing of it until Tuesday morning when I received a notification that my part was shipping. I contacted customer service and they said "we don't work on weekends". Great, so your site is a complete lie of when something will ship. Which I made sure to point out. No where on the site does it say "we don't work weekends, so don't expect your item to be delivered when it says it will." No response...also interesting ITS TUESDAY and you finally picked and packed!!! Monday is not a weekend and you couldn't even ship a rush order I paid for on Monday ( not that it would've made it on time, but still, have a little pride). Worst customer service from this type of company. They said, "it's already packed, even though it hasn't left the building, we can't cancel the order". Thank you for wasting my money, my time and offering about the worst service ever. There were many things you could have done to make it right. I will never shop on your site again. CHOOSE ANOTHER VENDOR Ordered a part over night. Paid an extra $60 to assure the part would arrive as I was heading out of town for three weeks and needed it. It did not arrive as expected. I left without it. I recently posted a negative review about MGW, I have since changed my mind. After disussion with Rich Mcgehee, the owner, we came to agreement where things went wrong. I stated that the part wasn't a factory original when it was, it was just different from what I needed. They key here is the fact the Rich went out of his way to correct what was basically a misunderstaning. That, in and above itself, is worth the high rating. Today, businesses (especially online ones) tend lose the personal touch of an in store experience. I have been a customer for over 3 years, based on my visible online purchases from their site, but I think I have been a customer for much longer. However, requiring my ID to be on file pushes me over the edge. They said they only have the item I sent and don't carry the item I purchased. So I took screen shots of both listings from their websites with parts list (created by them) so they could see how the listing was misleading to consumers. Well they said they can do a refund, charging me a restocking fee and I'm on the hook for shipping both ways. Customers shouldn't foot the bill because you guys are posting misinformation on your website. I will not do business with these guys again. I ordered a right hand trigger assembly for a Benelli and received a left hand assembly. Spoke with staff, no right hand assemblies in stock. Ok, send me a right hand shell carrier, I'll install it and return the left hand shell carrier to them and swap the safety orientation and I'm good to go. Nope, won't do it-will not send me a $10.00 part (retail) to correct their error after I spent $200.00! I utilized my old right hand shell carrier and am back in business. I recommend using Brownells, Midway, Numrich, etc. when you need parts as Midwest customer service is lacking in good judgement. read more

Worst gun buying experience of my career, by far! NEVER sent email or any messaging of any kind to update on payment received (sent check) until I emailed about it. Then it took 4 more emails to get a response about shipping. I never did get any info about tracking until the FOURTH email, after which I was finally told it had been shipped and they gave me a tracking number, only to find it has been sitting at my FFL for a whole week! Every attempt to call is futile, getting the same message they are busy and cannot even leave a message. I doubt anyone mans the phones at all. All in all, the absolute WORST customer service from a gun dealer, or really from just about anyone, I've had the displeasure of dealing with.
