The Mishawaka location has a large selection of both handguns and rifles. Employees I talked to where very knowledgeable and helpful without making me feel overwhelmed or uninformed. The location was quite nice and easy to get around. The only downfall I'd say would be that in busy hours getting to a register and waiting for your turn could take a long while and the associates who are able to make sales don't seem to care much to get off of the chairs. Overall it's a good experience and worthwhile if you are willing to stay long enough to get what you came for. read more

Bought a nice SAA from them. Adam helped me with the process and it all went smoothly. Everyone seemed friendly and I got a good deal on the revolver. They have the best prices I've seen even beating deals I've found online and they have an absurdly good selection. Will definitely be spending more money here! read more

They have always been good for me. Lots of selection and the help generally knows their inventory well.

They have a great selection and very competitive prices. The service is always friendly and willing to go the extra mile. I recommend.

Do not go here!!!! I repeat they will NEVER get another drop of business from my family. Called in about a certain firearm and was told it came with 2 mags the gun did not it came with 1 and we were assured at checkout it was 2 we got home set it up and here it was nothing it was 1 mag and we're highly pissed I will never have anyone in my family go here again they refused to do anything about their employee lying, they also refused to make things right and hung up the phone in a very rude manor.. NEVER GO HERE! read more

I have not been there in years but I looked at the two horrible reviews, both are very complimentary why they got so few stars must have been an error so I'm posting my review now to assist this problem. These folks many years ago were incredible I bought many used guns from them at great prices and I never had any problems with these purchases. read more

Just left the store. Was not greeted at all there's 4/5 employees 2 with customers the others staring at the wall of rifles and moving them around. Stood at the knife counter staring at holsters for 12 minutes and never once was offered helped or acknowledged. Walked over the the ammunition area and was still ignored and not offered help. When you go to a store a realize the workers rather ignore a customer than help one you have a problem. So incase it's not obvious and forthcoming to you... Midwest you have a problem. Never spent money here and never will. It's a sad thing to see because I was ready to buy a crap ton of ammo a safe and a knife or two along with possibly a holster. You just lost an easy $1000 sale. read more

I'm not impressed at all. They do have a large selection but pricing is pretty high. Sometimes sales will make them competitive. Make sure you take cash because they charge 3% to use a card. I went in mainly to look around and if something struck my fancy I likely would have purchased it. The gentleman I talked to sked me what I was looking for and I told him an early S&W Model 60. He disappeared a bit and came back with two 60's for me to consider. I can't help but believe they tagged them special for a customer that told them he wanted. They were both sky high. I could have purchased one on the auction site for considerably less INCLUDING shipping and transfer fees. They were trying to take advantage and simply tried on the wrong guy. I won't be returning. read more

Their inventory is very impressive. I've seen the reviews that say if you're not buying they're not willing to talk but that's not all of them. I went in to purchase ammo only for some scope sighting in. I had asked about a 17 HMR and Katie my salesperson went through most of the guns to find one because they didn't have very many in that caliber. I would say she went above and beyond and would easily recommed her as she knew the product and didn't give up till l was satisfied. So if you go into the store ask for Katie, she is very knowable and very helpful I would rate her a four to five and the store it self a 3. read more

My experience with them a bit better than most on here. I have found everything I was looking for and some that I wasn't. Price seems a bit high on some things, better on others. A few of the sales people are a bit strange, EJ is outstanding! I have gotten a lot of stuff here and will get more. Great sale on things, I am called to sales(lol) they got my business until they do something to run me off! read more

Midwest Gun Exchange - Entrance to Midwest grape Road - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Mishawaka, Indiana

I have been using Midwest Gun Exchange as my primary resource for firearms, ammo, and referrals for friends for years. After my most recent experience with there team I will no longer be spending my money or recommending this locations to anyone. I may not have the most knowledge on firearms what so ever but being talked down to by multiple people in the establishment like I should know more is a very gross feeling when a team is based off sales and when trying to ask questions seems uncalled for. My Family recently visited this location and was rejected to purchase a firearm as they assumed we where purchasing for someone else for no apparent reason. I have spent thousands of dollars with this company and even knew some people on a first name basis and to not be allowed to purchase was very disheartening. read more

Nothing like being talked down too like a effin moron by an effin moron. I wouldnt take a dump in this place if it was the only toilet in 100 mile radius. Absolutly the most horrid customer service I have EVER had. Overpriced, new and used. Posting on Armslust too as private seller. Absolute joke. If I wanted to be treated like $h!t for calling out your employee for not knowning his head from his ass when caught in a lie...and your going to back his BS when YOU KNEW I WAS RIGHT... You should have your FFL revoked. And I thought Cabelas has idiots working for them. You guy take the cake this time. Glad I wont be back read more

Does not sell gun locks, or trigger locks pretty sad for a gun shop. Was told to go to a department store. '

Dropped in to Midwest for the first time today. This store has quite the selection. Both in pistols and rifles. I can't offer experience with the staff, because despite browsing each and every case in the store, my wife and I were never approached nor asked if we'd like to look at any of the multitude of pistols we were viewing. Zero rating for courtesy. Two rating for competitive pricing ($75 FFL transfers, wow) and a four rating for selection. Overall, two stars. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. I just spent 30 minutes in this store without a single employee asking me or my wife if we needed help. I fully intended to spent money here for a new knife but I was completely ignored by the associate at the knife counter. Hands down the WORST customer service I've experienced in the area. I would NOT recommend this store to anyone else. read more

Not the place for a new female gun owner! I came I over the weekend and my boyfriend found a gun that he thought would be a good starter rifle for me. I came back today after shopping around knowing exactly what I wanted. The sales attendant had me fill out the paper work then made me wait 45 minutes before refusing to sell to me. Apparently knowing exacting what you want and needing wanting to handle the gun means it's not for you. I honestly wouldn't as upset if they had just be upfront instead of wasting my time. Unless you're a seasoned male gun owner that wants to stand around and shoot the shit with the sales people, don't waste your time or money! read more

I'm was traveling in the area and stopped by this gun shop! Wow, the inventory is amazing. They have at least one of everything. Maybe a slight exaggeration, but not by much. It was fun to look around and explore! The staff was friendly and helpful. If you're a gun guy or gal this is worth the stop. read more

I bought a Tisas Tank Commander .45 for $500.00 plus tax. The manufacturer suggested price was $399. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! The feed ramp was scratched up like it was used. The owner is a major JERK!. DON"T GET RIPPED!! GO ELSEWERE! read more

Good news and bad news. Good news is that most (over 50%) of the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Bad news is that the other 50% are pseudo-experts and unprofessional. That is mostly the staff under 35 years of age. Normally, inventory of guns and ammo is excellent. And pricing "was" some of the best around. Since COVID they have become pricing predators for both guns and ammunition. I hope when things normalize again that the ownership gets their act together and cleans house on those bad employees. Buying overseas ammo and marking it up 400% is gauging. People have long memories. I have spent a lot of money here in the last 10 years. But not any longer. read more

I doubt if I will ever make another purchase at this store. The help was extremely rude and refused to sell me a shotgun because he couldn't be certain that it was for me??! I will take my business elsewhere if this is the way they treat their customers. read more

Bought a Ruger LCP2 from their store for $315 less than three months ago. Tried to take it in today to use it as a trade in to go towards the 365 tac pak. They offered $55 dollars. RIP OFFS!! They have used firearms for the price if new ones in there. I wont be back. read more

I ended up opting to drive to the south side to Top Shot Armory to buy a pistol, rather than going to Midwest, which is in my neighborhood. Why? Because they refuse to tell you the price of a gun or ammunition over the phone. "It's store policy" they say. Call any other gun store in the area and they will happily give you the price of the item you're interested in. I've spent a lot of money at this store over the years, but I am just done with this place. read more

Terrible customer service. I was in there to buy a brand new P220 Sig. I knew exactly what I wanted and made a decision to buy within one minute. The problem was it took damn near 15 minutes to get somebody to help me. He was more interested in going to lunch then finishing the transaction. Told me that there were holsters available when checking out found out there were none. The kid checking me out provided terrible customer service when I asked about holsters because I wanted to be able to look at them all he gave me was a brand-name said nothing about different options or Ways I could check them. Offered very little to no suggestions. I am slightly disabled and they were absolutely terrible at providing a little additional customer service. I would recommend that if you need to buy a gun. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Worse than a dealership. No one will talk to you unless you're buying. I had 2 people come up to me and when I asked them questions they answered with "are you buying today?" And when I said no they walked away. Nice looking place but very $$$ and everything was COVID prices even pre-Covid. read more

Midwest Gun Exchange in Mishawaka on Grape Road is staffed and managed by incompetent morons. They will repeatedly tell you what you want to hear over the phone when asking questions regarding orders and their merchandise. However when it comes to going into the store, to purchase, their entire tune and song have changed. Employees are incredibly rude, wont bother even asking to assist their customers. Last and final time I ever visit this location. I strongly suggest giving your business to Top Shot Armory or the Firing Pin. read more

Terrible customer service, no one wants to help and when they do you can tell they don't care, wouldn't even put in an order for a gun they were out of read more

So for Fathers Day my son got me a Ruger 10-22. Very nice guns and i was excited to get it!!! Opened the box and there is no clip in the box for the gun......hmmmm. My son called back within an hour of purchasing the gun and told them it was missing. All he got was basically "sorry for your luck", " bring it back in and we will see". After he brought it back, they said oh sorry, nothing we can do. A $20 clip and you arent going to give us one to shoot the gun? The clip is included....where is it??? Wondering if they take them out and resell them seperately?? Ive never dealt with these guys but i can guarantee you i never will with this crap and how unprofessional they are. read more

Good prices in the weekly ads but don't expect anything in the ads to be in stock. They carry maybe one or two of each with no variety. It takes forever to get waited on and no one seems to know or wants to lie about what is needed for a background check. Staff seems to ignore certain customers and pander to others but I can't quite figure out what demographics they are favoring but some people never get waited on. They are also condescending. I was told they had something "entry level" for me and shown a plastic gun. Will never go there again. Their ads are amazing but the only thing they are selling is aggravation and humiliation. read more

Always helpful. Definitely a large selection and probably the biggest in the South Bend area.

The sales representative that I dealt, Brandon C., was very knowledgeable, polite and helpful. The price for the weapon that I purchased was very good and I got a fair amount for my trade in. The store was very neat and clean inside and was a nice place to shop. Everyone else was courteous as well and my buying experience was excellent. I definitely will shop there again. read more

I'm a single mom of two I came in to purchase a handgun one for my home and one for me to carry unfortunately this place is prejudice just because the color of my skin they treated me the wrong way I will not step foot back in this facility for nothing in the world they judge you fot the color of your skin and it's crazy because I really need to protect my family and they don't know what people going through they denied me to purchase a gun and I have nothing on my background just because I'm black I asked to talk to the owner of a store and they deny me to talk to him do not go to the store. Brad Fisher I hope will you read this you reach back out to me because the people that you have working for you and your store is very prejudice and that's not good for business read more

2 stars...and they are all going toward their gun selections. My friend and I came into the store, and my friend is well...colorful (literally!). He's a hard working guy who just happens to be covered in ink and maybe salesmen think that means he can't finance a trip to the zoo. My friend was ignored, despite his obvious attempts to get some kind of service out of any of the salesmen. It's too bad for you Midwest, because little do you know my friend can afford to buy your entire back wall with cash. Oh, the kicker, you idiots did it to him twice! Yes, we came back a year later for a repeat of this experience. You can keep your guns, my friend gives his money to someone else now. read more

Sometimes good selection, but a lot of the salespeople have attitudes and the manager, Rockko, is the WORST! Prices tend to be high and they will LOWBALL you if want to sell a gun! Midwest THINKS they are the only game in town but Rural King in Niles, MI is selling guns as of Oct, 7, 2013!!!! ************************UPDATE:7-29-13 These guys should be arrested for price gouging!!! I was in here the other day and they are asking $5.99 FOR A BOX OF 50 Remington .22 cal. THUNDERBOLTS!!!...No, this is NOT a misprint! ...$5.99 FOR A BOX OF 50 Remington .22 cal. THUNDERBOLTS!!!... ...and a 500 round brick is $59.99!!! A box of 50 Thunderbolts is $1.79 on sale at Dunham's when they have it in stock. I would rather a store tell me they are sold out of an item instead of PRICE GOUGING their loyal customers when they think they can get away with it!!! When this gun/ammo panic is over (and it WILL end) I'll remember Midwest Gun Exchange taking advantage of a bad situation!!! read more

***UPDATE*** Left a negative review for this awful place of business so the manager (or lead asshole) Rocco Rigsby finds my facebook page and reports all of my posts as child pornography and illegal gun sales...that's some bad business practices right there!!! If this place was run with a bit more ethic and moral it would be a very nice gun shop, that being said... Pros - very large selection. - clean bathrooms. - nice selection of knives. Cons - price gouging on .22lr ammo and all other ammo as well. - everything is more expensive than every other shop in town. - no price matching. - staff is for the most part neither courteous or friendly. - most common accessories are not instock (you can get a Magpul phone case though). - getting the staff to actually help on a purchase aside from a firearm is damn near impossible. Save your cash and go to that awesome shop in Granger or Goshen! read more

Bad service. They have a great gun selection but if you want a friendly staff and great service this is not the place to go. I stood in the store for over 30 min was never Greeted and was never helped. I'm a constant customer & I've spent copious amounts of money with this company whether it be a box of ammo or 2 & 3 guns at a time. I will not be returning due to the service I received today. read more

Horrible customer service. Eager to take my money, when there was an issue, the man in charge said all sales final or he would buy by brand new gun as being used. His arrogance reflects these people don't care if you are satisfied. They have no ear for complaints. I will take this to court. The receipt should say NO RETURNS. NO EXCHANGES. NO MATTER WHAT. As of now, the receipt says exchanges allowed with min of 20% restock fee. This idiot said the recipe is wrong. No returns or exchanges. Treated me like I was dirt. read more

This guy behind the counter gave me .223 when I specifically asked for .556 nato then only gives me one box of 25 which doesn't even fill a magazine! Then doesn't show me the shotgun shells and they are wrong! read more

I was amazed at how many horrible reviews Midwest had. If you could replace all of the sales people and bring the prices down to a proper level, I would probably live up there. It's an awesome store. Tons of options. Probably one of the best in the region. But then we get to the staff. I don't think I could actually smoke these guys any worse, but here's my story. I went in to buy my wife a new compact carry and I told them that. I chose the pistol. I went to fill out the paperwork, but they wanted her to fill it out. I told them I was buying it for her so I would fill it out. They wigged out. I came back the next day. It was a huge deal. I thought Dude was gonna cry. I told them what I thought of how they ran the place, and they told me they didn't need my $800+. I told them a few other things and now I'm not allowed back in there, It is however funny as hell to watch one of the supervisors start to cry and almost piss himself. I wish there was a negative star rating. read more
