I'm not impressed at all. They do have a large selection but pricing is pretty high. Sometimes sales will make them competitive. Make sure you take cash because they charge 3% to use a card. I went in mainly to look around and if something struck my fancy I likely would have purchased it. The gentleman I talked to sked me what I was looking for and I told him an early S&W Model 60. He disappeared a bit and came back with two 60's for me to consider. I can't help but believe they tagged them special for a customer that told them he wanted. They were both sky high. I could have purchased one on the auction site for considerably less INCLUDING shipping and transfer fees. They were trying to take advantage and simply tried on the wrong guy. Just left the store. Was not greeted at all there's 4/5 employees 2 with customers the others staring at the wall of rifles and moving them around. Stood at the knife counter staring at holsters for 12 minutes and never once was offered helped or acknowledged. Walked over the the ammunition area and was still ignored and not offered help. When you go to a store a realize the workers rather ignore a customer than help one you have a problem. So incase it's not obvious and forthcoming to you... Midwest you have a problem. Never spent money here and never will. It's a sad thing to see because I was ready to buy a crap ton of ammo a safe and a knife or two along with possibly a holster. Their inventory is very impressive. I've seen the reviews that say if you're not buying they're not willing to talk but that's not all of them. I went in to purchase ammo only for some scope sighting in. I had asked about a 17 HMR and Katie my salesperson went through most of the guns to find one because they didn't have very many in that caliber. I would say she went above and beyond and would easily recommed her as she knew the product and didn't give up till l was satisfied. After my most recent experience with there team I will no longer be spending my money or recommending this locations to anyone. I may not have the most knowledge on firearms what so ever but being talked down to by multiple people in the establishment like I should know more is a very gross feeling when a team is based off sales and when trying to ask questions seems uncalled for. My Family recently visited this location and was rejected to purchase a firearm as they assumed we where purchasing for someone else for no apparent reason. Dropped in to Midwest for the first time today. This store has quite the selection. Both in pistols and rifles. I can't offer experience with the staff, because despite browsing each and every case in the store, my wife and I were never approached nor asked if we'd like to look at any of the multitude of pistols we were viewing. Not the place for a new female gun owner! I came I over the weekend and my boyfriend found a gun that he thought would be a good starter rifle for me. I came back today after shopping around knowing exactly what I wanted. The sales attendant had me fill out the paper work then made me wait 45 minutes before refusing to sell to me. Apparently knowing exacting what you want and needing wanting to handle the gun means it's not for you. I honestly wouldn't as upset if they had just be upfront instead of wasting my time. Good news and bad news. Good news is that most (over 50%) of the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Bad news is that the other 50% are pseudo-experts and unprofessional. That is mostly the staff under 35 years of age. Normally, inventory of guns and ammo is excellent. And pricing "was" some of the best around. Since COVID they have become pricing predators for both guns and ammunition. I hope when things normalize again that the ownership gets their act together and cleans house on those bad employees. Buying overseas ammo and marking it up 400% is gauging. People have long memories. I have spent a lot of money here in the last 10 years. But not any longer. read more

The Mishawaka location has a large selection of both handguns and rifles. Employees I talked to where very knowledgeable and helpful without making me feel overwhelmed or uninformed. The location was quite nice and easy to get around. The only downfall I'd say would be that in busy hours getting to a register and waiting for your turn could take a long while and the associates who are able to make sales don't seem to care much to get off of the chairs. Overall it's a good experience and worthwhile if you are willing to stay long enough to get what you came for. read more

I ended up opting to drive to the south side to Top Shot Armory to buy a pistol, rather than going to Midwest, which is in my neighborhood. Why? Because they refuse to tell you the price of a gun or ammunition over the phone. "It's store policy" they say. Terrible customer service. I was in there to buy a brand new P220 Sig. I knew exactly what I wanted and made a decision to buy within one minute. The problem was it took damn near 15 minutes to get somebody to help me. He was more interested in going to lunch then finishing the transaction. Told me that there were holsters available when checking out found out there were none. The kid checking me out provided terrible customer service when I asked about holsters because I wanted to be able to look at them all he gave me was a brand-name said nothing about different options or Ways I could check them. Offered very little to no suggestions. I am slightly disabled and they were absolutely terrible at providing a little additional customer service. I would recommend that if you need to buy a gun. They will repeatedly tell you what you want to hear over the phone when asking questions regarding orders and their merchandise. So for Fathers Day my son got me a Ruger 10-22. Very nice guns and i was excited to get it!!! Opened the box and there is no clip in the box for the gun......hmmmm. My son called back within an hour of purchasing the gun and told them it was missing. All he got was basically "sorry for your luck", " bring it back in and we will see". After he brought it back, they said oh sorry, nothing we can do. A $20 clip and you arent going to give us one to shoot the gun? The clip is included....where is it??? Good prices in the weekly ads but don't expect anything in the ads to be in stock. They carry maybe one or two of each with no variety. It takes forever to get waited on and no one seems to know or wants to lie about what is needed for a background check. Staff seems to ignore certain customers and pander to others but I can't quite figure out what demographics they are favoring but some people never get waited on. They are also condescending. I was told they had something "entry level" for me and shown a plastic gun. Will never go there again. I was amazed at how many horrible reviews Midwest had. If you could replace all of the sales people and bring the prices down to a proper level, I would probably live up there. It's an awesome store. Tons of options. Probably one of the best in the region. But then we get to the staff. I don't think I could actually smoke these guys any worse, but here's my story. I went in to buy my wife a new compact carry and I told them that. I chose the pistol. I went to fill out the paperwork, but they wanted her to fill it out. I told them I was buying it for her so I would fill it out. They wigged out. I came back the next day. It was a huge deal. I thought Dude was gonna cry. I told them what I thought of how they ran the place, and they told me they didn't need my $800+. I told them a few other things and now I'm not allowed back in there, It is however funny as hell to watch one of the supervisors start to cry and almost piss himself.
