Came here for an eye exam after realizing it had been prob ten years since I'd seen someone (oops)!…read more Fortunately i've been blessed with good vision so it wasn't urgent. I was able to conveniently make an appointment online with Dr. Elizabeth Newman. I arrived for my appointment and checked in with the friendly receptionist. I waited just a few minutes before I was called back, and a technician had me undergo a series of tests. The most interesting one was a machine that takes a picture of the back of your eye, including the blood vessels. Pretty cool! I was then taken to an exam room where I awaited Dr. Newman. She came in shortly and had me complete a few more tests, explaining what she was looking for as well as the results. I really enjoyed her manner: calm, thorough and professional yet extremely friendly. Fortunately, my vision was better than I had expected and I was then taken to the optical department to pick out a set of readglasses. The technician explained to me there was a promo which included certain frames which were discounted together with the eye exam. I was paying cash for this visit, so that was certainly welcome surprise. She helped me choose a fun style that complemented my hair and face. I was quite impressed by the value of the bundle! She was also kind enough to offer to send the finished glasses to a My Eyedr. office very close to my home so I could pick up and get them adjusted there. All in all, I had excellent service here and at a great value. Highly recommend Dr. Newman's services and this location.

I got the scratch resistant coating on my lenses, but within a couple of months they had several scratches on them even though I was careful with them & only used a lens cleaning cloth. When I went in to inquire about getting the scratches fixed since I'd purchased the special coating, the woman told me rather curtly that they don't fix them, but order new ones & that would cost me $40. She seemed like she had no time to deal with me although I was the only one in the store. I also told them twice that I was not satisfied with my frames because they did not fit on my nose properly & was offered no solution in order to fix that problem either. They told me I would "get used to them" -- I assured them I was used to them, they didn't fit properly. Both times that I went into the office to ask for help, an officer worker named Angie was rude to me & failed to be the least bit attentive or helpful. I then called & spoke with John & although he was a little nicer, he was not helpful either. So now I have expensive glasses that I don't like, that don't fit well, & that are scratched. I will not return & cannot recommend Columbus Optical, unfortunately. I hate my ill-fitting, scratched glasses & the customer service is just awful.

No notice of his retirement to come in and get your records. Just a letter to the editor reliving his history and the next day he disappears. Took the records with him. Now as someone with an eye disease I have to start all over. I went in to discuss and after a few minutes dancing around I was told that it sure is a bummer. More like unethical. I don't care how many decades they have been in business that is some of the poorest service I've received anywhere.
