I will say their spay/neuter prices are steep, however they do give care to your pet while they recoup from their surgeries, unlike some of the cheaper places that use local anesthetic only, and send them out the door. Heidt doesn't do that, I've been impressed with their business for the last couple years, in fact, I've sent more people to go to them than my normal vet I use. If I could mske them my primary care place for my kitties, I would in a heartbeat. Just a wonderful place.

I told them I was a new customer and started to describe the problem with my cat. They interrupted me (nicely!) to say that they are not accepting new customers at this time. My beef with Shawnee Veterinary Hospital is - why doesn't the website indicate that they are not accepting new clients at this time? I wouldn't have wasted their time and mine by calling if their website had this vital information. I can't speak about the services, but their website could use some work.

They were and were able to schedule an early morning appointment for the following day. They also advised that should an emergency happen, to go to the emergency animal hospital. When I arrived at Metz Petz of Shawnee, the staff was very nice. I met Dr. Nathan Metz who was nice and seemed to care about me and my cat. After an exam and some tests, Dr. Metz carefully and fully explained the diagnoses and treatment. When I was presented with the bill, I was pleasantly surprised that the cost was so reasonable. I definitely would recommend Metz Petz of Shawnee. Dr. Matz and staff were friendly, and the place had a good 'feel'.
