We live just 5 miles from this clinic. We really wanted to like them. We really did. However, when we took our very sick, old cat in with an obvious respiratory illness, we were far from impressed.
He had been sick for a few days. Discharge coming from eyes and nose. Coughing and sneezing, lethargic, hadn't been eating well at all. The poor guy couldn't even purr any longer. He had stopped grooming himself and was miserable. We took him in, figuring he would need to be euthanized.
Instead, he was put through bloodwork and exrays, with no explanation as to how much all of this was going to cost. Then the vet came back and told us everything was perfect. I felt like I was in the twighlight zone. This cat was very sick and I was worried about the rest of our cats at home!! Her explanation was, he may have just developed asthma over the last few days. She was going to just send us home, until my fiance asked if he needed an antibiotic or something to help him. She proceeds to give us one, as well as pain meds for arthritis in his back.
We go to the counter and find out our bill is $330. We drive home and the sick feeling hit my stomach like a brick.
Three days later, he was even sicker and could barely walk. We had to make the long trip into Marysville, where we finally helped the poor guy cross over.
NOW 3 of our younger cats are developing coughs. We are holding out hope that they will be okay, since they are young and the first to show signs, seems to be improving. However, I can promise you, we will be taking them into Marysville Animal Care, if it becomes necessary. Never again! read more
