Reading each mag front to back. I wanted to read one magazine per day but, being away from home...it was nice to read ABOUT home. It was like being home! Vegas magazines are all about clubbing or "things to do" and Contrast is all about the culture of "the aina" or "the land." My favorite articles were mos def about the people. The people that make Hawaii -Hawaii! The surfers, the hip hop artists, the fashion designers, etc. The photos of Hawaii almost made me tear, too. Shows me that home IS where the heart is! And I miss it a lot... Whoever does takes the pics for the mag SHOULD GET A RAISE! Photographers really captures the beauty of Hawaii, the beauty of its culture, and the beauty in its people showing that Hawaii is MORE than just sun, sand, and surf. You can even notice the quality of the stock of paper they print on, no other magazine like it. The stories are tasteful and always interesting. The colors of the pictures and ads jump off the page.
