I can not say enough great things about this local Hardware Store. I'm not super handy but whenever…read moreI go into here with a part or picture of my repair project, Brandon and his employees are super knowledgeable, kind and patient in guiding me not only to buy the right parts but to give me some pointers to help get the job done quickly and efficient. Save time from driving to a big box store and stop and and say hello to the crew. They are also amazing and accurate key cutting, glass-window and screen repair services. Heck, they can even make you a window screen from scratch. Definitely give these guys your support!!

I had to replace my kitchen sink faucet. Went to a big box store and bought the faucet. So I went to Lowes, Walmart and Home Depot. None of them knew what I was looking for. It wasn't that hard. I knew I explained it right. And I also know I couldn't possibly be the only person to ever have this problem. On my way home, I drove past Poplar Place hardware store and made a u-turn (illegally?) and pulled into their parking lot. I was in there for a few seconds and was able to find one of the pieces I needed. I walked to the counter and told the man in terribly inaccurate terms what I was trying to accomplish. He said "oh, sure!" And walked to their vast collection of adapters and brought me exactly what I needed. I am never going to any of the monstrous stores again. All hardware needs will now be taken care of at Poplar Place hardware. They are knowledgeable. The store is well stocked and clean. And their prices are competitive.

For the most part I can generally find what I want/need. The first time I visited I was taken aback by the amount of 'day workers' hanging around the store. I assume they're looking for work. I purchased a few rolls of sod on one occasion and they were sitting on the rolls outside. I had to ask them to move to get my rolls, which was a bit uncomfortable. That's my main negative view of this Home Depot as that area is covered with litter. Anyway, that's not the actual store, but I can see that keeping customers away. I've found help when needed/asked, but for the most part I'm in and out. I usually know what I want, know where to find it, and I'm out the door. I was looking for plant stands on my most recent trip. They did have a few nice ones, but they did not match my decor. I did find a nice pot to replant my snake plant.

Also it's a bummer they don't take Apple Pay. The sings are pretty small in the self checkout area so I waisted a trip. I would've appreciated a large sign at the entrance so I wouldn't have waisted my time looking for what i needed.

I usually never leave reviews, but this on pisses me off. I returned an air compressor this morning…read morethat was not working after 3 weeks of using it. I was going to get the same compressor, but they did not have that one in stock. They only had a smaller cheaper one in stock. I needed something so I got that one. I was charged a $116.00 restocking fee for a broken compressor. I was told if you upgrade or have an even exchange then there would not be a restocking fee. They did not have the same compressor. The only other one to upgrade to that they had was a $1800 job site gas operated one. I am not sure who or why they call this a restocking fee but they should be fired. Everyone knows what it means to restock except the idiots at harbor freight. Needless to say, GIGI was of no help with this restocking fee. Her only words were its company policy. So I left and get the smaller cheaper compressor back to my shop. I called customer service on the way back and spoke to someone farther up the chain of command and was offered a $50 gift card. I declined stating I will just do a chargeback on my cc. As soon as I turned the new one on, oil started leaking out of it. I went to Home Depot and picked up one from there. On the way back to harbor freight to return the broken one I call the customer service number again, they said the manager has the discretion to wave the restocking fee. I went back to Harbor Freight within an hour to return the broken one I Just got. SOB if I wasn't charged a $52.00 restocking fee for the one I just got an hour ago. Once again GIGI was of no help. "Company Policy". I asked for the manager and was told they don't have one but Dakota the assistant would be in at 12:00. So i called right Dakota and he was just as helpless as GIGI. I guess I will just have to do the chargeback for all the bs charges. I will reach out to the local news stations as well. This is BS
