Did the weather affect your experience because this is a food truck? Not at all. They even have the weather aspect together. They provide nice shading while you order and wait for your food. What could warrant only giving them 4 stars? A variety of reasons. The first being that they have so many things to choose from, and I've only eaten one thing from the massive menu. When I order more, I can adjust my rating accordingly. Also, my frugal meter hates paying the prices I pay for Mexican food! That's a strictly "me" issue that has no bearing on this establishment. I feel as though Mexican food, generally speaking, should be way cheaper than priced now and days. That's because some ripoff Mexican fast food giant used to feed me 10 tacos for under $5! Once again, this place will be 5 stars for many people. I'm looking forward to trying many things they offer. They even mentioned "keto" on their menu. I always like to taste a shop's apple fritter as a measuring stick. The taste was good. The texture was good. I was not used to have a rather flat fritter. I think I prefer a fat fritter over an almost pancake like fritter. The taste was good, so no biggie. Overall, this is a nice place with decent pricing. They are always well stocked with ice and beer, and there are a lot of other fun nicknacks and gifts for sale as well. Today when I went in they had beautifully detailed laser-etched wooden depth maps of the lake, which was really cool. They also sell things like t-shirts and hats as well as chips and other snacks. The spot itself is fairly new, and they have built a beautiful deck with tables and chairs so that you can relax and enjoy the lakeside views. They stay open extra hours for holidays, which is really nice! We were there over Memorial Day Weekend, and even though they are normally closed on Mondays they plan to be open in case anyone needs anything over the long weekend.

We are currently evacuated from New Orleans and this tasted like home. Both me and my boyfriend held back tears because as the song goes "we know what it means to miss New Orleans" and so do they at the "Food Lady". The Boudin balls are fantastic, the catfish is the best I've had in Texas, and the shrimp and grits was good enough to have a line out the gate at Jazz Fest. All of that and still priced like a good neighborhood place. Most of all though it felt like home, Ms.Kiki came by and let us know she would pray for us and hoped our house was ok. Everyone was so kind and helpful and made us feel at home. Will be stopping by every time we are in town from now on.
