My Tacoma which I've had since it was new 18 years ago started making some weird noise that I…read morecouldn't figure out what it was from. I took it in to a place AAA recommended in downtown LA and explain the issue. They told me I needed a new timing chain along with a whole bunch of other stuff and quotes me $4800 for it. This was preceded with a lot of scare tactics on what will happen if I don't have the work done, which came across as very used car salesman-ish. When I ran the quote through ChatGPT I was told they were charging me dealership pricing for an independent mechanic for that type of work in LA. So I brought the truck here to Speedway where I had Minor worked done before and had a good experience. They told me my bearings need to be replaced and did the work for lesson than a quarter of the price I was quoted at the other mechanic. Work was finished in a day and the truck has been running perfectly since then. Had I spent to 4800 at the place it wouldn't have even resolved the issue, which means I would've had to come out of the pocket even more after the initial work was done. Obviously a truck of this age is gonna have some problems and when they inevitably happen again I will be back here at Speedway to take care of them. Highly recommend this place for integrity, quality, efficiency and fair pricing.

I ordered a used replacement from eBay and after it arrived I looked for a body shop that could install it. After reading glowing reviews, I called Hyperion to ask if hey could schedule the installation, expecting to wait a few days. Instead the guy on the phone said to bring it in at 10:30 the next day. I didn't get there as a tweak in the door itself caused my overhead lights to stay on and drain my battery. I arranged for a friend to take me home, expecting to leave the car for at lrast the afternoon. But manager (I did not get hois name) said it would just be a half hour. He called over a ytechnician and 20 minutes later the car was ready! I had some body damage and the manager quoted me a price apologetically, noting that Lexus Parts are super expensive. I said well, it's a 15 year old car - probably isn't even worth the cost of the repairs. I started to walk away and stopped, turned and said, "Wait, I haven't paid you!" And he said, "no charge". I was dumbfounded and only hope I thanked him emough. Great work, fast, and even complimentary. I'm in awe. Go there!

I went for an oil change and had also wanted to get the rubber seal on the door frame replaced. Mine had completely ripped and kept disconnecting from the frame. After a year of dealing with it, it became difficult to close my door without having to move the rubber aside. Instead of replacing it, the mechanic offered to tighten it/glue it and see how it holds up first. Currently, it has been holding up with no issues, but he told me to give them a call if it doesn't hold up so they can order the part. Service was pretty quick. I went on a Friday morning and it looked decently busy. I expected to wait 3-4 hours as I walked to a nearby coffee shop while I waited for my car to finish. I was thoroughly surprised to receive a text within 2 hours, stating my car was ready. Will definitely be coming back here for future car tune ups.

Most vehicles today are digital and a great benefit of that is receiving digital alerts on the dash board when something needs attention. My Honda Accord was alerting me to "Check charge system". I took my car to JT Mechanic and met with Lilly who handles billing. Once a mechanic went to check out my vehicle I pointed out the alert on the dash. Lilly explained that there would be a $200 charge for running a test and locating the problem within the charge system, and if I agreed to have them do the repair, then half of that fee would go towards the total cost. I was called the following day to let me know that the test was completed. When I arrived to speak with Lilly, I was told that something was wrong with the charge system. I asked if they located the problem and she said no, not yet. Then I asked "so why am I being charged if my car already told you what the problem was?" Her reply was "just trust your Mechanic and everything will be fine". I got burned by JT Mechanic!

My engine light suddenly came on a few days ago and then the engine started to make a funny noise…read more Due to a combination of a crazy schedule and having been frustrated with my most recent experiences with local dealerships, I decided to try out Mobile Mechanic. It's one of the best decisions I have made this year. Will was able to come out with a day or so and run a diagnostics check, quickly locating the issue and showing me the results. He explained to me what the issue was, discussed options, gave me a full quote and a price - highly competitive. With me agreeing to what needed to be done, he ordered the part (Saturday) and came back the next day (Sunday) to install it. Incredibly helpful and so polite, he showed me the new part, walked me through what he was going to do and afterward even showed me the part he removed and explained the wear and why it was actually perfect timing. Within hours I was up and running again, good as new. I have NEVER had service like this from a dealership in all my years of being a car owner and driver (and that's several decades). Will also flagged other things that I needed to be aware of (including needing an oil change - which I will be getting him to come and do) but at no point pushed for me to do them there and then - zero pressure, just guidance. He repeatedly asked if I had any questions and was keen for me to understand what was happening and why - superb! He even cleared up the work area after he'd finished. Flawless. Aside from the convenience and Will just being an incredibly nice guy, his attention to detail and service are second to none. Friendly and knowledgable, he works hard to make sure you understand what he's doing, and is professional and polite at every step along the way. Will clearly cares and takes great pride in what he does. He's the only person I will be going to for my automotive service needs from now on. Highly recommended.
