Supremely disappointed. I have always been a loyal customer and have spent lots of money at Midstate Meats...until today. On Wednesday, the week before Thanksgiving, I called and reserved 8 lbs of prime rib for Thanksgiving. I was told the cost would be about $12.50 a lb., for a total of about $100. When I came in to pick up on the agreed Tuesday before Thanksgiving, suddenly the "sale price" was about $16.87 a lb, a 25% price increase!! I asked what happened and the guy told me "there was a price increase." When I told him that when I reserved my order about a week ago at $12.50 a lb., he said he was sorry and told me that the person who quoted me the price quoted m the wrong price. That should not be my problem. They had me over a barrel. It was too late to go back to Turasky's, where the price was cheaper, and buy from them. In short, I was taken advantage of at the cash register. My only recourse is to "vote with my feet" and never step foot in Midstate Meats again. I am so disappointed to say that, due to Midstate Meats ethical lapse, I have determined that I have made my last visit to Midstate Meats. Shame on you, Midstate Meats.
