Absolutely Love Mid Shore and Dr. Harris! My first visit with our new pup and I wanted to be more conservative on protocols for not over vaccinating. Dr Harris was very open minded and agreed to my wants with our pup. Unfortunately most vets I have ever been to just push and belittle you for your choice with your dog. Thank you Dr Harris! I wish I was a more litigious person because there is another dog I know who has suffered in agony for years under the "care" of Mr. Harris's medical malpractice until he was treated by Dr. Kerns and miraculously recovered. Shocking, if you don't know how horrendous Mr. Harris is. The dog is now is living a happy, healthy life. Covered in fur where there had once been nothing but red-raw bloodied skin. Avoid this man at all costs if you care at all about your pet. If anyone should have their license revoked it is this absolute failure of a "caregiver." This dog went from destroyed, bloody, and disfigured to joyful and healthy after seeing Dr. Kerns ONCE after years of "treatment" from Mr. Harris. What a monstrous, sorry excuse for a so-called doctor. The thought of those years of health stolen from this dog is a tragedy. Sir, retire. read more

Its like the Little House on the Prairie. A small building a block up from Rte 50 on Dutchmans, but you walk in to a welcome. The Team Atmosphere is instantly recognisable, it's not crowded and the staff are a delight. They talk to your animals. Nonstop! That, more than anything else, told me this was the right place for our dogs. The confirmation was when the staff, on at least three occasions selected a route that "will save you money". Stay away from this place if you have an older pet, they have young Vet Techs that don't give a damn about your animal or what you are concerned about in in terms of an adverse event happening because of age. I took my 14 year old female Russian Blue cat. She was seen by the vet and diagnose with a mild ear infection and given drops for her ear. Before we left they ask if she was up to date on her vaccination,I said no but we will bring her back when she is over the ear infection. The vet tech spoke up and said well everybody says they will bring them back but they never do and it's the law. She emphasized the law loudly. So we told her ok give her the rabies shot and she brought up distemper she wanted to give that too. Well after a awhile home she became lethargic ,then got got lumps on her body at the injection site her legs swelled up so large that.she was unable to walk. her breathing was labored and you could clearly see the poor animal was in agony. I took her back and they X-rayed her and said she had cancer or a serious bacterial infection they asked if I knew where she got it, I said yes right here! My wonderful cat that was so loyal to me died antagonizing death. read more

I am the owner of two guinea pigs, one chinchilla, and a very fluffy dog, and while it's one thing to find a good veterinarian for my dog, it's very difficult to find a competent vet for my little furries. That's why I was so excited at how helpful Midshore Veterinary Service was in treating my guinea pigs. I had taken my guinea pigs to another vet because one had fur loss all over her body. That vet treated her for fungal infections, but the problem proceeded to get worse. I finally broke down and took her for a second opinion at Midshore. The office let me go into an exam room immediately so that my guinea pigs wouldn't stress - there were children and dogs in the waiting room. I very much appreciated that, as guinea pigs get stressed very easily. I saw Dr. McConkey, and she instantly diagnosed my guinea pig with one look - fungal AND mites. She also noticed that she had a mass in her side and gave her an x-ray to see what was going on. She was very patient and addressed all my concerns. She was also very friendly, as were the vet techs. The price, while higher than the other vet I had visited, was entirely reasonable. Nugget the guinea pig is now on the road to recovery, and I wish I had taken her to MidShore Veterinary sooner. I only wish it wasn't such a far drive for me, otherwise I would take my dog there, too! In short, if you're in the central area of the Eastern Shore, say, from St. Michael's up to Chestertown, and you own a rabbit, guinea pig, chinchilla, or other small exotic, save yourself time and money and take them to the vet here. read more

My wife called in on a Saturday and explained we had a dog with a severe wound on his paw that was bleeding profusely, "he had been walking thru water and found a broken bottle". Taylor at the desk said bring him in, after what seemed like an hour drive from Greensboro, they were able to sew the artery closed and more stitches on the outside. Can't begin to say how much we appreciate their efforts and professionalism. read more

Our family could not be more pleased with Dr. Kerns. The staff is very friendly and the care our dog receives is phenomenal. We have been going to this vet for 7 years. This past Sunday we had an emergency visit our dog Millie. Dr. Kerns and Becky were waiting for us and took care of her right away. Decided on Midshore Veterinary as our new vet after moving to Easton with our two cats and the usual on-line scrutiny. First visit, with Dr. Kerns, went just great from scheduling to exam and they are currently working on a prescription to find the best approach. My dog lacerated his nose bleeding and open. I think trying to jump over our fence. Call MSV was told to bring him in and they will crate him until they could see him. I did not feel comfortable crating him, as he was never crated before. I called again and was told ,they didn't know if they could see him. The girl who answered the phone was curt and very rude. Then they said to bring him in at 340. By then I was disgusted. He is my baby. When I call and upset that my dog is bleeding with an open wound I expect to be told to bring him right over. Not, " I don't know if we could see you today " read more

The team at Midshore took care of our emergency as quickly and efficiently as possible. The whole team was concerned about our cat's issue and took it upon themselves to contact our "regular" vet's office to secure records (although they asked me to bring these in, they contacted them just in case we were missing anything). It was wonderful to have a real vet to speak with on a Sunday and not be charged exorbitant fees for an "emergency" visit. I do like our regular vet, but I'm so thrilled with the service and level of care that we received from Dr. McConkey and the staff that we may be switching to Midshore for both of our cats and our dog. The fact that they have staff available 7 days a week and 24/7 on-call care for (current patient) emergencies is a huge plus. It was just a wonderful all-around experience. read more
