Fine dining at its best. We were able to get a table but, suggest you book!!…read more I honestly wasn't sure when I first saw the menu but, that quickly all went away after the first bite of the eggplant chips with raw beef!!! You could tell the chips were made with care and precision. I was wanting to order another plate. The first of our mains was the 1/2 baby chicken which was a large cut for one. I tend to eat the items on my plate singularly (I'm weird) but, this dish forced you to combine and I simply loved it!! The balance is obviously the main strength. The second main was the duck. I have NEVER had cooked at this high standard and the quince dressing was perfect with it. We were full after all this but we wanted to continue eating because the food was so delicious. I loved the chilli pineapple (with a one-punch) and ice cream sandwich, and the house made apple sorbet was very fresh.

Very sweet interior with mixed pattern antique porcelain plates and cozy environment. My friend and…read moreI started with the fennel salad which was crisp and flavorful. I had a seared piece of barramundi in a crab broth with greens and coconut rice, so satisfying and the broth was spectacular. My friend had the lamb ribs which were well prepared, and a very large portion. The only thing that was a miss for us was her charred kale and purple sweet potato salad which had a dressing too sweet for our palates. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, would highly recommend!!

So I've been to Entrecôte twice, and I've walked out the happiest gal about town twice. Never have…read moreI felt so fancy and special in a place so relaxing and unpretentious. The first time I ventured in was to indulge in what is likely the happiest of Happy Hours - $2 oysters and $12 glasses of Mumm champagne - that is ACTUAL champagne, people. I refer to this kind of treat as Choysters and I guarantee you, you'll feel like a French royal by the time you finish that second glass. My next trip was for dinner. I was so excited to try their famous Steak Frites - Grilled Hopkins River Porterhouse, with salad and BOTTOMLESS FRIES. Can you feel my excitement as you read?! The steak was cooked to absolute perfection and the salad gave much needed greenery to the dish. This is such a fun destination if you've had a GREAT day at work and want to celebrate or are celebrating an anniversary of birthday but don't want anything too over the top.

Entrecôte is what I imagine heaven is like. It's fun, decadent, doesn't take itself too seriously, and has enough options to keep each day a little different, but not so many that you need to waste precious time making decisions. This isn't complex food, it's not food that requires discussions on how it was made or where the ingredients are from. Nope, it's delicious classic food that lets you get on with what's most important - enjoying the company of your friends. You'll eat and drink way more than you intended, but by golly will you have a fun night.

Food was delicious and so satisfying and meals were perfectly timed between each serve. Dat and I shared each meal with each other so we ordered most dishes and can't wait to go again to try what we couldn't fit it. * Entree* Perfectly cooked scallops. Escargot with a mushroom sauce and bread to soak up the sauce. *Mains* Salmon in a puff pastry filled with rice and egg and a lemony white sauce. Special of the Day was Steak with Duck fat potatoes, salad and Pate *Dessert* Vanilla Creme Brûlée Poached Pear with a house made chocolate sauce topped with Vanilla ice cream and Almonds for a nutty Crunch I've never had steak and pate together so this blew my mind, I will never make it without it again. We made a booking online and dinner was prepaid at time of booking. Make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Thanks for being a lovely host Stefan, can't wait to visit you again

Fancy French bistro in the gorgeous countryside. The aesthetic charm of this restaurant will draw…read moreyou in even if the food doesn't. The grounds are lovely and suitable even for weddings, which I suspect they host on occasion. Once inside, the wood fire keeps you warm while you peruse the menu. The latter being full of the cliche French cuisine favorites such as escargot, onion soup and creme brulee. The waiter warned us that the servings were large so we decided on an entree each and a shared main. This was actually far too much food for the two of us! Three entrees would have been more affordable and appropriate in size! We had the onion soup (with melted cheese - yum!) and duck rillette for entrees and were quite satisfied. The bread served with large portions of butter was also a real treat. For the main we choose the beef cheek casserole which was so rich we struggled to finish but somehow found room for our desert. Each course was bought out a bit fast for my liking as it would have been nice to leisurely digest and chat a bit between each course. Our meal cost $80 which could easily blow out of we had chosen wines or French cheeses for dessert (as my cheese obsessed heart often encourages me to do!) Needless to say this place is best kept for a special occasion or romantic dinner with one of your sweethearts. The friendly staff topped off a lovely evening; would recommend.
