I'd heard that there were plenty of restaurants to choose from along Piper St & there were, but a bakery, the Little Swallow Cafe & one other eatery were the only places open on a Monday morning. So we found ourselves at the Little Swallow Cafe. It's a lovely little cafe, with a good breakfast / brunch menu. Not so many options that you feel overwhelmed by the menu but still plenty to choose from. Both of us were very happy with how our eggs were done, & we shared a sourdough toasty, yummy all round. I enjoyed my coffee & although my husband grumbled about the "girly" cup his tea was served in, I thought the mixed cup & saucer (local op shop finds I guess) served on a pretty little tray were a nice touch! Overall a recommend cafe for breakfast or a coffee to go.

Quaint cute little cafe tucked away just enough off the busy main street to offer a relaxed and comfortable cafe opportunity outside the city. But on a recent fill up I stepped inside and it was a bustling scene, mainly local tradesmen, which is always a good sign - cheap and cheerful. I had a samosa which came accompanied by a great sauce and was excellent. They have a good breakfast menu and range of sandwiches and hot food. I suspect it is a bit of a "secret" with the locals and plan to return. So, if passing by, or looking for an alternative to the trendier places in the area, don't be put off by appearances. But if looking for trendy, and prices to match - keep driving.

The menu is limited but often changes, today I had the burrito and I'll be coming back again for another serve. The decor is funky and hip and all things cool, the seating is a mixture of long tables where you share with others or small traditional cafe tables and chairs. I enjoy watching and smelling the cooking that goes on, it's like being in a kitchen at times. My only draw back and the reason for not giving this place 5 stars, is the coffee. I tried it once and could barely finish it. So I now avoid it and go for a chai latte instead.

We waited for 1hr and it still hadn't appeared, after asking the waitress to find out where it was she said that the docket hadn't been sent to the kitchen.. waited another 15 minutes for it. To be fair it tasted ok but at $17 I feel that it was overpriced. I won't be going back
