I lived at Middletown Trace Apartments for 23 years between July of 1995 and April of 2018. All of the townhouse units have second floor bathrooms with plumbing issues that will flood your kitchen on the regular. No one there knows how to fix it either. There's nothing like taking a shower only to go downstairs to get a snack and getting to have that same water pour on you after traveling through your floor and ceiling. You can't shower again because it will just flood more. You have to wait 48 hours for them to fix it. This happened so many times in 23 years it's more times than I can count. My kitchen flooded with shower water every time. My ceeling was rebuilt every time. My kitchen was a construction site for weeks every time! My neighbors all complained about it happening to them too so it wasn't just my unit. The units are overpriced and for the money you pay the staff treat you like your a burden on them and you should probably just leave them alone. My upstairs bedroom flooded multiple times when it rained. The water came in from a hole over the window. When I complained they told me it was because the gutters hadn't been cleaned. Um I went to college for architecture and thats not how buildings work. When you don't clean the gutter it dumps the water on the ground and damages the foundation it doesn't come in the house! Plus all this flooding equals mold. Don't even look at this place if you have a mold allergy. They do not salt or shovel snow in a timely manner at all, and if you complain they tell you it's because they only have a small crew. Why do you have one small crew? I was paying $2,300 a month to be there. They have 1,000 units. If everyone pays an average of $2,000 a year that means your making $2,000,000 a year. Hire a bigger crew!! I fell so many times trying to leave I had to start calling out of work every time it snowed. Which is ridiculous because all the roads and sidewalks in the entire town were clear. Just not Middletown Trace! They once plowed a ton of snow on top of my car. When I called the office they told me it was my fault because I wasn't listening for the plow. I lived in the corner of a courtyard. My parking lot was nowhere near my unit, I never could have heard the plow. Plus I was sick in bed with the flu. I feel like the units look nice when they show them to you and the staff are super sweet and nice but the day after you sign the contract the staff are so rude and inconsiderate it's like a complete 180. I own my home now and and for an acre and roughly the same amount of space inside my mortgage is $800 a month less then this place charged me. Yes theres hidden cost to ownership but for $800 a month difference I'll take it. As far as the rude staff there it was the same people for the whole 23 years. Who takes a job where you have to deal with people every day, when they know they hate people? I'll tell you who.., someone who wants $2,000,000 a year with barely anything put back into the place, and who likes to sit around and do nothing for it. Hence the annoyance with customers when something goes wrong. read more
