I have been a patient of the Baptist Health doctors across many specialities (general practitioner,…read moreOb/Gyn, gastroenterology, cardiology, neurology, and urgent care) for over a decade now. I use the Oldham County locations as much as possible for convenience but have no qualms about visiting these docs in their Louisville offices when necessary. I have had only one negative experience over all these years and, while it was unpleasant, it was only with one medical assistant who was taken off of my visits after that. The doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and staff have been absolutely stellar! At the risk of making my own appointments harder to come by, I highly recommend the Gastroenterology practice. They are focused on the WHOLE patient and have diagnosed issues accurately and thoughtfully.

I received standard lab services for an annual physical and was charged $1500 for "hospital based lab services". My insurance company offered to pay 200% , or $450, for what Baptist receives from Medicare for the same service. Baptist REFUSED to accept the payment. After years of collection letters and phone calls I am now being sued for $1500. After this fiasco, I have been using Labcorp who charges $250.

When I married my husband almost 20 years ago I became a patient of Dr. Nolan. I'd never had a…read moreprimary physician or scheduled annual check-ups. Thankfully I didn't need to visit often and over the years chose to schedule visits with the nurse practitioners. Compared to Dr. Nolan, they spent more time with me and asked questions. As I began visiting other specialtists and their offices, I began to notice a difference in my experience with them - little to no waiting long after my appointment time, helpful office staff, friendly lab technicians, documentation online rather than paper files, cleaner waiting rooms and exam areas. After a terrible experience with the front desk associate, one that resulted in other staff members apologizing for her behavior and me waiting for almost an hour past my appointment, I found another primary physician. A few months later I convinced my husband that his lackluster experience shouldn't be acceptable. He needs regular visits for his medical health and we need a doctor that is attentive. My husband had since left Dr. Nolan. One thing that is consistent with this office is customer service that leaves you wanting more. "Susan" is a long time associate and the face of Dr. Nolan's office. While I'm sure she knows office processes front to back, she doesn't provide an upbeat, friendly presence to patients signing in. Her phone skills are the same. If you have a long-standing relationship with Dr. Nolan, I understand staying with what you know. If you're looking for a new primary physician for yourself or family, I'd continue searching for other recommendations.
