Hard to find a place to begin to explain everything that is wrong with this place. The first thing…read moreI noticed was an underlying unpleasant odor that they were trying to mask with one of those essential oil dispersal devices. The overpowering aroma from that gave me stuffed up sinuses and a headache within about 10 minutes. While I was waiting to be taken back, what I assumed to be a lab tech dressed in scrubs brought a batch of syringes to the counter behind the reception desk and just laid them out on the counter and started filling them with no concern for a sterile working environment. The hallway leading to the examining rooms wasn't the cleanest I had ever seen for a medical facility and there was no indication that any attempt was made to clean the surface of the X-ray machine I had to place my bare foot on for imaging. The exam room was kind of a mess and when the doctor entered and looked at my X-rays he told me what a mess my ankle was in and if was a 12 year old he would have scheduled me for surgery as quickly as possible. I found that interesting since I wasn't there for any sort of an ankle problem, but had in fact had successful corrective surgery on the left ankle many years ago. The doctor quickly pointed out what a mess the original doctor had made of my ankle joint during surgery and that it was going to take him a lot of work to correct it. Well, the ankle wasn't the issue. I was there because I was experiencing plantar fastidious in one foot. After finally getting him to focus on that problem he told me that he was going to put me in an appliance to lift the heel of my foot higher. I asked him by how much and he said about 3/4-1 inch. Normally the root cause of this type of problem is the Achilles tendon being shortened and affecting the tendons in the arch of the foot. It also went against all advice and treatment I had received from other doctors prior to moving to this area a few years prior to this visit. I expressed my doubts about his solution and he quickly and arrogantly informed me that he had a degree in bio-engineering and wanted to know what my background was. When I told him engineering, he quickly veered off in another babbling direction of nonsense. I know some people hold him in high regard, but he is a condescending and arrogant individual that only wants to plow ahead on his path and not taking anything you say into consideration and does not listen to anything or any concerns you voice. I was pretty much seething by the end of the appointment and couldn't wait to get out of the building. In the end I followed earlier advice I had been given along with my own logical research, bought well cushioned sets of shoes with a low drop or no drop from the heel to the ball of my foot. This stretched out the Achilles tendon and completely relieved the pain in less than a month.

I am not normally the type to leave reviews, even when I am displeased with my visit. However, I am…read moreso I satisfied with my visit that I want to warn others about this place. First of all, my appointment was at 4:00 pm. I arrived at 3:45 to fill out paper work since I was a new patient. I am not the type to comment on sanitary practices, but during the time we are going through, I expect professional doctors offices to be sanitizing thoroughly. Not a single pen (that every patient was touching) was sanitized nor were any seating or counter tops. And on top of all of that, there was a dog inside of the building the entire time I was there! Completely unprofessional. I was not taken back to a room to be seen until 4:50. Once I was taken to the room, I then waiting even longer to be seen. Dr. Lapoint did not enter the room until 5:10. It was very obvious that he was in a hurry to get me out of there since I was his last patient for the day and THEY were running behind. I explained to him that I have been in pain for over 10 years! All of this to say I went through all of that for him to look at my feel from a distance, not even touching them, to say that there was nothing wrong with them. After he exited the room another woman came in and told me that the next time I come in, I needed to "make my appointment around 1 or 2 pm so they aren't there this late next time" As if them running behind was my fault. I am extremely dissatisfied with my visit and hope that everyone reads this before making an appointment with Georgia Foot and Ankle.

Provided recommendations that were completely the opposite of other podiatrists and orthopedists to…read moreresolve plantar fasciitis. Immediately planted the subliminal seed that if I was a 12-year-old he would probably have me scheduled for surgery to correct ankle issues that were not apparent. While waiting to be seen by the doctor I observed a technician filling syringes in the non-sterile reception desk area with no rubber gloves and did not sterilize the tops of the serum bottles before plunging the needle to extract with I assumed to be cortisone. A series of labs was ordered with the diagnosis of diabetic neuropathy, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, and one other thing that I can't remember and this was after I informed the doctor that I had just had a complete physical by my GP with full-spectrum testing of my blood and urine less than a month prior to this appointment. I also do not have diabetes so I have no idea why that was even a consideration. To remedy the foot problems I was experiencing I had recently switched most of my athletic shoes to the highly recommended type that would correct the problem and had been experiencing great success. I was informed by the doctor that the shoes were completely wrong and that I would wreck my feed if I continued wearing them. The shoes of my choice are continuing to benefit the problem and my condition is improving. In my estimation, the remedy he was proposing of installing orthotics that would elevate my heel by almost 2 inches would have done more damage. In addition, the orthotic had a hard heel lift that would have put undue pressure on my heel tissue. I came home, shredded the lab orders, called the pharmacy and canceled the prescription he had ordered, and canceled my future appointment and request to be removed from their records as a patient.

I had keyhole bunion surgery in 2021 on one foot, then the other. Initially, aesthetically the end…read moreresult was good. Be aware that this surgery may not fix the root cause of your bunions, which was the case with me. So I expected a return of the bunions, hopefully years later. My left foot was never pain free after the surgery. I was told by another podiatrist that I had a nonunion of the osteotomy and that there was nothing to do about it. I asked my orthopedic surgeon to take a look. Well, he found that my toe joint has collapsed and that I have avascular necrosis of the bone, basically the bone is dead due to lack of blood flow. I had an MRI to determine the extent of the damage and to determine next steps which may include fusion (best case). If the lack of blood flow caused more extensive damage so that fusion is not an option, I don't know what next steps will be. Be sure to do your homework and look at all options for your bunion surgery. I would not recommend this cosmetic surgery that can do damage that is awful to repair. My right foot has different problems--I have a bone spur growing upward from the toe joint. I haven't had it examined by a competent orthopedic surgeon yet and I don't expect good news. Lila R.

He botched it and now I'm left with SEVERE painful nerve damage. He tried gaslighting me when I tried to express my concerns about it saying I couldn't have any pain because he didn't see any redness or swelling. Really bad bedside manners. He would often ignore me and address my husband who was in the room.
