Terrible service. Never received internet from but they wanted to bill me anyways. Do NOT sign up with them or give them your personal info!

Internet itself is decent, but if you make a mistake with the bill, they send harassing emails instead of polite emails about correcting the issues. It's jarring and causes a lot of stress that they can't communicate in a moderate way about a simple error. The interaction with the office personnel was difficult to say the least. They try and add useless items on your service and force you to jump through hoops to get them removed. Each person I spoke with was a liar. Each time I pointed out the misinformation they did not have a retort on their sales script. They had no idea that I knew every aspect of their job. The people I spoke to on the phone were less trustworthy than the crooks in their sales office. Verizon is far superior to Midco for the price . The company bluepeak is even less reliable than Midco. Both are untrustworthy in business, and it's a coin toss for the worst of the worst. They provide no value, and they look to find opportunities to steal from their customers. I have decided to just use my cell phone for everything and it's definitely working. read more

Absolutely trash company. I was on the phone with support for almost an hour because I was unable to connect to my SQL servers at work. They swore up and down that they do not block ports and it had to be an issue with my router. Finally a few days later we get a call from a supervisor and they stated that there was a recent change where the company is blocking port 1433 and to open it up I have to pay for business service. This will hurt all IT professionals on their service I highly recommend going to Starlink if you have no other choices. They state it's for security vulnerabilities, but they did it so they can charge customers more money to open services that all other ISP providers already provide. If it's for security then how is it that I can "Upgrade" to business and get the ports opened? I am still on their network so security vulnerability still exists. read more

if you have literally any other choice, choose that instead. Our Wifi was cut off 1 day after it was set up for "scheduled maintenance" that we got no warning for and has stayed off for now 24 hours. When we called to have it serviced, we were told we were "at the top of the list". Then hear nothing almost all day. Now I guess Midcontinent is forcing customers to accept fiber internet or lose their service even if they do not want it, I have been told that Midco is switching to fiber internet and we as customers must agree to permanent structural changes within our houses or lose service entirely. I was also told by one of Midco reps they can tear up peoples lawns to dig trenches for the cables without the landowners permission. I do not know how true this is, but it was what I was told by Midco. A tech came to my door at 9 AM unannounced, uninvited and without any contact from Midco, wanting entrance into my house, said he was doing some kind of tracing and wanted to check something. I did verify that it was someone from Midco, he was rude and argumentative when I voiced displeasure at him showing up early, unannounced and uninvited. Just another example of Midco disrespect and arrogance. I have discovered another provider that is in my area and will be switching to them as soon as possible.I have about 8 months on my contract and than I am done with them.Their Internet is spotty , expensive and unreliable.There are much better options out there read more

Internet is reliable in the Sioux Falls area. Midco TV is a disaster. Regular price increases without communication. Meh.

I had midcontinent cable when I lived in West Fargo, ND. I never had to call in for poor tv or internet. I called once in 7 years because my dog chewed the cable in half. Now I live in Thousand Palms, CA and I would give anything to have Midcontinent for my internet service. Spectrum is the worst company ever. Be happy if you have Midcontinent and if you want to expand your business to Thousand Palms, CA...sign me up! read more

I'd been a Midco customer for many years in three different locations. I switched to a new company that offers the same services (TV, phone, Internet) for less. Recently, I was somewhat unhappy about phone services that were installed that I didn't want (showed my "mailbox" was full, and I don't have a mailbox). So I checked Midco again. Even after being a long-time customer (I'd guess around 30 years), got no consideration for that, and the quote was still quite a bit over the service I'm presently getting. Overall, I see no difference in quality, and the price is less with my present provider. read more

New to the area and can't believe they are getting away with charging so much money for such complete trash. Their platform is completely not user friendly, it is hard to navigate and looks pixelated most of the time. On top of that they tried to pass a 1080i box off as HD and their program line up consists of the each network having 3 different channel number assignments. I was so put off that I returned their outdated technology and have jumped onto the streaming bandwagon. Which by the way is actual HD and much less expensive. Don't worry they certainly billed me for my week of service and that waived installation fee was waived no more. Would NOT recommend this service to anyone. The cost is outrageous for what you are actually getting. read more

If I could give negative stars I would - DO NOT buy the Smart Home system! It does not work! Their app doesn't even support the home systems functions and their internet isn't even strong enough to support the system. I have call a ton of times and they WILL NOT help me at all!!! they literally said they have no control over their own app because it is thru a different company..... WHAT!! I have been a long time customer of Midco. I must say that I am extremely disappointed in the overall quality of the company at this point. Vast is not usually a good alternative but with Midco constantly increasing their prices and sucking the life out of me with horrible internet I might switch here soon. How should I start, I moved from the middle of downtown Rapid City to a new apartment that is even more in the middle of Rapid City a block and a half away. I pay usually $70.00 a month for just internet because I don't have a tv and the computer is my only real source of entertainment. When I moved I had them come and reconnect my services to the new apartment. You would think that they would wave the reconnect fee since I have been a longtime customer but when it comes to nickel and dime ya, they are the best! So after that I was like ok lets watch Youtube and Netflix. Within the first couple of days I saw where everything was slow. Videos would pause and need to refresh, some videos couldn't watch and Netflix sometimes would completely freeze up. So I go onto the Internet and do a speed test to test the speeds that I am getting. I usually do three different speed tests because for some reason Midco's speed test always says I am blazing fast. Weird right? Anyways Google's and Fast usually matches the same results. So I trust what I am getting. I am paying for 150Mbps speed and getting anywhere from 10 - 65 Mbps all the time. So I call and complain. They send a tech out. They talk a good game but then left and did nothing about it. I call again. 2nd tech comes out ( different tech) and looks around says a lot of things and I ended up buying one of their cheap Chinese knockoffs modems ($150.00) to see if that will fix the issue. Oh and when I got my bill for it I noticed it was ridiculously high. Found out they had charged me for two modems instead of one. So I called to get that one taken off the bill and the customer service rep laughed at the mistake. Like it is funny to over charge people! Anyways Nope I call again. 3rd Tech visit same guy as the 1st visit (absolutely useless, did nothing and said nothing could be done, then leaves!) Call again 4th tech out does a speed test it couldn't complete the test because it was so slow. Knows this is a problem and says we will need to replace the cable line. The cable line is on the roof of my apartment building. So the tech tells me that I will need to get a hold of my property manager so they can get a maintenance guy to come help them with the cable replacement because they can't go on the roof. Side note: Midco was the one who put the cable on the roof in the first place but whatever. So my property manager said it was Midco's responsibility to replace the cable and not the property manager's to hire their maintenance guy and have to pay them to do this. The stupid thing is that everytime the techs leave my place that is the last you hear from them, whether the problem was fixed or not. No one in this company does their jobs!! I could overlook one mistake here and there but this has been one after another and another and so on which makes me believe that this is the normal quality of the company from day to day. They should have warning labels when you have to talk to them. Use them at your own risk! I would rather go to Vast and pay $40 a month for shitty internet speeds then pay $70 a month for speeds that I will never get. I would understand if I lived out in the boonies, but I live on Main St in the middle of Rapid City. Quit falsely advertising your speeds when you can't reach them. Quit frauding your customers every day! Hell I will be surprised if the internet will even let me post this thing in the first place:) Go to Vast they are the lesser of two evils at this point! read more

I have never had a good experience with telephone customer service. Their equipment is terrible and doesn't allow for one to use the basic technology that is available, built in to even your old TV's. Technology that has been available for years is completed curtailed with their dumbed down boxes. Their ever skyrocketing prices are outrageous. The new guide update graphics are hard to read. The stark colors of white on black, some grey back grounds and the blue to 'high light' are not good readable color combos. The old guide colors were far more readable. I can see why so many of my friends have cut the cable. Looks like it past time to do the same. read more
