I have had an overall good experience with Midco unlike a lot of people on here evidently. Service installation took no time, they got me scheduled in just a day. My Internet has worked perfectly from day 1 and runs all my devices with ease. I do some pretty heavy gaming with it, no lag or issues. Customer service was great to me and prompt. They worked with me on a late bill instead of just shutting it off instantly, the only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because of the $100 installation fee and the price after promotional pricing for the first 6 months goes up making it just a little more expensive than I am comfortable with. I've never had an issue with the people who actually work for Midco. It's the company itself that is rotten. Horrible service. They seem to intentionally make their website run slowly when trying to change your services. The rest of the website loads instantly until you click "change services." Looking forward to the other internet services taking over with far superior capabilities. Actually using fiber connections instead of cheaping out on copper lines. read more

worst most garbage service and customer service ever. I've been with these scumbags for almost 7 years. I lived at a previous address and then transferred to a new address 3 years ago. Today they turned off my service stating that when I moved, they created a different account for me and lied that had a $50 balance on my previous account.. Then I asked their supervisor, how is it they allowed me to start a new service if I had a previous account with an unpaid balance? She couldn't answer that. They lied that they reached out to me thru email in July and August of 2022 which was lie cause I checked my email and didn't find any there. Without any communications, they turned my service off today demanding $50.00 from a "previous account" they made an error by disconnecting instead of transferring three years ago. Now they're telling me that the account is with collection service which needs to be paid off to them before my service is reconnected, however the collection service is closed; so that means I gotta be without internet for something they made an error with three years ago. please!! DO NOT GO TO MIDCO!! They have bad customer service!!! Not only do their service/speed sucks, their customer service are the worse. read more

We select GREAT now because of our recent Saturday, 07/27/2024, repair visit from Ilham, MIDCO Tech. From the start of Midco making a change to wireless, it has been a nightmare. Various techs have been here changed the modem 2 different times and still same problem would continue. TV and internet stops working, with TV a constant (Circle of Loading Video). Most of the time rebooting would get everything up and running,,,,,maybe for and hour maybe for a day, we never new when it would stop working. Ilham started at the modem which was located under the TV in our living room. The cable coming to it from the basement tested very poor...in the basement the cable from outside was very good in quality signal. Here he removed an old splitter that was not needed, moved the Modem to the basement. Also noted the AC power supply was not the usual that is normally a part of a modem package. I've had Midco since I moved into an apartment in 2017. I've had good experiences and bad; the good include several years of never having any contact with Midco, just paying my bill and getting quality internet service. The bad? Recently, after having been with the company for almost 7 full years, my monthly payment increased with absolutely no warning. Two months later, my internet starts getting spotty. I contact customer service, and everything is fine.... for 20 hours. The very next day, I'm in the middle of working on my 12 page research paper when the Internet goes down. I finish my paper with my cell phone's hotspot while my girlfriend talked with Midco. It turns out, the hardware in my house is out of date and isn't compatible with their new hardware. So instead of telling a loyal customer of over 7 years that they need to upgrade their hardware, they just.... let me figure it out on my own? This was the final straw for me. I can't wait to get hooked up to Red River Communications in the coming weeks and leave Midco behind forever! read more

Worst service I've ever encountered. Since we've had it....... You came into my fenced in yard - twice unannounced. You ignored my first complaint - because I told you, I have 4 dogs with a dog door. And OPENED my gate again without my knowledge and then got mad at me because I have 4 loose dogs ......in their yard, that is fenced. The first modem didn't work and so we didn't have any services again. Then when you came back with a different one, your IP address, because of your zip code, started giving me another states news, weather.... anything local. If anyone wants to know SD's weather - let me know, no I don't live there but it's all the news I get. Then when I called, because I found your problem.....you said it was my responsibility to fix it ...... the modem.....which you installed ......and is actually your equipment. And now, I get to wait... again, as I have the last 4 months. read more

Absolutely horrible service. Midco used to be good. Now all I get are authentication errors and slow service. They really don't do a thing to help and are not a reliable company. It's atrocious that a company can have such poor service yet still be in business. read more

absolute garbage service. internet is always slow. i pay for 1gig and get on average 210-550mb download speed. when i was paying for 250mb i was getting 50mb download. Every time i call them they want to send a tech out. tech shows up at noon and everything runs great. i get on to play computer after work and guess what? internet is almost non existent. all last week ive had "wifi" (if you can call it that) but cant open or run any apps while on the wifi. my wired computer runs ok but my phone has nothing. this company is so bad its almost comical. i cant wait until Red River communications finally gets to my neighborhood. ill gladly pay whatever the cost to get away from this company. read more

Worst WiFi I have ever got. We are supposed to be getting 500 upload speed and download speed or whatever and don't come close to it and we pay top dollar for absolutely garbage I can go get a banana and use that for better signal then what Midco gives you. They charge the stupidest rates and give the worst for it. If they kept their word it would be actually worth keeping but at this point I'm to the point of grabbing a book. And the best part is they just tell us to restart our system and reboot it and it does nothing. Don't get MIDCO! You're better off with $5 hotspot if that even exists. read more

Customer service is not that great, speed is INSANELY slow, and for the promises they made we feel completely lied to. i guess they grew too big to give that customer service that people used to rave about. If I could give zero stars I would. After moving out of an apartment my former roommate took over the lease. After I called to cancel my service so she could set up her own for that apartment I continued to get billed while she was also charged. Another 40 minute hold and I thought the issue was fixed. 3 months latter I no longer live in Fargo and I get another charge. After a 50 minute hold I'm told that it is all resolved. The won't refund my bank account, they will send a check in the mail which is annoying in itself as it was there mistake. Today I get a email about her bill I haven't lived there for 6 months... By far the worst internet service provider I have ever experienced. To top it off the automated message has been playing "we are experiencing longer than normal wait times" for every call I have made in the last 7 months. read more

I have called at LEAST 6 times to get something set up as both neighbors have it. I have been told they are working on getting it for my address, they can't service my address or that supervisor is not available. Absolutely horrible customer service! My husband called Midco-Fargo multiple times to have someone inspect our internet router. He received emails stating someone was going to come over last week to work on the router. However no one showed up a he was still charged a $90.00 service fee. Also my husband has paid all his bills on time but Midco-Fargo still keeps sending emails stating he still owes money for bills he's paid. He even emailed proof of payment to Midco-Fargo. Also, my husband talked to the manager about our horrible experience with them and no one showing up to fix our router. Manager apologized and did not offer some sort of compensation for the inconvenience. Never using this company again. Switching to cable one. read more

If I could do a minus star I would. Last year, Summer 2018, Midco dropped a new line across our yard when we were having issues with our cable. We were told they would be back to bury it when the crew is in the area. They are out in the area very frequently as there are new housing developments around us. All summer we mowed around the line, moving it back and forth. THEY NEVER CAME BACK now it's May 2019, I've called several times, get great lip service (they train their customer service people well) no action. I'm ready to rip the line out and get a different service provider. We've been a customer for years and years. Paid allot of money to Midco. Apparently that means nothing. They used to be a good company, they receive a Failing Terribly grade now. Update: after additional calls to customer service I finally spoke to a person who took this on personally and promised me this would be dealt with. Next day they were at our house. As an employee I felt so bad for the ppl constantly calling in paying over $100/ month at times knowing they will never have speed they are paying for. I hope this helps someone. Most of my family has Midco and we've had nothing but good experiences with them. We've gone with other companies(2) but there were so many hidden charges,(a $150 bill when I signed up for $75 plan with one company) we just were tired of guess-timating our bill. Our service has been pretty good and our bill has stayed consistently the same. I recommend them. The customer service line could use some work(as with most businesses lately) our cable guys was pretty helpful and took as much time as he could with Covid being everywhere lately. Upon calling to cancel services I was explicitly told by the operator that I did not need to return any equipment. I assumed I had paid for the full price of the modem over time. I was then sent a letter demanding I pay for the modem and pay fees. So glad I canceled services with Midco. read more

Just got our first midco bill after moving and the bill says we have a late payment plus they've been slowing down our internet service.. how could we have a late payment when this is the first bill we've ever received from them?!?
