We've lived in the Monkey Junction area since 2009, and started coming to this Midas to get our annual inspections because it was close. After a few interactions, we also started getting our truck serviced here. They have been extremely ethical in recommendations for repairs and the pricing has been very fair and affordable. It's clear they care and know what they're doing and have always treated us well. The last issue we had we decided to take it to the dealership because we thought something was really wrong because of the squealing and pause when pressing the accelerator. They said it's just moisture on the belt, it's humid here, and the truck would be fine once the engine heated up. During the inspection at Midas, we mentioned the issue. They looked up our truck and found a notification that our issue was a known issue with our timing belt and told us what it would cost to fix it. It ran perfectly after they performed the repair our dealership blew off. I highly recommend this Midas for inspections and as your neighborhood mechanic. read more

I came in for oil change at 5:25pm today July 05th 2018 Justin seem to be in charge and in a hurry he refused to change the oil today. Told me to come in tomorrow. I have few suggestions to Midas to turn off the open sign @ 5:15pm and change your business hours information. You don't open until 6 you are misleading prospect clients. Your worker it's lazy, he wants to be on your clock doing nothing for 45 minutes before time to close the store. Justin, to smiling, to be friendly, to be polite and showing you want future customers business it's a plus to maintain Midas going. You are a model of poor customer service. read more

I brought my truck in with a brake issue and they quoted me $1400 mostly to replace the brake lining which they claim took five hours. I had it done at a very reputable company down the road for a total of $255. I am shocked that a local company especially a Midas store would want to get this type of negative feedback circulating with the locals. Wow, shame on you!!! I took my car to Midas at 5526 Carolina Beach Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412 on Thursday, May 19, 2016 for an oil change and inspection, I came away with a dented hood and a horrid customer service experience. They claim they did not dent my hood and that it looked like someone had sat on it. It's funny, the dent was "up." It was from the inside... Looked to me like they may have accidentally shut the hood with something left on the engine block. The dent certainly wasn't there before I took my car in. I had not even driven the car to any public places before noticing the dent and I live in a private area. So, certainly it wasn't sat on as they claim. What really gets me though is the way they handled the situation. I went to the shop first thing Monday morning and was told the owner would have to handle it and that he would call me back later that day. There was no phone call. Tuesday morning came - no phone call, so I called them back again. I was told that he would call me back. Again, no phone call. Finally, Wednesday morning I stopped by the shop to see the owner, but he was apparently out. Made an appointment to see him personally Thursday morning (May 26th) at 9am and surprise, surprise... he never showed up! Instead two employees came out to take a look. This is where things really took a turn for the worst. I was belittled and told that I was a liar. In there "vast" experience of car repair no one had ever "accused" them of damaging their car. I was calm and collected about it, but they raised their voices and became very hostile and accusatory. It's funny, because I went out of my way to go to that particular Midas because I was always happy with the customer service and their speed at getting things done. Their customer service (Ryan Hoffman) really took a turn when it was me asking them to make things right. He was really defensive and accusatory about the whole thing and really made me feel berated. I'm still waiting on a phone call from the owner to at least apologize or even acknowledge my situation, but given his track record of not caring about his customers I doubt I will ever get that phone call. I never even did get the owner's name. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from Midas on Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington! They are disrespectful and dishonest! Now, I get to think about them every time I get in my car and the couple hundred dollars of damage that they did to it while it was in their care. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Midas Corporate and the NC Department of Justice. read more

Tried to get my car inspected and they froze my engine up. Jason there was nice but, the owner David Delaney is rude and doesn't want any responsibility for his shop's error!! It ended up costing me over $650.00 once I was able to get it to the dealership! I have also had Midas "mechanics" tell me my vehicle needed multiple repairs. I would take it for a second opinion, to learn that it in fact DID NOT need what they claimed. Be careful, especially females!! read more

I will never take any of my vehicles here again. I made an appointment to get my oil changed and tire rotation done on my truck. My appointment was scheduled for Friday February 23 at 10am. I arrived at 9:55am and here it is now 11:46am and the truck is still in the air??? No communication was given for why it was taking so long. Terrible service!! My first and last visit all wrapped up in one poor appointment. I'll make sure I pass the word. I'm sure there's plenty of other shops that will provide a good customer experience in a much quicker time. It shouldn't take two hours for me to get my oil changed and tires rotated. read more

Visited oleander location to check AC on my truck and they checked for leak and recharged it , drove it for few days and took it back . The technician said it's the compressor. I bought the part and took it back to the same location. Got it installed. Few days after . No cold air again . They asked me to let them pick up my truck and work on it while I'm at work , I agreed. Called me the next day to say that the technician is off till next week and unable to do anything till he gets back . Great service... they didn't even offer to charge it or take it to other location. read more

The service is not bad when you can get it. Unfortunately taking a walk-in is something they rarely do. I would estimate that I get turned away or offered a "few hours" wait about 3 out of 4 times I show up. This morning was the last straw. You see, they always tell me that if scheduling an appointment isn't an option, then to show up as soon as they open up and the wait would be minimal if one at all. So today I show up about 15 minutes after they opened. There was one car in the parking lot and none in the service bays (best I could see). There was two folks working the counter and zero customers in the lobby. I was told it would be a few hours before they could get to me because of scheduled appointments in the next hour. They had sent me a coupon for a free oil change and tire rotation. I've tried stopping by twice and had no luck getting an oil change in a reasonable time. My last three sets of tires (multiple cars) were purchased with them and all my routine maintenance for the past 2.5 years have been with them, but as of today I'm done with them. For anyone engrossed with this story and is just dying to know what I do now for service. Well I am currently sitting at O'Leary's automotive repair just down the road. They had 3 other people already in the waiting area, and my car was pulled into a bay within 10minutes. I gave O'Leary automotive my coupon for the free Midas oil change and told them it was worthless and asked him to throw it away. read more

When I left the gym this morning, my car wouldn't start. I happened to be next door to Midas, so I decided to stop in there. I was greeted by Jake, who I explained my situation to. He immediately got a mechanic, Tater, to look at my car. Not surprisingly, he said my battery was dead. At that point, he could've told me to call AAA or a tow truck, but instead he installed a new battery right there, in the gym parking lot! That went above and beyond expected customer service, especially since he was working on hot asphalt in direct sun - it was hot! With my new battery installed, I drove my car over to Midas to pay. Jake made sure I was good to go before sending me on my way. The outstanding service from Jake and Tater made this dead battery nothing more than a minor inconvenience. I cannot thank them enough, and Midas on Carolina Beach Road has made a customer for life!! read more

I stopped in today because the low tire pressure light came on in my car. The guys in the shop could not have been more helpful. They immediately checked my tire and saw hear I had a nail in it. They fixed it immediately, and the entire process was very quick, which I appreciated since I had my two kids with me as well. I brought my car here today because I had a tire that has been slowly leaking some air for quite some time. All of the employees were very friendly and courteous. It took them a while to fix the tire, but I know they were doing their best and being very thorough with finding the leak(s) and fixing it. They actually ended up not charging me for it, which was unexpected and very kind. I had a terrible experience recently with a different (local) mechanic down the road in which they charged me 500 dollars to fix my car, and the next day the same problem I took it in for persisted, and they have not contacted me to make it right. This left a bad taste in my mouth regarding mechanics, but my experience at Midas today was a positive one. From now on, I will be taking my car to Midas instead. read more

Exceptional service. They also have some sweet recliners you can spin around in while they take care of your vehicle. They're also in walking distance of that IHOP I did a review on earlier so if you show up on a busy day you can always go score some pancakes while they fix your car. I've done it more than once. A couple of times now they've actually stayed after closing time to make sure I could have my vehicle safely on the road by days end. They rock. read more

My husband took his car here to get inspected for our annual registration renewals. They tried to sell him on unnecessary work for tie rods. They said they would not pass until they were fixed, basically holding his inspection hostage until he forked over a ridiculous $450. Mind you, he had already had them repaired at Midas 2 years prior! He took it to another garage and his car passed with no problem. This is our first bad experience with Midas but heed warning, they are out to get as much money from you as possible. I would suggest to get second opinions for jobs they say will cost a ton because it might not even be necessary. They definitely lost our business. read more

Love going here in the morning they open really early so I can get my easy car fix in the morning before school. The customer service here is really good and they have comfy couches to sit on while your waiting. If you go here during the day they can be super busy so I try to only go here in the morning because the wait can take a long time. They always have coupons online and you can just pull it up on your phone which is convenient. read more

I have been going here for years for the convenience and due to the fact they are so nice. I hate to leave such a bad review but my newest experience was unforgettable. 1) several months ago they talked me into getting getting new tires that I probably didn't need. The main selling point was that I would get free tire rotations, which I now know they do with all oil changes for free anyway 2) In that same tire trip, they talked me into getting all of my fluids flushed. A month later I stopped in for an oil change when they tried to tell me I needed my fluids flushed. I told them I just had that done, and they said, 'oh you're right, sorry we have had some staff turnover lately' 3) I went in a few weeks ago to get an oil change and they somehow convinced me again that I needed to give them $800 or my car would explode lol. When I picked my car up, and drove it away, it had 4 new issues and 3 new noises. I have now taken it back 3 different times to resolve these issues; they cannot figure any of them out and of course are trying to claim the new issues have nothing to do with the work they did originally. I appreciate their efforts but enough is enough. Strike 3 and you are out. read more

The front end managers Chris and Rob do an excellent job explaining in detail the needed repair. They greet every customer with a smile and offer coffee to the customer who decides to wait.
