The car could not have passed the safety test it was a dangerous to drive this car on the road. The first time and second time I reported the problem, I was told the technicians didn't put the right ratio of refrigerant and oil mixture; then the same thing happened again and again... the last time I returned I was told that I have to wait until summer when it's hot outside so they can "fix" the problem!? That seemed strange but I did what they said and today (June 4th a hot Summer day at 95 degrees weather forecast, I have returned. They called 3 hours after I dropped off the car at their shop to inform me that they "discovered a leak" and needed o-rings at a cost of $324 to repair. It's apparent that they never did a competent job when they replaced the compressor the first time. The first time I went there was June 2023 and today is June 2024. The AC was not functioning properly since this issue happened (since it was not needed in the cooler weather days, I didn't have an urgent need for it and was never turned on. When we took the car to another mechanic in the Fall to change back to the winter tires, we were made aware of the risk of hairline cracks on the rims that can result from this going forward. Jiffy Lube's Manager failed to take responsibility, saying it is up to the customer to flag this and supply the lug nuts.
