First and last time coming here. It took 2 hours to get an oil change for some reason. Now not even a week after this service my car isn't starting all of a sudden. In my view, they should have to inform the customer that even if them recharging a vehicle's AC doesn't fix the problem (of non functional AC), they (Midas) won't refund the cost of the aforementioned service. It turned out there was a leak (discovered at a second servicing), and they quoted a potential fix of that leak for about $847. I declined to pay that, and so effectively the upwards of $200 that I paid for the initial service was for all intents and purposes money wasted (they elected to not refund me). I understand cars can be extremely costly, but Midas not electing to inform me of this potential reality prior to having me pay for the initial service is in my view predatory. Please, forget huge & greedy corporate options like Midas (like I should've), and instead spend your hard-earned money on local businesses. read more

Took my SUV in to get a headlight housing replacement. The guy couldn't quote me a price before they looked at it, even though I told them it was filling up with water, and even the guy said the whole housing probably needed replacement. So he said to leave the car, and they'll take a look at it. They call me after 20 minutes saying the headlight housing needs replaced and that it would cost $579. If I wanted both replaced, then $800+. This is absurd. I can buy a replacement on Amazon for $69 for one headlight and two for $115. They quoted me over $200+ for one headlight part, and $300ish for labor. What a joke. Then you charge me $20 for having to determine it needed replacing when we already knew it had to be replaced. Horrible service and price. Don't go here. They are screwing people over. read more

Reggie and his crew saved my entire psyche. I typically do my own automotive work and recently purchased a car with a slew of diagnostic codes within the same system. I spent a couple months finding a bad sensor and replacing it only to find another bad sensor, another leak, another failed mechanical part. I'm quickly learning my new car had a hard previous life. Eventually, I couldn't makes heads or tails of it. Nothing made sense. I took a car in to a shop for diagnostic for the first time in my life. They only charged me the quoted diagnostic fee, but I know they were crawling around my engine bay all day long on this goose chase. What a nightmare. Eventually, they found that two of the new sensors I had just replaced were defective from the factory and were now giving many of the same trouble codes but also masking the fact that each other were bad and, of course, one will always ere on depending on a brand new sensor to function. Excellent work! Definitely my first call and my #1 recommendation in the Fort Wayne area. read more

They yelled at me when I questioned why after 1 year I had to replace everything that they fixed. I needed clarification as to why after one year they were broken again. His explanation was parts are made in China not America. How does that help me actually feel confident in Midas repairing my breaks. and to be yelled at by the manager who tells me it is not his fault when I was just trying to understand the problems with my car and how I had to replace everything they fixed. Unfortunately I missed my warranty within one day. Had they told me they were only food for one year last year Inwoild have been back sooner. I was not telling Inwas asking clarifylong questions to educate myself. I had my cars repaired at Honda for many different reasons and when I asked questions they explained everything to me calm and clearl.y. I left Honda educatEd and reassured. Terrible service, I stopped in for a small break fluid leak. I left with a tow truck ride home and a broken hood latch. I drove my truck there just fine. Left with no breaks what so ever. I didn't even receive a apology or a 2nd thought as I waited in the parking lot for a tow truck. read more

Moved here from California in 1999 and never found another honest and friendly shop anywhere. Ft Wayne, IN Illinois Road location goes beyond taking care of you and your car. I have serviced 5 cars each year here and never got hosed over. They found fixes that the dealers tried many times but could never find the problem. I trust them with my Jaguar, Jeep Liberty(2), Nissan 300ZX and Nissan Quest. All have over 200,000 miles and they keep me running high mileage without ever a break down. Trust me, not all Midas are the same. Fishers, IN Midas and Largo, FL Midas are crooks and have gouged us badly with 500% markup on parts alone and unneccessary work. that was not performed. Midas Corp does not allow REVIEWS to show up on their sites. That tells you something is wrong at most Midas Stores. The managers get commissions on parts so they over sell what you really need. Find a good one in Ft Wayne and stick with them. read more

First off, I want to make it clear that is was my wife that took our 2008 minivan in for service at the Fort Wayne Midas store. I am currently overseas serving with the 122nd Fighter Wing (go Blacksnakes!). With 4 kids at home, the paycheck is tight and when the oil needed changed she found a coupon and headed to this location. I had just put on new brakes and rotors before my deployment in November, so you can imagine my surprise when my wife told me over Skype that she has spent over $800 on repairs because the manager there told here how dangerous the van was and the "original" rotors were bent. I was furious! Everything here is delayed and it was 2 days before I could call and reach the owner, Mike Emberton. I explained what happened and how I demanded a full refund. He told me he worked with that manager personally, and he would not be giving me any refund and didn't care if I came back again. I tried to explain my deployment (I don't like to use the military card) - he went on to tell me that we didn't have any right to be over in Afghanistan fighting a war that wasn't ours, and that he hopes that Obama will end the all the wars, and if I have another problem, call George Bush next time!!! I will be home in the spring I hope, and can't wait to share this story with anyone and everyone I meet back home. Anyone vets reading this ready to picket protest this place? read more

Went to Midas with my first SUV to get a tire rotation and oil change! The guy said we can't do your tire rotation because you got custom rims. I said: really, I have all four center caps off and the key to the locks! So they got an attitude and said I guess we can do it. The second time I went with my second SUV the guy came back and said: we can't do your tire rotation because you have 10 wrong lug nuts on your car and we can be reliable for it. I said: really, how when I brought you the car like that and for 2 those were the same lug nuts I have had on there since 2003 and no other place has ever complained! The guy then said: well, our guy has been doing tires for 20 years and said no, then gave me a paper saying if I wanted 10 new lug nuts it will be $145.00 extra! I said hell no and ripped up the paper in front of him and said just do my oil change! It seems like that hillbilly mechanic just looks for any reason not to do his damn job! I said to him: Midas needs to put all of that crap on the coupon when they send them out so that people don't waste there time going there! I then went home and ordered the same lug nuts they wanted to charge me $145.00 but I bought 16 of them on eBay for $13.98. Wow Midas, way to try and get over on people!!! read more
