I have previously had my car serviced by Down South Car Repairs a few times without drama…read more I went to them with the issue of my car over heating. The had the car for a full day; did some tests and supposedly 'serviced' my car but couldn't find the over heating issue. They charge my $205 for this. Exactly 1 week later the same issue occurred. I dropped my car off to Down South Car Repairs and their conclusion was it required a new thermostat (this was at 4:30pm when I was leaving to pick up my car). They kept my car for an additional day, the charge for this was $220. Again, a few days later the same issue occurred. Much frustration to myself as a car owner as I was under the impression that the issue had been fixed. After getting a second opinion the 'head gasket' in my car had blown. If gone undiagnosed this could have ultimately seized my engine. Whilst having this issue fixed through someone else; they did a full service on my vehicle. In doing so; they advised that the oil was 'black' and had not been changed in quote a while. I believe that Down South Car Repairs took advantage of myself and also the fact that I am a female and do not have an understanding of vehicles. I will never go there again and won't be recommending them to any one I know.

John, who runs the place, is one of those old school friendly, reliable and trustworthy mechanics. The repairs are always done promptly and well and they offer a "chauffeur service" if you can't get home. It is a small, family run business and it is run well. John's other mechanic whom I call "smiley" because he is, and I cant remember his name, is also great. Last time I had my car in for servicing he noticed some other little thing on the body of the car that was bent out of shape (don't ask me any technical terms ) and went out of his way to fix it. I would highly recommend this auto repairs, especially for females who don't know anything about cars because you won't get ripped off! Tip: It is a little hard to find when you go for the first time as the signage doesn't stand out.

Recommended from a friend who's used his services for over 20 years, Steve comes highly recommended. I've never met a mechanic who is so accomodating and helpful and will even offer you installments in finalising your service payments. I onced needed to find out how much it would cost to change my time belt and the works. He gave me a thorough break down of cost, detailed work to be done and even quoted where he would get the second hand parts from. Brilliant...in so many ways! With a good small team, showing excellent customer service and always providing service with a smile, I highly recommend Steve and his excellent staff.

Where do I start? I took my car to Ultra Tune Stirling after only ever going to Holden dealers. I…read moredropped my car off at 8.30am ready for a handbook service and was told they would call me at 12pm when it's read. Come 12.15pm I'd still heard nothing, eventually I got a phone call from them where they told me they were closing, I'd need to pay over the phone and they would leave my key on the tyre. When I came to pick up my car, sure enough my key was sitting on my tyre in clear view. Not to mention, weeks later I found they never put coolant in my car. Their head office is rude, so don't bother trying to resolve your issues with them. Unbelievable. Charge a premium price and don't fulfil it.
