TL:DR: Go here! Excellent service, great communication, and fair pricing. Everything one looks for in a service shop when having an issue with their car. I have had a few opportunities to use Midas since moving to Bridgeville/Oakdale, as my cars are fairly reliable. In this case, they were doing a vehicle inspection and code diagnosis on a low-milage but almost 10 year old car. This Midas performed the inspection, provided clear text message updates (with photos) of what they were seeing. I received this 15 - 20 mins before a call from the service manager who went over the findings with me. The car had a specific computer issue but had shown up as an emergency light. They easily could have recommended an expensive (and unnecessary service). Instead, I had an almost 10 min call with the service manager who explained the issue, noted the existence of an extended service warranty and recommended that the work be done at the dealership due to the software/hardware issue. This is not a one-of approach to business. They have done previous work and clearly discuss what is needed/required for safety and what is optional but recommended and why. This level of communication is so helpful in making informed decisions on cars. I really appreciated the honest communication and will be bringing both my vehicles here for maintenance as a result. read more

I was charged $360 for 30 minutes of work. Stopped in for an emergency repair, they were not busy so it was no hassle for them to get me in for service. Thermostat gasket, sensor, and coolant remove and replace. Approximately 30 minutes under the hood, more than $360 for just the labor, $560 +. Before starting they just gave me a total price for the repair without a breakdown of the services. They will quote you for 4 hours of work and if the job takes 1 hour, they will still charge you for the 4 hours. They will not work with you on the total and will say you agreed on it so you have to pay it. DO NOT GO TO Midas FOR REPAIRS. YOU WILL BE OVER CHARGED!!! read more

This is the only automobile repair shop I've ever been to where they let me inspect the vehicle while it's up in the air. Some dealerships you park your car and then the valet takes it somewhere and you're always dealing with a third-party. If I'm waiting for an oil change or something minor, right next-door is GetGo Deli and Starbucks if I want to hang out. read more

2 Parts to my story, and note, I am typically not one to complain about a place, it takes a lot. Monday - take my 2019 Golf R in to have my winter/summer tires flipped. Reminder they are 19''s so they don't fit on every machine. They take care of that but when i get home I notice small white scuffs on almost every spoke of the front driver tire, it's okay, little black sharpie touch up fine, there was also small similar spots on the back passenger but not as many. I let them know about it that night. Wednesday - go back, this time with my Girlfriends car for an oil change and inspection. Told them about the wheels again just as a heads up, not going after them financially or anything for damage, it is what it is. Eric (tall skinny guy) got defensive about his tire machine and Teflon this blah blah. Look man just own it, and I showed him pictures. And again I wasn't even that upset about it. So then, THEY COMPLETELY DENY me service to my girlfriends car because of the liability that we might come back and say they damaged something. Look I drove 30 minutes out of my way to that location to have this done. He just kept saying "we aren't going to touch it, we just aren't going to touch it" I thought he was maybe referring to the damage of the wheels so I was like okay let's just drop it. But when he said he wasn't going to do her car, I admit, I got a little upset. Said it was ridiculous and I made a special trip to that location, the least they could have done is called me that morning and said don't bother bringing it in. So I called the guy an A-hole and he said SAME TO YOU! Unbelievable. Nice Customer Service Skills there, Good Job Midas, Good Job. You'll never see another penny from me or anyone I know again. Took it to Honda the next day rather than shell out for repairs, and certified technicians determined no such problem existed, and I got my sticker no problem, $25. Came in for an 8 am appointment, my truck went back at 9 am. Needed an oil change, tires rotated and a look at the muffler because it sounded loud. As the waiting room filled up, and other people started asking me what time I came in, because their cars were still waiting to be pulled in way past their appointment times, frustration levels were high all around the waiting room. As it turns out, my truck "needed" over $1500 of repairs. As luck would have it, the only guy that could fix it, hadn't rolled out of bed... or rather "a personal sitution " that made it hard for him to get to work before noon on a Monday morning. He would be in any moment. (which translated to about an hour after playing 20 questions with the manager) I had them take it off the rack, and then watched my truck outside, engine running and door open for 20 min, because the guy kept organizing his charts, and taking phone calls, as I stood at the desk waiting to pay for the oil change. I went to another service center (NTB in Bethel Park) later in the week and told did not need the repairs. STAY AWAY!! read more

Terrible service!!! I tried to get my car inspected here. I called a head of time to see if I could come in. I was told it wouldn't be a problem. I put the address in the GPS and it said it would take me an hours to get there because of traffic. I called back to make sure I'd be able to get my car inspected. They told me it wouldn't be a problem. So I sat in traffic for an hour and when I got there I was told there are no spots open and I have to schedule ahead of time for that. Terrible service and now I get to drive an hour in traffic back to my house after working a 12 hour shift. read more

Nobody likes to be lied to, but....When dealing w auto service, trust is particularly important. Literally my safety, maybe my life is dependent on the services provided. I've had my car at this shop twice. The first time was for new brake pads. No complaints. The second time, I needed an oil change. As part of their complimentary checkup I was informed that my tires were in immediate need of replacement due to uneven wear and that driving the car put me at risk for a tire "blowing". I was given a quote for 4 new tires. $800-$1000 depending on the brand. Luckily, I went to Calabro Tires, where I've bought tires for the last 10 years, for a price check/2nd opinion. Calabro's professional employee examined the tires and I was told the tires are completely safe and would easily pass State inspection. I hardly ever write a review, but taking advantage of people when your job is to report about something as important as road safety, is something I cannot ignore. read more

Disappointing to say the least... I booked an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation online, I received an email saying my time was fine and a follow up call from the location to confirm. This was the best part of the experience. After arriving I was told it would be about 45 minutes (no problem, I had paperwork to do so I didn't mind the wait) after about 30 minutes I was told I would get a "tour." I was asked to come into the garage, which the door clearly stated everyone that entered must wear safety glasses, no one had them on and I was not offered a pair. I've had several eye surgeries so I was naturally concerned with the safety of the situation or lack there of. I was then shown that I needed new brakes and rotors, I don't know much about cars but the man seemed like he was trying to sell me something, I wanted to trust his professional opinion and said if it needs to be done, let's move ahead, I did ask for a quote before agreeing to the work. I went back to the waiting area, the same man brought out the paperwork and told me what a good deal they were going to offer me. The final price came out to $830ish. I wanted to touch base with my husband about it as my car hadn't been driving any differently so I just wanted to make sure he agreed that it was something that had to be done today. He did not agree with the quote. The man came back out and acted as if it was a very dangerous situation for me to drive my car home. He made comments that made me feel uncomfortable and it seemed like he was insinuating that my husband was putting me in an unsafe situation. He only managed to make me never want to return to the Midas location I was currently standing in. After getting home I was able to have the work done the next day for $400 and I wasn't treated like an idiot. I also went online and read reviews and it seems like I'm not the only one that has left feeling the way I did, it's so unfortunate that the man thinks he's a sales person and has no idea how to do the job. He needs to work on his selling skills and learn that it's not okay to treat customers as if they are idiots! I did a quick google search while waiting and instantly knew they were grossly overcharging! I 100% would never recommend going to this location, it was an awful experience! read more

I highly recommend giving this shop a chance, as a poor college kid I have saved tons of money by going to this shop. I personally still drive 30 miles to this location even though there is a branch 10 minutes from my house. I have only ever had issues with one person, so I highly recommend during your visit or when you call to ask for Chris the manager. Eddy who is no longer there was also an amazing mechanic! Every single time something has been wrong with my car I have had a walk through of what is wrong with it hands on. I have never guessed if they were lying because I had my eyes for proof. I am beyond thankful for this shop getting me in even when I have been in a pinch for time. You can trust Chris to steer your car in the right direction, even if you can not afford the repairs he is beyond helpful about making honest recommendations until you are able to take care of it. read more

If I could give this location negative stars, I would. My wife needed her car inspected and had some issues with her battery dying. We took her car for first visit, were overcharged for the service, and told "you're 100% fixed". 2 days later, she drove it again and all the dash lights came on, her power steering shut off (which hadn't occurred before), and the car died. We took it for a second visit and we're told it needed a new tensioner belt. They charged us again (over $1200 total now), and AGAIN said we're sure you're fine now. OF COURSE, my wife was driving the car and experienced the same issues. On the THIRD visit, they told us the FIRST alternator that was installed by them "was bad". They also made a sarcastic comment about us being lucky we got the second one "for free". Finally, We drove the car for a trip to reset the sensors to complete the emissions test, as instructed, AND AGAIN THE BATTERY DASH LIGHTS CAME ON and we had difficulty making it home. We took it back for YET A FOURTH TIME and they said the recent issues were because of a wire. At this point, we took it to the dealer, who told us Midas didn't put the right alternator in. When we went back to deliver are update and simply request they make it right for the four trips we made, and still did not have a working car, the manager said "dealers are pieces of shit", and told us "the dealer was trying to F*ck us". We told him we just wanted him to make things right because we still took it there 3 times and the car wasn't working properly. Eric then proceeded to drop F bombs and said he'd refund money "if we bring him back the original part AND video of the dealer removing it". At this point, we again asked if a few hundred dollars was worth him causing a scene in front of several other customers in the lobby. He continued to swear and blame the dealer. At this point, we said we'd contact an attorney, maybe the media, and asked for his district manager contact info. We will be pursuing all courses of action. I would recommend avoiding this location... if for no other reason, than the fact the manager likes to treat women like dirt and swear at customers... all of this over a few hundred dollars and we probably would have still been their customers!! read more

Took my car to Midas for a State inspection & emissions test. After dropping off my car, a few hours later I received a phone call from Midas saying my car passed all emissions but there were a few "safety" issues with my brake pads, calibers, and rotors. This was alarming because I wasn't having any type of issues or trouble with my car. I was quoted a price of about $1,200.00 to fix these issues. Being in ticket shock and a little upset, I called my dad to ask him if this sounded correct. He informed me to go pick up my car and take it to a trusted, local auto mechanic for a second opinion. Two days later, I have my car looked at again for a state inspection and it passed without any needed repairs. I would say support your local, small businesses before ever giving these guys a chance. Lesson learned and never going back. read more

I went for a brake pad replacement under their warranty. They tried to sell me over $1,200 in additional unnecessary work. I had just had the items check by the dealer 2 days before, or I might have fallen for it. The manager changed from "You must do this" to "It's only a recommendation based on mileage". The 90 minute repair took over 3 hours, even though they did less work than what was estimated when I made the appointment. Their tech decided that the rotors did not need to be turned, saving 30 minutes off the estimated time. When I went to leave I noticed that one of my hubcaps was loose. I had the tech check it. With the manager watching it virtually fell into his hand. It was clear that one of the clips had been very recently broken. I asked the manager if he would replace it. He refused saying that it was only plastic and it was Toyota's fault for the design. I said I've had the car fixed at Toyota and Pep Boys and never had a problem of this sort either place. This has happened before at this same Midas. I should mention that they charged me for a "kit" for the brake pad replacement. The kit was the same price other places would have charged me for the pads. So much for the lifetime warranty. I was on my way to work when my cell phone rang. The tech had forgotten to put on the inspection stickers. They wanted me to come back. I asked them to credit my card for the state inspection. The service manager refused and insisted I return so he could put the stickers on. I did go back after work to get my stickers, but it was the last time they will see me. Followup: The owner contacted me. He offered to replace my hubcap - I accepted the offer and he said they would call me. That was over a month ago and I'm still waiting. read more

I was given an outrageous estimate for cost of repair that thankfully I was listened to advice to go else where. Where I found out the actual price of the only piece needed was $57.00. I had steering fluid leak in Toyota Highlander, went there couple weeks before for diagnosis and they quested me something arround 450 to fix it. I told them I will come back later to get it fixed because I needed car that day. They told me to pay 150 and when I come back to fix they will deduct that 150 from the total invoice. Today they fixed car and denied to deduct that 150!!!!! The manager said he remembers saying that but he will not deduct that amount because then then he will be working for free as the reduced amount will cover only for parts ??? Makes no sense. I am never going back to this place. Stay away. This place is full of liars and ready to rip off. read more

I got a blown tire and the only place I could make it to was the Bridgeville Midas shop. The service guy as I dropped the vehicle off was very nice. They could not replace the blown tire at that time so I left the vehicle over night. I got call the next day and they didn't have a tire to replace mine so they said it may be a couple of days. I was able to get a tire so I brought them the tire. My wife dropped the tire off and told them I would need the car shortly after 5. I got there after 5 and car was not finished. The service attendant said you said not until shortly after 5 and I sad it is shortly after 5. Almost an hour later my tire was installed and I left. Here it is 4 days later and I was driving to work. Heard a noise from what sounded like the tire. Thought maybe they didn't balance the tire correctly. I got on 79 and the noise got much worse. I pulled off 79 and turned around to go back to the Midas. I pulled into the shop and a mechanic came out to ask what the issue was. I explained the issue and he check and saw that several of the lug nuts were close to falling off. He went and checked the computer and saw that they person who did the job and said oh, not surprised. He offered me a free oil change the next time I came in. Nothing was written down. The service guy was also there so I spoke to him to explain how upset I was that it was a very dangerous situation. He agreed and apologized and told me to call back later an speak to another person. Regardless of them offering me some solution to make me happy. Nothing would make me happy with the complete negligence. I am lucky the tire didn't fall off and either cause injury to me or someone else on the road. Sure they may fire this guy, which I feel they should. Something so basic as tightening lug nuts should not be missed especially when that is all you are doing. I would never recommend this place. read more

I needed some exhaust pipes re-sealed at the manifolds. Rather simple procedure for a professional, it's an unbolt-rebolt operation with some gasket hassle. I installed an all new system on the ground with only a few specialized tools, but didn't achieve a seal. So I wanted a pro to do it. I typed up a history of what I did, explained the symptoms in detail and outlined what I thought needed done, but also stated that I was open to alternatives because I am not a pro. Even more, I modeled the flange end at the manifold in 3D software showing the seals and added callouts to aid in communicating the problem visually. I went in to talk to the clerk to see if he was interested in the work TO AVOID WASTING TIME WITH DISINTERESTED REPAIR SHOPS. He responded positively and said that it would not even be an hour of labor. So I scheduled an appointment and dropped it off one evening. Two days later I get a call and am told that the chief technician stared at it for two hours and didn't know what to do. I asked if he read my accompanying documentation and he said yes. What did this tell me? I was not worth their time and effort for even a simple repair. Anyone with a brain and who knows how to read can understand what I wrote. And if not, there were pictures. I even included the factory stock exhaust layout diagram. Their technician must not have any experience if that job looked daunting. All I wanted was an expert to make quick work of something they should do everyday. I didn't find it there. I won't go back because there is no expertise there. I'd have paid real money to get it fixed but that is their loss. If I scared the technician by providing information, or appeared to have insulted his ego I'm not sorry. I'm not sorry for knowing a thing or two and trying to communicate it for his benefit. Customers are people first. Don't go there unless you are completely oblivious to how cars work and will accept whatever they say. read more

Absolute worst service related experience of my life! These people are completely incompetent and the 'customer service" is atrocious. On October 4th my car stopped running; was obviously an electrical issue. So I had car towed (the first of 4 tows--you read that right) and they replaced the alternator; which they charged $440 for ($560 w/labor).An alternator for my car is available BRAND NEW at Advance Auto parts for $139.99. Also replaced the battery. Gladly paid as I just wanted it fixed. So about 10 days pass and same thing happens. Have it towed again, the smug manager declares "bad battery" and replaces it. A new battery is very, very rarely bad but it does happen. 3 days later car quits on I79 in the middle of the night. Have it towed back again. Smug manager again says bad battery, this time we have a back and forth and he's sure he's right so I grudgingly accept it. The very next night it quits AGAIN in the middle of the night (I deliver the PG) and I sit in an ice-cold car for 4 hours waiting for a tow. Finally get towed in @ 730am and I was livid. Say to manager " WILL YOU PLEASE FIX MY CAR RIGHT. He replies "Don't blame me, Im just the guy behind the desk" Who SHOULD I blame? "Blame your car" he says and adds "Im not taking any attitude today" and puffs out his chest.Then explains "We'll check for a drain but we're not electrical experts" Obviously, but why didn't he tell me that the 2nd time in? Or the 3rd? I called their District Manager who was somewhat helpful; it took them from 730AM until 430 to get it fixed. They never told me what they did or offered anything it writing just handed me the keys. So, after 4 calls to AAA. 2 missed nights of work and an $877 bill I decide to try and get the charge reversed. 3 calls to District manager unreturned, 3 emails to district manager unanswered, 2 emails to Midas corporate unanswered, 2 phone calls to corporate unanswered. NOTHING. Terrible all around. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS--SCAM CITY!! read more
