I had an oil change a couple of months ago, and I had to return because the oil plug wasn't tightened properly and it was leaking. I went back again this past Saturday for another oil change, and my husband later noticed an oil stain in the driveway. We checked, and once again it appears the plug was not tightened correctly. Please make sure that the oil plug is properly tightened after every oil change. Oil changes are not cheap anymore, and something like this can cause serious engine damage. I'm glad my husband noticed it in time, but this is very concerning. I would appreciate it if extra care is taken to ensure everything is secured properly moving forward, as I would prefer not to return again for the same issue." Avoid this place i needed a flex pipe my friend owns a repair shop out of state ask him how much it should cost he say don't pay more than $300 . I told the guy i needed a flex pipe they went to check car than he said it's going to cost $749 because of welding and nobody going to do it cheaper . I told him fuck no . Someone told me about fast muffer they did it for $159 and welded it. read more

If you want to be scammed, go here. They put a brand new flex pipe on my car to pass inspection...only to have holes in it one year later. It was "taped" to stop the exhaust noise. They will not honor to replace it and it was verified by a mechanic this was the original flex pipe when I bought the car. They want to charge me $275 for labor. The store manager and the mechanic i met were both friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I did have my fluids checked and they should have been topped off but I had almost no oil and no windshield wiper fluid and who knows what else they didn't do ? Was it just a misunderstanding, incompetence or something more malicious ? I've been to this garage many times. They have done honest work and helped me out of a bind when I needed help. There is no long wait just to get your car in to get fixed. It's quick and easy. I was also given some high cost estimates for work and discovered it was unnecessary to spend all that much money at another garage. Just use common sense going to this garage and make the most of it. Mechanics are in high demand and its hard to find a place you can trust where ever you go. read more

The Midas off of Union Blvd. in Allentown has mechanics there that work off the record and mess us people's cars so they have to go back for more work. Don't trust any of these people because you might be in for a ride. It's sad how people take advantage of others. Those little Spanish guys are the worst because they have bad values. Avoid this Midas shop. The manager Johnny tried to charge me $750 to replace the center exhaust pipe and muffler on my Toyota Camry. The muffler should have been covered under warranty. Johnny flatly refused to honor the Midas warranty on the muffler. A different Midas shop told me the job should cost around $300. read more

alert!!! service was not done at this facility, however, the owner from the whitehall location owns this site too! beware of horrible business practices. taking this place to court for fraudulent practices. the injustice is real! see the attached pictures. there was constant brake noise and vibration because the mechanics never changed the old hardware, used cheap aftermarket brakes/rotors and they used an excessive amount of brake grease which could have caused major damage to my vehicle long term! these are aftermarket rotors and brakes! midas will not own up to the fact that they installed aftermarket parts on my car and falsified the invoice stating they installed oem kia equipment which breaches the warranty that comes with the parts.. the regional/district manager and store owner were all uncooperative. people please be skeptical of this place and always get a second opinion. read more

We take my husband's car here. We normally eschew chain car places as the prices tend to be high, but we've had nothing but good luck at this location. They are always running some sort of special for inspection...we only paid $35 this year for both state and emissions inspection...woohoo! This year we failed (boo!) and the price he quoted for the repair was more than fair. We did call around and couldn't find anyone to beat it. And then we took it in for the repair and he ended up $80 less than the estimate. You can't beat that. What I like the most though is how flexible they are with regular customers. We took it in for inspection and when we were trying to decide whether to repair the car or get rid of it (it's woefully old), he let us take it home same day without paying a penny for his services while we figured it out. We'd been in enough that he knew us, and we really appreciated that. read more

This is a great shop. Kevin, the owner, really goes above and beyond to take care of his clients. The best part by far is the fact that he is up front and honest about what needs to be done on the car, and what really isn't a big deal, or can wait. It's a breath of fresh air, and I think it's better for business too. If he says something needs to be done, I can take him at his word. Recently, I had to replace the headliner in my car, and even though it was a Saturday and likely to run overtime, Kevin got in there with his crew to make sure it got done. He was skeptical they'd make it on the phone, but when I came to pick up my car, expecting we'd have to leave the headliner for another day, they had installed it and done a solid job. I went to this shop becasue I needed brakes. I left my car there and a few hrs later was called with a quote for $1300.00. I was told that if I did not get those items on my car fixed it would crash and breakdown within hours. I asked for them to fax the information and it included repairing parts that I never know my car had. I then took it a block away for a second opinion and the garage told me after inspecting it that needes brakes. I asked that they replaced all the brakes. I paid $243.00 total. I would not give a 1 star but they had nothing lower. read more

I stopped in to this Midas location to get 1 tire changed and mounted on Thursday 2/11. I also had them rotate my tires. The pricing was pretty good, but the wait time was way too long considering the work that had to be done; as well as the attention to detail, which was way too subpar for me to overlook. There was only 1 other customer waiting for their car at the location, and I ended up spending over 2 hours there waiting despite the guy behind the counter telling me it would be about 30 minutes total. Saying this, I would have overlooked the wait because the pricing was so great, but when my tire pressure light came on 5 minutes after leaving, I cannot keep my mouth shut. I checked all my tires. The tire that was changed was at 25 psi- when the driver side panel that indicates the suggested psi clearly states 39 psi. The rest of my tires were at 33 psi. Considering the extreme cold we have been having I understand this, but when you pay for a tire change and rotation, you would think they would check my tire pressure before telling me the car was done. I would not recommend this place. read more

I came in needing my starter replaced and they gave me an estimate of $500 which I could not afford. The guy at the counter saw the concern in my eyes and told me about their financing options. I instead called a few places and firestone gave an estimate of $300. I told the guy that we found another garage to do it cheaper and after he made a sarcastic comment about hoping we don't get ripped off once we get there and they realize where the starter is, he said he was going to start the car for us so that we could leave. He came back and said that he couldn't get the car to start (even though the car was never taken off the jacks and threfore he never tried to start it) and then he matched the estimate of Firestone. read more

So the people at Midas are amazing!!!! I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else again. Apparently the last time we took the car in to check what the sound was (to another place), the guys said the brakes will need to be done soon and all of the noise coming from the hood was just because the car is older but it's nothing to worry about. Meanwhile the people at Midas said that all of the noise is coming from the break in the exhaust system which originates near the engine in the manifold (I think that's what they said) and should have been changed way back then. Over time, with it getting worse, that's when the CO and other noxious gases started smelling in the car. Also, they (the other place) shouldn't have passed the car for inspection because the brakes were bad and so were the tires. There's no way that either things could have gotten this bad so fast if they were truly up to inspection when we had the car inspected. So today they're putting on 4 new rotors, 4 new brake pads, 4 new tires, aligning the wheels, and replacing the exhaust system. They brought us (my mom and I) back and took us under the car to see exactly what was going on. They shopped around for the tires that we wanted and felt comfortable with. They talked us through everything in a courteous and respectful manner never once condescending or taking advantage of our lady lack of car knowledge. They even offered to take us home and when we mentioned needing to run errands, they even offered to drop us off at our destination and pick us up. Obviously we were fine with being taken home. Now the car will be ready soon so they're going to send someone over to come pick us up. That's excellent service!! read more

I was recently told my car needed front and back brake pads and was given a HUGE quote. I called Midas and spoke to Kevin, the manager, who was very informative and helpful in giving me a quote as to how much the work would cost. He offered for me to come in right away to have the work done. I could not make it that day so they offered me a convenient time for the following day. I took it in and my car was taken back immediately. One of the guys came out and called me back. He showed me exactly what the rear pads looked like and also explained he would find out if I needed new roders as well. When I asked him about the front he told me that I did not need front pads. I was shocked due to the previous mechanic telling me I absolutely needed them to pass inspection. A while later they came out again and told me I was in luck I only needed the pads on the back and that would be it. I appreciated this honest more then they could possible imagine. I was struggling to come up with the amount of money needed to replace brakes and 18 inch tires on my car. Kevin offered me tire replacement as well but when I told him the deal I got at another establishment he honestly told me it was a great one. I was able to use a 20.00 coupon and saved 200.00 going to this Midas location. The waiting room was comfortable, I was offered coffee and was even able to use their internet connection to get some work done on my lap top while waiting. I was told 2 hours and the car was done in EXACTLY 2 hours. The atmosphere was clean and friendly with an array of magazines and a television with the news on. Overall I was impressed with their honesty as I am a 31 year old woman who knows absolutely nothing about car repair. Thanks guys so much for saving me some money in such a hard economic time. i have been going to midas for the past year and a half or so and they are the most honest mechanics you will ever find. they explain everything to you in detail and if you don't understand they will explain it in more detail until you do understand. they tell you how it is and what needs to be done. the do their absolute best to accomodate you in every way...be careful his coffee is strong :-) read more
