I made a 9:00 a.m. appointment to have my thermostat replaced and my state inspection completed…read more Almost six hours later, I called to check on my vehicle, only to be told that they had discovered another problem: a radiator leak that they claimed would cost thousands of dollars to repair. I went back to the shop to retrieve my vehicle and have the inspection done elsewhere. I asked the mechanic who supposedly discovered the problem how long my vehicle had been inside the shop. He told me approximately 35 minutes. When I inspected the engine bay myself, I noticed coolant spray marks all over the hoses, parts of the engine, and the battery. I decided I did not want them performing any additional repairs and went to the office to retrieve my keys. To my surprise, they demanded nearly $200 for what they described as a visual inspection that had taken approximately 35 minutes. After bringing my vehicle home, I cleaned the coolant stains from the hoses, engine, battery, and surrounding areas. I continued driving my vehicle to work for the next four days. I eventually confirmed that the radiator was leaking, but the leak I observed was a steady drip that allowed coolant to run onto the ground--not coolant spraying all over the engine bay as it appeared when I picked up the vehicle. In the end, I had my thermostat and radiator replaced at another shop for a total of $1,800, including parts and labor. My biggest concerns are the lack of transparency, the excessive charge for the inspection, and the condition in which my vehicle was returned to me. The experience left me questioning how the situation was handled and whether I could trust this shop with my vehicle. I would not recommend this place based on my experience. Save yourself the frustration and consider getting a second opinion before authorizing expensive repairs. Make sure you understand any diagnostic or inspection fees before allowing work to begin.

BAD ASSES OF THE VALLEY…read more I went to Firestone Allentown when I experienced car trouble. I thought it was the transmission given the way it sounded and that I could not find any other examinable source of the noise. I tried to get my vehicle to this shop but my vehicle could not make it, and so I walked the last five minutes of the drive. Firestone was able to send a tow truck an hour and half later and retrieve the vehicle. They promptly looked at it and discovered the problem was with a brake caliper coming off. This was a simple fix, and as was necessary, they continued to examine the entire brake system and the remainder of the car for defects. Although one may argue this was an attempt to get more money, they found profound problems with the rear brakes. I know enough about brake systems to know if one leaks and gets air into the system then the whole system has no ability to stop the vehicle. So I had the rear brakes repaired as well. They also identified my vehicle was burning oil, so they added some. Some of the other problems with the vehicle Firestone identified I did not have anything done about since they were negligible problems for the time being. They did a great job showing me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle. They did not charge me for towing, nor for rotating the tires since all of the tires were off the vehicle anyway. They fixed things relatively fast given I had not made an appointment. The three staff members I dealt with were always courteous and the price was fair. I have no complaints about Firestone and they performed from start to finish like true bad asses. I would recommend these men and this Firestone to anyone.

Original post from 9/30/2026 below: *LONG REVIEW BUT WORTH READING* After years of NOT having service on my vehicle with this establishment because of terrible service, price gouging, and repeat flat tires after service, I decided to take my car in for state inspection being told that they have "turned a new leaf" with new management and mechanics. It was another horrible decision on my part. I was told to drop my car off at 8AM and they would have it inspected by the end of the day. To make it easier, I dropped it off the previous evening during normal business hours and confirmed that the inspection would take place the following day. I gave them the information of my vehicle and was immediately told that the "inspection machine" was down and asked if anyone had contacted me. I said no and I was told the inspection would not be completed. Please keep in mind that I rearranged my entire day to be without a car. I was obviously upset since I then needed to find an alternative to have this service completed at another time with another supplier. When I arrived to retrieve my car the service tech explained that they had no idea why my vehicle was there and didn't know who to contact about it. My question was, if you didn't know why the vehicle was on property why would the first thing out of your mouth during the phone conversation be "our inspection machine is down." AND!!!...How do you not know why a car is there in the first place? The "sleeve" had my key, insurance and registration cards and a work ticket that they brought in to the customer area from the shop. Keep in mind, the person I worked with when dropping the car off was the "Manager". If the Manager doesn't know what he's doing how can he "Manage" the employees? The blind is certainly leading the blind! This location is just another example of horrible customer service, no courtesy for their customers time, and complete lack of decency. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! Unfortunately for me, I trusted the words of an acquaintance and gave this organization another shot because the location was convenient. If I could leave a review with zero stars that's where I would be. I wish luck to anyone using their service but be prepared for complete disappointment with a very high price tag.
