Very thankful for the kids section crew! Love being able to go online to my account and order a book, recheck a book, or look at what's going on. The DVD selection is ample.

I frequent several libraries... my fav is the Franklin but come to the Middletown and miamisburg (…read moreDayton) sometimes. The staff are nice at all. If I put something on hold at all 3 ... I will get it faster from Franklin and slowest from Miamisburg (Dayton) but sometimes the bigger libraries have something my little Franklin library doesn't. Middletown library isn't in the best neighborhood not sure how the other branches are ... id bet nicer. Most always see several homeless and sketchy people outside and around the entrance. I smells of pot are likely. Once a saw a huge roach there after I set my audiobook on their chair. Made me never sit on their chair again. I came at night once yo drop off things that were due and had a bad experience a man tried to car jack me but I got away. It was obviously last time I went near it at night. They do sometimes have a security guard inside but at Franklin I feel safer and never had bad experience.

The staff at the library was comprised of some of the unhappiest people on earth. Nobody was willing to help me; the most I got were directions leading to the non-fiction section. The library itself was rather large and probably stocked with a lot of great reads; just, next time, it would be nice if someone could tell me where to find them. Isn't that what a library is all about?

The Blue Ash Branch Library, known as the Sycamore Branch until 2001, is another nice library in…read morethe area. It's an old building, dating back to 1964, although they completed a renovation and expansion in 1987. It does not appear to be all that big, but when you go in you realize it is very spread out and has a lot offer. The very spacious library has a large room for children, a Teen Source section which is larger and offers more seating (including comfortable bean bag chairs) than Madeira's Teen Scene, and there are plenty of desks and chairs and computers scattered throughout, making it a great place to work or simply read. One draw back about the Blue Ash branch compared to the one in Symmes is they don't have a drive-through book drop off. And unlike a Blockbuster where you just pull up front and quickly jump out of your car to drop something through the video slot, at the Blue Ash library you have to park, walk across the small lot, and then go up a bunch of stairs or inclined plane to drop off your books or CDs or DVDs. Really, it's not that big of a deal, but it really isn't all that convenient either. The one other thing that bothers me about the Blue Ash Branch Library is that you have to get a key from the front desk to access the restrooms. Talk about inconvenient. Other than that though, the staff is friendly and nice, the building is a bit old, yet still nice, and they offer a computerized self-checkout and some great outdoor places to sit and read, making it another very good library in town.

We have enjoyed summer…read moreconcerts here, and there are nearby restaurants to take out food to snack on while enjoying the music. Viewers usually bring their own lawn chairs, and it's very family-friendly. An extra plus is the great public restrooms behind the stage, up near the memorial. They're heated in the winter and always very clean! It's also a convenient stop when you're on a run and need a pitstop!

I had to go on a dreaded Saturday to renew and get an updated driver's license because I was flying…read moreout of town that afternoon. I wanted to make sure I had the proper documents, (and if TSA would really accept an expired license because there was no way to find out from the airport.) But when I called the BMV the day before, whoever answered wasn't sure. When I tried to call back before going many times, no one ever answered the phone. Of course Saturday is crazy busy, with parking even hard to find. I'd recommend going on a weekday. The system for waiting was very efficient, with a machine to enter your cell so you'd be texted, as well as your line number displayed up on a monitor when ready. I only waited 15 minutes, which wasn't bad considering the crowd. The driver's license renewal went smoothly. I guess there's some kind of system back up, because my license had to be mailed out 4-6 weeks later. They gave me a print out of it I could use wherever needed. There was major confusion though over our handicapped hang tag. They'd given us one with a wrong number on it previously and told us to come back in for a new one (in a handwritten letter.) The clerks asked for the letter, which we didn't have. They decided after talking it out amongst themselves in front of us that our current tag is fine. I really hope so! I was also able to register to vote and change my address at this bureau. Tips: they take cash, credit or check. This bureau also does title transfers and title service, has a notary service and many other services.
