Woodbourne Library is one of two branches of the Washington-Centervile Library system, with the…read moreother being the Centerville Library located just 3 miles south from this location. As of this review, it's open from 10am-9pm during the week, 10am-5pm on Saturdays and 1pm-5pm on Sundays. All Dayton Metro Library branches are closed on Sundays, so this is a nice option to have in the area. The most recent renovation and expansion to this facility occurred in 2018, and it remains clean and well-maintained. Reservable spaces include three 'quiet' rooms for up to 4 people, two meeting rooms for 4-6 people, a creative space for up to 20 people, and a large community room for up to 80 people. Of note, the three quiet rooms have a single, small round table, which makes it difficult for more than 2 people to use at the same time. The meeting rooms are located in the middle of the library and lack windows to the outside. Other spaces include a few scattered smaller tables in the front of the library and one 4 person table in the far back corner which is usually highly sought after as it is isolated from the other areas and provides some privacy. In addition, there are four 4-person tables in the middle with outlets, and three 2-person tables adjacent to these, although without outlet access. In another area, they have some other 2-person tables with dividers in the middle thus making them individual spots. There are lots of reading chairs spread throughout. Although this may sound like a lot, the tables (particularly the 4-person ones) fill up rather quickly, so I've always thought they could use a few more. I've also noticed that this library is rather busy most of the time, especially compared to some of the others in the area.

I have been at the new library several times now, and each experience has been great. Admittedly I…read morehave not been there for the books but for the environment. I currently telecommute for work but working at home can be a little isolating. So I go to the library to work in a quiet environment that allows me to focus yet is open and bright(lots of windows). The furniture is comfortable, there is free WiFi, the librarians are pleasant and helpful, and as a town resident I can reserve a meeting room for times that I need to talk on the phone with my co-workers. I know that this is not the traditional use of the library but since we pay taxes to support it, as long as I don't disturb anyone else in the process, I feel perfectly good about it. I wrote my dissertation in a public library years ago and came to appreciate them not only for this sort of thing but as a continuing center of the community. They are a hive of activity that we should maintain. And for me, when I take breaks from work, I enjoy the magazines and books available to me. Support your local library!

The DML Miamisburg Branch is a quiet little library somewhat off the beaten path. When you walk in,…read moreyou'll notice the vaulted ceiling surrounding the middle of the library with lots of windows allowing plenty of natural light. Group spaces include two quads with space for up to 4 people, two group rooms for up to 8 people, one conference room for up to 10 people and a community room for up to 45 people. They also have a quiet reading room with two 4-person tables and several reading chairs. My first time visiting I had trouble finding where to park, as there is not a lot attached to the building. The Miamisburg Board of Education building is directly north of the library and has some parking on its' south end, but I wasn't sure if library patrons were allowed to park there. I drove around the block and ended up parking in a street spot on 6th St. Once inside, I learned the lot used for the library is actually across 6th St, just northeast of the library. Although, signs for this would have been helpful. Overall though, another great DML branch!

Story times are a blast but some do require a sign up. I would check out the website or call ahead before dropping in to confirm. The kids section is HUGE and has a nice play area for kids under the age of six. There are iPads and other devices with activities for older children. I'm not too knowledgeable about the older kids programs but I've seen photos friends have posted online and they look like a lot of fun. My favorite part about this library is the events they host in the evening for adults. I love all of the crafting events! These are always sign up only and fill up quickly. They post about the events on the Facebook page and tell you what day sign ups begin. You can sign up online but I find it best to call in early that day and sign up. I've attended a few painting classes, wine glass painting, book purse making, etc. We eat, we chat, we craft! It's a great girls night activity! And if they happen to have another murder mystery night, do yourself a favor and sign up! The actors are interactive and they let you explore the library to find clues and grill the suspects. I've recently moved away and miss my small town library!

Recent covid situation has caused some…read morechanges... you put things on hold and you can either go in to pick them up or call for them to bring it out. You cant walk around the library or get things off the shelves yourself. The low rating several reasons. I returned 6 dvds while they were still open but they still charged me late fees and when I called they didnt take fee off. It's in a shady part of town I have seen homeless around and in loitering around the lobby. I have seen drug deals happen outside and inside. They have security guy and cameras but one person can only do so much. they have BUGS. I had a movie and audio book on hold ... picked it up ... but decided to look at a few magazines. I only looked for 20 minutes. When I went to the counter to check out ... they opened the cases to make sure they had the disks inside ... out ran a cockroach the size of my thumb!!! THEY tried to blame me... asking if I had it in my purse or book bag. I didnt ... just their shelf and laid it in their chair while I looked at the magazines. They made it sound like it wasnt uncommon for their chairs to be infested. I will never sit in their chairs ... unless its plain plastic. No cloth chairs or anything with cushions...better safe than bug infested. I have personally seen they have roaches. They seemed to think they were attracted by the adhesive on the sticky note . I'm weirded out about bugs.
