After visiting a different Dayton Metro Library branch last week and being rather impressed, I…read moredecided to stop by the Southeast (Belmont) branch. It is located adjacent to Belmont High School, and if you have any trouble finding it on Apple maps like I did, just continue east on Wayne Ave past Belmont High School, take a slight right onto Watervliet Ave and the parking lot entrance is on your right. According to the website, this branch opened in August 2019. They have several different study/meeting spots, including three 4-person rooms, two 2-person 'tutor' rooms and two group study rooms to accommodate 6-8 people. In addition they have various tables and reading areas spread throughout. In the back left corner you will find a 'quiet reading room' with several tables and a few chairs. After spending the morning there, I only had a few qualms. The lightening in the quiet reading room is not the brightest, and if it weren't for the natural light coming in through the windows, the room would be rather dim (thinking at night time or on a cloudy day). Also, there was a pretty annoying consistent clicking sound that appeared to be coming from one of the air vent ducts in the quiet reading room. I ended up moving out into a different area because of it. Overall though, this is a very nice, clean library with several spots to read a book or get some work done.

Like other DML branches, it is clean and well-maintained…read more It has a larger children's and teen's section than some of the other branches, including a teen quad and opportunity space which appears to be geared towards arts and crafts. Reservable spaces include a quad for up to 4 people, group room for up to 8 people, conference room for up to 10 people and large community room for up to 90 people. There's also a quiet reading area with two 4-person tables, two 2-person tables and some reading chairs. Most of these spaces are on the inner portion of the library, so they lack windows. Other than the reservable spaces, there's not a whole lot of other places to sit -- only two other larger tables, one of which is occupied by a community puzzle. Of note, it gets rather cold here so bring a jacket if you plan on staying a while!

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOKSHOP! A unique collection of all sorts of books - fiction (so many…read moregenres), non fiction, children's books, wide range of religious texts and resources, and much more. It was very fun to wander about this shop. Discovering quirky, odd, confusing, stunning, antique, and all the great randomness of reading and learning. The prices of the books ranged almost randomly but I imagine serious research regarding the value of each item was conducted. I limited myself to no more than $10 for an individual book. But still....I made a dent in my wallet. Very friendly staffer who chatted some about what was within the bookshop, where some of the books and other materials came from, and commented upon the collection of wondrous surprises which this lovely reader's dream has acquired. I could have stayed for hours but my funds are limited. Very eager to return!
