I only had a limited amount of time in the area and wanted to find a boutique with locally made artisan pieces from and was lucky to find this one in one of the travel guides at my hotel. I picked up a few different items, a small bird made from re-purposed metal, a lovely necklace, a stylish cell phone holder, and some special sea salt. So much fun. I'll be back for sure the next time I'm in the area!

This is a rescue, rehabilitate and release centre - with their main goal to return the birds and any other creatures they rescue to the wild. There are some that they do not release due to the extent of their injuries. We booked the tour online the day before (this was October so I think we got lucky) and got to see the animals up close with a guide. You can visit the centre anytime during business hours but I highly recommend booking a tour if you can do you can get more behind the scenes time. The tours run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays I believe. The tours are free but they suggest $5 min donation per person. The tour was about 1 hr 15 min but we spent another 1/2 hr in the centre, lots of great information and interactive displays for kids. The volunteers are knowledgeable and kind. A great stop; awesome people doing awesome things for wildlife.

A great place for gifts and I love their selection of cozy sweaters/mittens and hemp wear. It's not just me, I overheard the other customers in the store talking about how much they love this place too! The owners are super friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgable about the products they sell and are eager and willing to answer any questions you have about any item in the store. Came back the next day and bought a Buddha blessing candle, notebook and incense. Will definitely be back to check out what else they'll have on our next visit to Quadra!
