I don't get how this place has been in business for so long. The tacos were decent but it took at least 30 minutes to get our order because they never turned it in to the kitchen or it was given to someone in the drive thru by mistake. The girls working in the front taking orders were young, which is fine. But the supervising staff is not friendly and not kind to their staff. MDT is an old favorite for me. There is nothing better than their American spin on tacos and flat nachos. This quaint little restaurant has been a staple in Del City for many, many years. I remember going there for lunch from the nearby high school back in the early 1970's. The original owner is still making her delicious Mexican creations. Service is quick and they even installed a drive through some years back. Though the parking is sparse it's worth the trip. I have been coming here since the 70's. The food has had a tendency to be good at times and bad at times. If you want to try them at the good times now is the time to go. I had my usual.... 2 taco dogs and a combo burrito with a large Dr. Pepper. The taco dogs were loaded with taco meat and a pile of cheese. The combo burrito was also well filled with taco meat, beans, cheese and there signature sauce. Nice job! I hope you continue to pile on the toppings. Overall grade "A-". See you soon. read more

Been coming here forever! I'm old and grew up in Del City. This has always been a good place to get fast food Mexican. The drive through is always lined up. The best is the Taco burger with plenty of crumbled meat ,cheese, lettuce on a fresh bun! You have to try the flat nacho with peppers! For a change sometimes I do the chili n cheese burrito that you eat with fork. I can't think of anything that's not good. Sweet tea is the best! Small simple place inside and parking is crazy but with new construction behind them I hope parking will be better. Even with this people come again and again. Alot of regulars. Prices great, service good. Oh, and the sauce ! No package to open, pour all you need from bottle that they keep on ice. Give it a try when your in the area. read more

I'm a big advocate in preserving places that have lasted the test of time, and I do dig the nostalgia here. But at the same time, food has to be of a certain quality. Mid Del Taco just isn't all that. Food isn't terrible, but local fast food Tex-Mex chains are out doing them on toppings and flavor. Their much-talked-about ground beef is seasoned alright but it has no moisture and is very fine, the crumbly texture bothers me (and it goes everywhere if you aren't careful). Steak burrito had no flavor, just mostly iceberg lettuce, with too little tough and under seasoned steak. Tacos are also heavy-handed with the shredded lettuce. Basic 'flat nacho' had almost nothing to it, basically one big nacho chip for $1.50. You can add toppings until it is a proper 'tostada' but then the price doubles. Adding green chiles to anything for 30 cents does help, as well as asking for onions (by request only). Salsa is also talked up a lot, but mild is basically ketchup and then there is the spicier version -- still meh. Inside it's cluttered and small, but the pinball machine is a nice touch. It's family owned and operated with friendly workers. Parking is hell, and idiots in their drive-thru often dangerously block the nearest lane of traffic in the street. Another part of our visit was a bit sketchy -- the entire table next to us was deep coughing during Covid like it was absolutely nothing. I do appreciate the value here and community loyalty, and I hate that places like these aren't common anymore. But I was hoping for better considering that local reputation. If your expectations aren't too high, it's not a bad quick option. But I need a bit more. read more

I've been alive for almost 5 decades and this is hands down, some of the worst food I've ever eaten. Friendly employees. Quaint setting. But, oof, I couldn't even finish anything they served me. THAT bad. I thought my high school cafeteria served bad food but this comes really close. OKC has some great Mexican restaurants so it's really amazing that this place is even open. read more

This place has always been a quaint staple in the Mid-Del community. When you're in the mood for the basics, you really can't go wrong here. The menu offers all the essentials for a quick meal. The only very mild complaint one could ever have is that it takes a little longer for them to fill orders than a regular fast food place. If you're not in a rush, you're good to go. Everything is made fresh and they have solid salsa options. Just keep an open mind and try not to be super uppity about waiting a few extra minutes to eat. read more

This was my second try. Maybe a nostalgic place for Del City residence but truly has nothing in terms of authentic and or taste. I'm thinking old bay in the taco meat, a turn off for sure as I wanted mexican not seafood. The salsa was a spicy rendition of under salted ketchup. My fajita had a lot of meat, but the grizzly cuts. It was however warm...and the tortilla was tasty. I recommend and would love to see some recipe changes, to put this small town restaurant back in the good way/spotlight. read more

Everything here is a dollar store version of what Tex mex food is supposed to be. Nothing is fresh it's all canned. The nachos are what you would get at the movies. I really don't know what more to say... awful. read more

If I'm in Dec City and I want tacos or burritos I'm not going anywhere else. The prices are fantastic for the food you get and the food taste incredible. Now, this isn't a fancy restaurant in the least. If it wasn't a building by itself it would be textbook 'hole in the wall' kind of place and it very much has that feel. If I were to choose between any fast food tex-mex and this it would easily be Mid Del taco. The food is greasy and you don't worry about it being squirted out from a meat gun. Service here is almost always amazing as well. The one time I had less than stellar service was when the place was packed with a kids sports team and the crew was slammed. I can forgive that. Head to Sams Club, pick up bulk taco shells, ground meatstuff, shredded cheese, tortillas, and lettuce. Now, just make plain tacos and burritos out of the various combo of the above listed items. They do have some kind of hotdog thing, but I wasn't interested in hotdog Mexican food. The flat nachos, taco burgers, taco dogs, and steak fajita tacos have always been legendary. Today I had a combo burrito, 2 flat nachos with peppers, and a cheese roll up. The combo burrito was a perfect combo of beans and meat and was perfect dipped in the house made hot sauce. The flat nachos with finely chopped peppers were just the right amount of heat and tasty. The cheese roll up was good, but just cheese in a tortilla - just wanted to try. Also, adding their cherry juice to soda is excellent! Shop Local! Good basic and inexpensive Mexi-food. I love their hot sauce. They only make guacamole on Tues/Thurs, so those tend to be busier days and there aren't many tables. My go-to's are taco salad, nachos, tacos and/or taco burger. And, of course, guacamole! You order at the counter and they bring it to you. Friendly staff. For one...it is not a Taqueira....it is a fast food tex mex place. I have eaten here since my childhood. It was named Del Taco then. Home made sauce is great, the meat is not greasy. Love the all you can eat. It is not gourmet mexican food so don't compare it to such. It is true, you pay for refills after your first one, but they only charge 1.25 for the large drink not 1.99 so it is still a bargain. For a cheap taco place it can't be beat. read more

I have always heard of Mid Del Taco, but had never tried it. I found it to be a quiet little eatery in Del City that had a seating capacity of 34 people. The food was priced very well, being one of the few restaurants that you could actually eat at for under $5. The food is not bad and very filling. One thing that bothers me is when restaurants charge for refills on drinks. Del Taco allows you to have one free refill and then you have to pay. I will definetely return for a cheap meal! read more

Food was ok. Tortillas were memorable for a mom and pop but the food overall didn't have much taste. The big turnoff for my family was the obnoxious jukebox that they have in the small dining room, blaring death metal music the entire time we dined in.
