I am a frequent business traveler and fond myself often at Microtel hotels. They are consistent and have a great price point. This is a newer hotel in Jacksonville, North Carolina and offer a great room at a great price point. A few of the many advantages is that there are a lot of restaurants in the area to choose from. The property is convenient to get to. The staff is friendly. One disadvantage is the limited amount of TV channels. All in all, I would recommend here and will stay here again if business brings me here again. read more

Wow, for being very very inexpensive, they absolutely keep this place clean. I was shocked when I came back to my room tonight and it smelled soapy and clean. Everything put away, towels refreshed. Had a small issue with something that was broken, called the front desk, two minutes later maintenance shows up and fixes it quickly. Didn't eat but smelled a pretty good breakfast down in the lobby today. I just really cannot complain, especially at this price point. read more

First and foremost it must be said that Alex is an absolute asset to the establishment and went above and beyond to help me and my family. We had to travel due to a funeral, already a stressful situation. We tried booking online but for some reason the website would not allow us to enter the number of guests (2 adults, 1 child under 2 years old) so I called the hotel directly. This was my first interaction with Alex. She was kind, courteous, and extremely helpful. When we arrived the next evening after a 6 1/2 hour drive she greeted us at the front desk and went above and beyond any expectations we had. In fact, every member of staff we had the pleasure of interacting with were absolute gems! Our room, although on the small side once we set up our son's pack and play for him to sleep in, was absolutely immaculate. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was spotless, we felt comfortable and safe. A huge thank you to Alex and the rest of the staff for making a difficult trip (due to the reason for it) easier on my family. If we return to the area we will definitely be staying here again. read more

I'm sure you hear all the bad comments and little good. But let me tell you the location in Jacksonville, NC on Commerce Rd is TOP NOTCH. We only stayed over night but the staff here made us feel like family. We stayed here on our way to drop our son off to his next schooling with the Marines. They were so accommodating, gave us a late check out, and even after we checked out let us come back and opened a room so our son could change into his uniform. When you do training this needs to be the staff that does the training. Everyone we encountered during our time here has been so welcoming and making sure all of our needs are met. Coffee maker at an eye level for a giant (I'm 5ft1inch) . Plus it didn't work the water boiled and sputtered for 30 minutes, I finally had it removed. The air conditioning system doesn't work, we are roasting up.in here. It's fairly new so maybe they are working out the issues. Otherwise the room is clean. read more

I'm only leaving one star for the original woman that was there behind the desk when I checked in younger, slim, black girl with braids very sweet . I drove 10 hours to this hotel with my children who slept the entire way. This girl behind the desk was very nice. She said my room is not ready yet which was fine because I was there very early so she said that my children could sit in the lobby and watch the TV she even offered them snacks and gave him some toys out of a little toy box. My kids are very small they were sleeping all night so of course they're going to have energy so they're running around and making noise I'm running after that I'm cleaning up behind then I'm one person and I've been up over 24 hours. This large woman with a major attitude appears to tell me my children cannot be running in the lobby. It's a safety issue. I completely understand. I told her I'm gonna get it together . I'm exhausted I've been driving 10 hours. I've been up for 24. She tells me that I don't need to have an attitude oh really that's funny because she started off with the attitude so then she tells me how I need to do a better job parenting . I told her to f*** herself . I didn't yell scream, I said, I calmly In a nice way . So she does what typical Karen's do start getting upset and calling the police. I said that's good. Call the police because I told you to go fuck yourself. She wants me a escorted off the premises. How I'm screaming and yelling at her. (No I wasn't at all, I talk loud) so I told her I wanted to speak to the manager. She said she was the manager. Some manager big tits flopping out of her dress with a hot pink bra straps showing denim moo moo Lmfaoooo real professional . Ok "manager I said no Problem I'm gonna talk to corporate and I'm gonna wait for the police to get here . Police didn't say much at all . all he said was I had to leave because it's up to her as part of the policy which is fine I understand he told me to call corporate tell them what happened. My guess is she's probably a little racist and doesn't like New Yorkers that's the vibe with some of these people down here! Overall it seemed very clean and the staff was friendly. I didn't love it. It felt very humid on the third floor, and there is a strong rose/floral smell in the room. Strong. The walls are very thin, and so I heard the TV on both sides of us and conversations. And there's a lot of traffic noise. If that bothers you, just be aware. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. A solid, affordable choice. Just not my favorite :-) read more

This is a solid affordable motel. Like other microtels, it is predictably clean and utilitarian. The bed is medium firm and I slept well. Not a lot of extras but the cost makes it worth it. Staff are super friendly and check in is blazing fast. read more

This is 4 out of 5 stars. They have a very nice location and everything is within driving distance. The facilities are quaint and a little small, but worth the savings and the pool was a big plus for us brining the 6 yr old. read more

Ms.J in Hospitality is the Nicest Lady you want to meet ! She does the breakfast and she takes Great pride in what she does ,the selection is wonderful she thought of everything even Turkey sausage which a lot of places lack. I am absolutely blown away with this 2 star hotel. I am used to staying in hotels that are way more expensive and have a lot more amenities. Lastnight, I literally was just needing somewhere to sleep that was clean and safe. I saw that this place had a rating of 8.8 on Hotels.com and it was only $59.00. Seriously. $59.00. Is that even a thing?? I was very scared to book it but I did anyway based on reviews. The exterior looked pretty new and it is behind my favorite sushi restaurant in Jacksonville, Wasabi. There is an outside pool that was too cold to use right now but that is a nice feature. I had a small room that I am assuming was handicap accessible due to the huge bathroom. The doors did not have a lm automatic opener and that was kinda disappointing. The office clerk was very nice and the lobby was nothing for the eyes but clean. The building had a decent smell and the elevator was clean. My room was set up so cute and they even had Matrix shampoo Products. That is better quality than some of the other higher end hotels I have been to. The room was immaculately clean. It had a desk, a little nook that you could lay in front of the window and the bed was very comfy. I slept like a baby. I highly recommend this place if you need a very inexpensive, clean, safe place in Jville. read more

The first room I got put in, the carpet was soaking wet and smelled like mildew. They said the AC busted and gave me a new room. Someone had urinated on the bed and there was still a wet backside shaped print on top of the comforter. The third room seemed okay, until I realized how much of a gap there was around the door, and I realized I was having trouble breathing. I found the mold in the bathroom around the air vent. I checked out early and asked the manager to call me for at least a partial refund of the time I did spend there. They never have, and I'm not surprised since the front desk staff referred to guests that complain as pains in the ***, and this was TO MY FACE, and said multiple times, along with "We aren't the Ritz- if you want a five star hotel, go elsewhere." The gap around d the door let in every noise from the hall, every smell of smoke of all kinds, every door slam. It was a nightmare. read more

This is one of the only hotels in Jacksonville that doesn't look nasty. It's new and the inside looks so great. Single rooms are small, but if you're just staying for the night who cares? It's an affordable option and I'll definitely look for Microtels from now on when I travel. My only tip is not to be on the first floor. We got the room right by the front desk and we could hear everything, especially when people got up for breakfast. Super nice place but gets loud if you aren't placed in a room away from the lobby. read more

Stayed here last minute after leaving the red roof inn. We came down from Massachusetts, and after a long drive we arrived at the red roof inn and it was horrible... so we found the Microtel and went inside to see if they had a room available. Alex, "Ali", was working and got us a room. She was super nice and even let us look at the room before booking. She made our experience very easy, and the room was super clean. Saw a dozen roaches in the first 2 days of staying here. My legs are ate up with bed bug bites & everything's so poorly cleaned. DO NOT waste your money here! my wife and i made reservations online for one night stay , when we arrived to check in we were notified for first time that the motel policy was to require $150 dollar deposit that we paid because at that point we had just came off interstate and were wore out and didn't really have any option at that point Am bothered by the fact we were " not " informed of ahead of time Of required deposit. Deposit is not the issue but the way we was surprised with it . And our understanding was that our account would be credited for deposit amount in 24 to 48 hours after checkout . Well guess what !? still no deposit refund In our account several days later. Rooms were depending on your expectations fairly clean , staff were very pleasant, there was some loud talking and engine revving in parking lot at night but wasn't too terribly bothersome over all stay was ok for a one nighter . The issue of deposit is very frustrating most definitely will avoid the aggravation next trip and look elsewhere for room. read more
