But, Movies N Stuff actually had Bedknobs & Broomsticks. It is pretty crammed with shelves inside, so you should find what you were looking for. They also rent video games and sell movie posters, which is pretty cool. The prices are great too. They had a deal for older flicks - $1.99, which is better than most places.

They also still hold on to hundreds of VHS titles, often because they're rare movies that are difficult or impossible to get on DVD. The price of new releases and old releases are basically the same ($5), which makes this place fairly expensive for renting old movies. They only accept cash and still don't use a computer system. However, the staff are very knowledgeable and can usually be counted on to find a movie for you in the store if you're having trouble. My only big criticism is the staff can border on pretentious from time to time. I've often found when I ask them for suggestions and I explicitly outline the type of movie I'm looking for, they tend to recommend movies they think I "should" like and not what I'm actually asking for.

But what grossed me out the most was the fact that after I came out of the store I had a gross film of some type of dirt on my hand from touching the toys. barf. The woman approached me and in a snooty tone asked if I wanted to buy anything, and then proceeded to talk on the phone (not business related) for 10 minutes when I actually found something I wanted, she ignored me and I just ended up walking out. Black squirrel is a used (with some new) and very carefully curated bookstore with two levels of exploring to do. At the front of the shop is an espresso bar that offers lots of tasty treats and alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. I got a oat milk cappuccino and a small chocolate mint cookie. The cookie was only 1$ and so tasty, like an elevated and adult girl guide cookie!! Excellent prices and kind service. This will be my new go to when I have some time in Ottawa South.
