When we finally were able to connect with him, he had no updates regarding a timeline, said that he was too busy to respond to texts, adamantly stated that he would not be refunding any money and aggressely stated that we hadn't right to tell him how to run his business. I'm left with the job undone, out money and his "business manager" stating that they are willing to discuss a reasonable resolution in this platform. How are we going to discuss when you hung up and don't respond to messages or calls? The lack of communication and aggressive response is appalling. A quick text to say I don't have the material yet, or I'm looking at next week would've been sufficient. I agree with others here who mention horrible customer service and aggressive behavior. The responses that they are open to discussion clearly not true as we have yet to receive contact after hanging up on me. You have our contact information. You refused to discuss and hung up. We have proof in lack of responses, outgoing calls etc. Edit: 3 weeks later and they never reached out for any resolution. We competed the job better ourselves.

The next day when he arrived to apply the finish, he claimed that the order only came with 1 gallon of finish+hardener. So he dropped it off and left. I asked when he could get the other gallon. He said he didn't know. The next day, I texted asking if he was able to get another gallon sent. He didn't respond. The next day I left a voicemail asking the same question with no response. The next day I gave him the benefit of the doubt with no response. On the fourth day, my wife called from a different number and left a message about a job. He returned that call and when she asked about the job that he didn't finish, he became very upset. He claimed that he is very busy and that he dropped off 1 gallon. We said 1 gallon cost $250 and 1 day of labor cost $720/2 = $360. He then really started arguing about how we can't determine his labor costs. He said he hadn't recouped his costs. It's pretty simple math. 1 day of labor at $360 and 1 gallon of finish worth $250 for a total of $610 not $900. We asked for a refund of $290. He refused and said we had no right to tell him how to run his business. We asked why he didn't respond to my text or voicemail. He hung up. So if you decide that you want him to do the job, don't pay for anything that hasn't been completed or delivered. He is not trustworthy.

While he was there to provide the quote, he noticed the kitchen floor was really cold (he took off his shoes when he entered the house). He pulled out his thermal camera and we saw the floor was 30-40F! I had noticed that area of the kitchen was cold in winter, but didn't realize it was coming from the floor, where kitchen is cantilevered out past the foundation wall. He proposed insulating the cantilevered area with spray foam, and then said he could insulate all the rim joists in the basement for the same price. A week or so later, while he was onsite doing the insulating, I mentioned I was going to finish the basement later in the year, and expected to use 3 inch foam panels. He suggested using spray foam instead since that would give me a few inches more space in the room. He gave me a price and I said I'd think about it. As I thought about it, I realized getting a few more inches in the room, and also getting a better sealing product would be worth it, and would save me many hours of labor and a lot of material costs. In summer, I started work on the basement project, and once I had the framing up and electrical roughed in, I called (now July) to schedule the spray foam. Randy honored the price from January, scheduled the job quickly, and it looks great! Something I especially appreciate about Randy and Paragon is that the guy who quotes the job actually does the job; it's not some sales guy, it's the owner who quotes AND does the work! Because of that, any questions get answered and you know exactly who is accountable for quality and completion. I did get other quotes for the attic, and Paragon was very competitive.
