I have used Micro Macro Mundo/Rocousa on and off for approximately 20 years. They have always treated me well and with respect. Last week I placed an order for model train cars and after a few days I noticed they had not shipped. I called the shop and they informed me the items were no longer in stock but they were trying to get them from elsewhere. Cutting a long story short I cancelled the order and ordered something else in its place. They refunded my money before I even got off the phone with them. Within 30 minutes of placing the new order, I got an email saying the item was in the process of being shipped. The man I spoke with was kind, he listened, he thanked me and was great. First time visiting Micro Macro Mundo in Kendall and definitely the last. There were two employees present, and we dealt with the bald gentleman, who unfortunately had zero customer service skills. Not a single item in the store had a visible price tag. When we asked about pricing, we were told to look it up ourselves on their website by typing in the item numbers. (Seriously?) While on the site, I noticed they had a 4th of July sale going on. When I asked the employee about it and other basic questions, he seemed visibly annoyed and irritated. Also important to note: even though Yelp says this store is wheelchair accessible, it's absolutely not. Our son uses a manual wheelchair and had a hard time maneuvering through the aisles. I honestly don't see how a power chair could even get through the narrow entry area let alone the narrow turns in some of the isles. My husband and I have visited hobby shops all over the U.S. because he loves model car building, and this is the only one we'll never return to. Businesses thrive on customer relationships, and people remember how you make them feel. If you want to feel welcomed, respected, or even acknowledged, stay away from this place. read more

This model store has a fantastic selection of static and remote control kits. It is really a great selection of kits. Prices are very good

First time coming to the store, and never going back. First of all, I barely stepped foot in the store and got yelled at to stay 6 feet apart.. I know that already, you also have signs up. We were not greeted, just yelled at. On top of that, the owner, as he yelled to stay 6 feet apart, had 2 customers following him that were definitely 1 foot apart from him. The hypocrisy. Secondly, his staff watched my partner and I like a hawk, as if we were going to steal something. I also really did not like that there are no prices on anything. It makes me wonder if he makes up prices on the spot to see how uneducated you are in these hobbies. Terrible customer service. I placed an order and got a response that my order was canceled "for one of the following reasons " and then listed 5 different reasons. Worst customer service ever!!! Mr. William, who apparently is the owner of the store, is a despot, with bad manners who is only interested in money. He treats store employees like slaves, yells at them and humiliates them in front of everyone. He even lacks respect towards customers. He has no sense of decency or education. In the store, no product has the visible price, you always have to be asking the employees and that is a problem because it creates misunderstandings and wasted time. This is a great store. When I went in there to buy a model train the old man who helped me was very nice and even gave me a free European plug-in with my train set. They had an awesome selection with very reasonable prices, comparable to the best online deals. When I got back to Europe my daughter loved the train and she still loves it. read more

Will not order from them again. It has been a while but in May I ordered two sets of N scale Preiser models. I got one set and was charged full shipping of 5 dollars and handling of 58 cents. It was mailed USPS in a tiny envelope. I called and was told the second set was out of stock and back ordered and the shipping charge will cover the second shipment. Finally 3 months later, I emailed. He responded that the the 5.58 on the 11.83 set of characters only covered that set and there was no history of of a pending back order. So the website is padded with merchandise that says out of stock that he never apparently intends to stock, then he overcharges in shipping charges and makes a bundle. The Best place to go for Gunpla! They probably have the largest selection of Gunpla from the original Universal century to build divers! From HG to PG there's something for everyone in gunpla. While the shop is large and has a great selection of models, the friendly atmosphere is non existent. First they have the door locked now so you have to knock to have them let you in. I almost left after a 40 minute drive thinking they were closed. Second, they have an guy that just follows you around the entire time you are in there. It's creepy and makes you cringe. They have signs everywhere that say no photos allowed and half the store is roped off so you cannot have access. The old man at the front is not friendly at all. It takes like 10 minutes to get checked out even for a few items. The store needs new management desperately. read more

My experience was good at the store, which its small but have a very variety of products doesn't have the price tag on but are the same as you look online. I was looking for a train for my little girl and they help me all the time thru the time of making the payment. The service was mostly fine. We were looking for small motors for robotics, but they really only had motors specifically designed for model and RC cars. I think most of what they had was for cars, model boats, planes, and trains. My biggest concern is that nothing had a price tag on it, so for every item we had to ask someone to look up the price. This store looks good upon entrance, it's appears well stocked. The problem is the old man who works there. I went looking for a part for a quadcopter i bought online, he asked where I had purchased the quad and began a tirade on how I bought online to save money and now I come to his store and expect him to have spent money stocking items and parts. I want to report a most positive experience at MicroMacroMundo at Christmastime! The man who met me at the store door was very friendly and knowledgeable about our LGB train which is about 27 years old. I told him the issues of the smoker and the whistle not working. He immediately went to work on it right infront of me! I thought he would say ok call me in 2 weeks and I'll give you an update! He stayed with it until both were fixed ! It was amazing ! I could see how his electrical engineering mind went to work ! His assistant was equally as polite and professional. It's all right. I started going in there because they started carrying gunpla. For years we would be at the card game store that was behind his shop and every time we would walk into the shop just to take a look at things we would be grunted at by a less than friendly elderly gentleman who runs the store. Even though I found a new reason to come into the store and have spent quite a bit of money the gentleman it's still as stubborn as ever and now I'm in my thirties. When I was smaller he would shoo was out the door and now I spend money and I can't even get the guy to crack a smile or even greet me when I walk in. The store is Dusty the prices are fair at times though I just purchased 6 pipettes for $6 and I felt a little robbed. I am thankful that there is a gunpla store in Miami but I feel like improvements can be made in customer service because the prices are occasionally marked up and I'd be more happy to support if it was just a friendly or atmosphere when I walk in. I feel like the only individual that really cares about it is the guy that works in the back but I feel he has less to say about the direction of the company than anybody else. at times I'm forced to go online and I really don't want to because I love supporting my local stores but at the same time this store sometimes just doesn't feel like it's going to get any better than what it is. they've entered into a market that is easily grab my attention but at the same time they can improve and they haven't since I was a teenager in the 90s. read more

I discovered this place by searching for an RC Monster Truck online. I decided to go with a truck they carry but didn't buy it from them. I bought it from another retailer online who had it for a better price. However, they are very close to where I live so I have visited the store for other things. Their store is well laid out, extremely neat and orderly and has a good selection of RC Cars/Trucks as well as parts. They also carry train kits and cover a decent amount of other hobbies. If you live close it is worth a visit. I'm giving them a 5-Star rating because the times I have visited, I was given great customer service. Both times I visited the store I dealt with a gentleman named Eddy. If you happen to go, just ask for him, he's nice, knowledgeable and will answer all your questions. He helped me with choosing a brush for Gundam paneling and some paint (I'm new to the hobby). Overall both my visits to the store were positive. I guess it's because I went there for something rather simple. I will probably go back to purchase more paint and brushes for the reason that they have a good selection for those items. read more

Went to pick it up and they wouldn't let me in the isle!!!! They said it was for online orders only... If you have a retail store, why is half the store not open to the public? Very upsetting. As a online source for N scale model railroad structures, scenery, and figures I find Micro Macro Mundo to be hard to beat both price wise and variety of stock on hand. Their Preiser figure prices are the best I've found and that includes the prices I've seen from even E-bay Germany! Their shipping of merchandise is fast and their communication and attention to detail is very good. They have been considerate in all my dealings with them. Their Website/online store is very well done and they keep up with their online inventory as to what is actually in stock or not consistently. Having visited a few times and enjoying my experience, I can't say the same after today's shopping experience. After looking through which project to start next, I decided on the Merit German Flak 88mm kit. I was happy with the price of the kit which is listed on their website and after requesting their pricing in person at the store, I decided to purchase the kit. During the checkout process, the owner proceeded to open the kit and look through, showing signs of regret for verifying the ~$40-50 price. He then began to look up the kit online and told me cannot sell me the kit until the following day. I was told the kit was found online for roughly ~$200 dollars and that he cannot sell the kit. I find this to be extremely poor business practice as both the website and internal pricing in the store has the kit listed at one price yet inform the customer that they will be charged a different considerably higher price at CHECKOUT. Unfortunately, I am incredibly upset as I ultimately decided on that model and my respect for this establishment has severely been diminished. read more

As an online customer I have made good and bad experiences over more than 15 years by now. Micro Macro Mundo has always been tops. This is one of three model railroad dealers on the planet I buy from, they are that good. The other two are in Germany and Japan. They have great prices for N-Scale model railroad trains and accessories, and at times there are catches that make me wonder how they do it. Shipping has always been 100% next business day and super reliable, as long as I specify U.S. Postal Service, because in our area Fedex just dumps anything at the door when nobody is there to receive and watch it, or I have to drive 15 miles to get it. I have also talked to them by phone, and the owner and staff are very nice. I read here they have 1/2 the store blocked off. Well, I can see that, as there is an inventory thing going with any online store, and I bet that is how they survive these days, when so many hobby stores have disappeared. So if I ever get to Florida, I'll stop by, but won't complain about an open warehouse portion of the store that may be blocked from access. In return I have saved a lot of money, and gotten several Minitrix trains over the years that were literally sold out anywhere else on the planet! I for one am quite happy, especially compared to another place in Chicago-Land that will charge your card without notice when a back-order comes in and has other nasty streaks to it. Micro Macro Mundo called me first when something finally came from the factory again after many months, so I never had a surprise charge on my card, and I also never had to pay and then wait for a year for delivery.
