I cannot say enough great things about this shop! They have one of the largest inventory of accessories I have ever seen in a bow shop, and that's especially important as a left hand shooter. Michiana Archery shares a building with the "Pop Shop" and "Michiana Darts and Billiards".  The staff is friendly and greeted us upon entrance.  They have a wonderful selection of products and the staff asked if thry could help us find something. I come from a family of hunters (thry use bows and guns) and I myself loved archery at camp growing up and used to do target practice in my spare time.  I was pointed in the right direction and was told all about the archery range and the lessons they provide.  They are also home to Notre Dame Archery Club and the Indiana University at South Bend archery club. I love small specialty shops and this is a great one.  Definitely stop by if you love archery and are in the area. Also, fyi, bathroom is for customers only. read more

The staff was less than knowledgeable and the owner was rather rude and conceited. The individual cutting my arrows asked me how to do it. Not quite the reassurance you want when you're ordering quality, expensive arrows. Furthermore when I asked if there was someone available to tune my bow, the individual working said he didn't know much about compound bows so he couldn't help me. I ordered custom arrows and was told it would be a week or less before the wraps and vanes came in. After waiting over three weeks and not hearing anything, I called back and the owner was less than pleasant saying I should have called back sooner. I started going to Michiana Archery about 2 years ago when I first purchased my Bow and was getting back into Hunting and Archery . I was sold a bow by a gentleman who was fired from the company and was pushing me in a direction I did not want to go . After returning to the business on multiple occasions because my bow was not firing correctly the team fixed and tweaked it a bunch of times but every time i returned home there was another issue. Each time I went back there was also a different employee as well which may speak about there knowledge and staff turn over. After many frustrating trips and honestly giving up on the Bow I went to Niles Ground Zero Archery just a few mutinies up and had one of the best experiences learning and being informed about my bow. The first thing the gentleman said when I walked into ground zero is that he sees a lot of the style Bow I purchased from Michiana come to there shop for tweaks and repairs. After only spending an hour with Ground Zero Archery they had my Bow shooting perfect and confidently. He also mentioned that Michiana Archery has a high commission rate on the specific Bow they sold me which makes sense why they pushed me in that direction and that employee is no longer with them. In all if you want the right support and the right equipment do NOT go to this business go to Ground Zero a few minutes away. read more

I stumbled upon Michiana Archery while looking for a good date night idea for me and the Mr. For as long as I've known him, he's said he wanted to get a bow and arrow (without any type of experience using said bow and arrow, but he's a guy so...). I went to the website and called to take a class. I mentioned what day might work best and they were super flexible and accommodating. I will admit, I was not super excited about spending my day going all Hunger Games, but I sucked it up for my guy. It's located in an unsuspecting building, right before you reach the state line. When we got there, we signed our waivers and were assigned an instructor. He explained everything from the structure of the bow to all safety concerns you could possibly have. Then it was time to test our skills. Not to toot my own horn, but my inner Katniss definitely came out. The owner even introduced himself and took pictures of my target to post on their Facebook page. I'm practically famous. They took time out to explain the different types of bows and some of the changes they are making in the shop. It really did turn out to be a great date idea. They start classes at 6 years-old, they bring in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts for archery badges, they host birthday parties, and you can either rent time/equipment to practice, or buy a membership. Went in to get a D Loop tied on my bow string. Two very younger adults working in the business and had no idea how to do it. After over 45 minutes of watching this kid google and YouTube how to do it, I told him I would like my bow so I can leave. Not impressed at all. He also tried to keep the bow and figure it out so I could come back and get it. Not very knowledgeable and would absolutely NOT recommend this archery shop if you are a bow hunter and need simple work done. read more

My neighbor friend and I purchased a instructional session combined with an ample amount of shooting time. The facility was top notch. The instructor was very knowledgeable and patient with us. He stressed safety on the range and homed our technique during the hour that we shot. We had a great experience. I gotta say that I'm impressed. I took in an old hand-carved longbow that I found at my grandparent's house when my grandmother passed. My father seemed to think there was a good chance that my great-grandfather could have actually made the bow himself. My intention was to get it strung and find out if there was anything I needed to do in order to prepare it before shooting. Henry could have just "made the sale" and sent me on my way. Instead he explained to me that this bow was one I probably didn't want to shoot seeing as how it had at least some sentimental value and there was a chance it could be damaged in the process. Even after talking me out of handing over some cash he took the time to answer questions and teach me a bit about the bow. I'll definitely be visiting their indoor range for some lessons the next time I find myself with nothing to do on a rainy day. read more

Michiana Archery has displayed the best customer service of ANY business in ANY industry that I've ever seen. They offered me a very competitive price trade-in on my bow. Got me set up with a new Mathews VXR 31.5 and answered the many, many questions I had. The guys working the shop in the back were extremely knowledgeable and weren't just trying to make a sale or have you buy the most expensive part in stock. These guys are truly incredible. Wonderful people and super helpful. The bow selection is good and the knowledge of the staff is beyond expectations. I suspect there aren't many archery places in the country as great as this place. I've gotten to know several of the employees and they have each helped me and my son. They do junior Olympic training and all the prices are reasonable. 5/5 and definitely recommend. We came in from Seattle to visit family and my niece arranged for a bunch of us to have an introductory archery lesson. First, all of the staff are friendly and funny. Henry is an AMAZING instructor. He's super funny and approachable, beyond patient, but at the same time an absolute stickler for safety and proper form. We learned SO much in such a short amount of time! Henry's enthusiasm and humor was really infectious - all of us were bit by the archery bug, and our only complaint was that we couldn't stay there all night! Henry and the rest of the staff really have things set up so that anyone - no matter how old, experienced, knowledgeable - can step in and have a successful experience.
