Bursting with creativity, it's a safe space for getting experimental, whether you're chopping off a few precious inches or looking for the most perfect blonde highlights. Finding a salon and a hairstylist is like dating: you have to play the field a bit, get together a couple of times, weigh your options, and ultimately decide whether they're worth settling down for. It's exhausting, but once you meet the one, there's no turning back. Lucky for me, the stylist I visit, Meghan, is a wizard, and hasn't let me down since. In fact, I doubt any of the stylists here let their clients down, because they're all just so awesome and talented; Sanctuary Salon is basically like a revolving door of killer hair where you never leave without feeling like a million bucks. (a million-hair?) Today, I arrived for my 3:30 pm appointment, and the place was poppin' for a Wednesday afternoon! Known for its incredibly cool team of stylists and colorists, the salon has made a name for itself, and since I see a stylist whose Instagram handle is @alittlemoreblonde ("A Little More Blonde"), I know I'm in good hands when it comes to my blonde hair (give her a follow to check out her work!). Meghan manages to give me not what I requested, but something even better. It's always glossy, pretty, and doesn't look too 'try-hardy.' She's also tuned in with the best of hair-color technology, as it seems Sanctuary's team of stylists frequently hosts or attends continuing education events (I know this bc I peep their social media, duh.) Best of all, the hair color and highlights she gives me always grow out like a dream; there's no harsh line of demarcation, and people compliment me on my color even months later. Today I left with a really great transitional "fall blonde," with my locks showing off a super nice, dimensional-yet-subtle ombré that is a new look for me, so I'm pumped to rock it out this season. I never leave without booking my next appointment, and I already can't wait to for my Holiday 2019 glow up. Abby was my stylist and carefully listened to what I wanted and I showed her pictures of my own hair when I've liked how it's been done before. I really struggle with finding a place where I like the cut and any color I've gotten so I was nervous. Abby really delivered on giving me a super natural looking color with some dimension from the highlights in a warm blonde/copper. The placement of the highlights was perfect and it didn't look striped or unnatural. Just blended and very pretty whether I wore my hair curly or straightened it. I paid for my second visit a few months later. I got a cut/trim and had it re-toned with a bit more copper/light brown. My hair looked and felt great! The color from last time had grown/faded so nicely. The cut didn't take too much length but got rid of the split ends so my hair actually grew in a noticeable way. My mom is going to switch to this salon instead of her regular place because of how nice my hair has looked, the results of other customer's that she saw in the salon, and the atmosphere. I can't believe this place doesn't have a lot of reviews but they have only been open a year. If you are looking for a modern but relaxed salon with a variety of different stylists to choose from, I'd highly recommend you try it here. I'm so so picky about my hair to the point where I'd rather go a year without getting it cut or colored vs getting it done somewhere I'm not too sure about. (Yes this has happened). I've had some really unpleasant salon experiences in this area. Salon 1533 is unlike any other salon I've been to. They use a variety of quality brands of hair products, have knowledgeable stylists that actually listen, and this allows you to actually relax.

She then offered to do my hair for $80.00 and said that she was adding it on her book, I never once insisted that she had to honor anything nor did I say anything about her having to take my appointment. She even went as far as telling me direction on how to get to her suit. Then this morning the day of my appointment at 1:43 she messaged me accusing me of taking advantage of her. The new place is very modern yet cozy inside and the attention is completely personal and you're not waiting forever between appointments inside.
