Chelsea has been doing my hair for over 7 years-she is the most accommodating, whether coming in early or staying late (or even coming in on her day off!) to work with my schedule. She is a color master-She's made me able to rock every color from dark brown to platinum blonde. My hair and my confidence is so greatful for her talent! Everything from the essential oil diffuser to the tea and flavored water on demand to the thoughtful coffee table books (which I actually liked one of them so much, I ended up buying one for myself!) to the scalp massage-OMG! Whether you're looking for a blowout for a night on the town, an up-do for an event, quick trim, professional color or hair care 9-1-1! This is 100% the salon for you! I was in desperate need of an eyebrow wax. My previous place, also well known in the area,…read morecouldn't get me in for three days. After noticing their sponsorship of a local blog I like (Alloveralbany.com) I decided to give Giorgio's the Salon a try. I was nervous--it's always scary trying a new place--but when I called, the receptionist was very sweet. She told me to stop in right away, they could take me any time that afternoon. I walked in feeling nervous, but was greeted sweetly by Giorgio and Tommy, and before I knew it I had beautiful brows and was feeling refreshed. Giorgio, Tommy and their customers create a friendly atmosphere with a casual banter that is charming and welcoming. The space itself is lovely. I enjoyed the decor, which has clean lines and some flair, but isn't trying-too-hard-trendy. All of this wouldn't be reason enough to return if the services were not what I was looking for, but have no fear there! Tommy is gentle, quick and artistic. I've never had a painless eyebrow wax before, and my sensitive skin sometimes reacts badly, but there were no problems this time! Giorgio's is where excellent technique and friendly customer service meet. I feel like a regular already! Another customer was getting a color treatment and raving about the results. I would trust my hair to Giorgio's in an instant. I came in stressed and apprehensive, I left with a hug, a prettier face, and a feeling of happiness and well-being. Who knew an eyebrow wax could do all that? Give them a try when your overbooked, overcrowded regular place is full, I'll bet you won't go back! Thanks for another great find, alloveralbany.com !

I don't judge your orientation, but I'm your customer. Don't flirt with me.

This is not a fancy themed ultramodern hair salon, it has more of a quaint saratogian feel about it, with eclectic mix of antiques and modern elements. I found Peripeteia on Yelp and discovering that they have online booking and had availability for one of the mornings I'd be there, I booked the appointment. My appointment was with Heidi who is an absolute delight. I had a hard time finding the spot and was therefore a couple minutes late, when I called for directions she was very patient and kind with my slight tardiness. When I got to the salon (which is right across the street from a parking garage--if you pass the garage, you've gone too far!), Heidi greeted me warmly. I showed her the pics of what I was hoping for both cut and color and she nailed it on both fronts. I splurged on an extra conditioning treatment and I'm so glad I did. It left my hair feeling like silk. She did well at explaining what she was doing and how I could style my hair going forward. Honestly, I haven't had such a good experience since my last trip to Boise (where I have an amazing stylist as well). Definitely adding A Peripeteia Salon to my list of must-stops when I'm in the area. Get to it!
