Up until I moved to another state, 4 years ago, Michelle had been doing my hair for about 25 years. I've been back to Michelle several times since then, as I look for a great hair stylist in my area. When I go down to NJ, usually for just 2-3 days, I make sure I have a scheduled appointment with Michelle! People always compliment me on my hair--even when I think it must look a mess. It just always looks good. So easy for me to take care of--by my standards. She will only give you a cut that you're willing to maintain. After reading the other reviews, I'm not the only one who has been with Michelle a long time, and who considers her a trusted, gifted friend of the family. I know others who feel the same about Michelle; we'd see each other from time to time, when our appointments aligned. Michelle trained our daughter to be her receptionist when she was in high school, and it was a pivotal learning experience for our daughter. Michelle has done that with boys and girls of clients whose children would like a job to learn customer service. Besides the great cuts, Michelle has fine-tuned an experience of delight for me, each time, without fail, whether she's the only one there or whether she has other staff around. The salon is warmly engaging, comfortable, and beautiful. There are local artisans' works to purchase, wall art, jewelry, only the best soaps, candles and--especially--crystals! Michelle has been cutting my hair and my mothers for what seems like forever! So when it came to my big wedding day there is no else I would have trusted to make sure my hair and my mom's was perfect! When I first went for my trial she took her time to understand what I had been picturing but also made sure my hair didn't look like all the pictures I brought. I remember her telling me how she would make sure I still looked like me but that my hair style would be one of kind. On the big day when I started to become nervous, and I think she could hear it my voice, Michelle remained calm and took her time. I had a very fussy beaded crown that I still don't know how she did it, was placed perfectly on the first try! Needless to say but she did an absolute amazing job. Spent an hour in there, spent 50.00 more than I usually spend- had to listen to her prattle on and on about how she was drawn to cutting hair over the years- and received by far the worst, most unflattering hair cut I've ever gotten. Michelle did my hair for my wedding 10 years ago. I moved back to the east coast from LA and did not have anyone to cut my hair. I decided to go see her again when I was visiting family in the NJ area. I loved my haircut so much. It was so refreshing!! She did an excellent job to make my hair look new and fresh. I've followed Michelle for at least 20 years. I travel 45 minutes to get to her Flemington salon. She is always fun talk with as she cuts my hair. Every time she asks how the last cut was and asks if I want changes. She's done my hair for special occasions, highlighted my hair and has changed my styles over the years. She uses all natural products and sells them there. The salon is welcoming. The receptionist takes my coat and serves me tea if I want it. I go just to relax! read more

I love Michelle. I've been going to her for 12 years. I don't trust anyone else with my hair. At times, I've lived more than 45 minutes away, but it's worth the drive. When the day arrived I sat in the chair with great expectation First , Michelle discussed with me at length about my hair type , my struggles , what result did I want from my hair cut . I told Michelle That I wanted a cut that would fall naturally into a style with little effort on my part . The "cut " was everything to me . Then Michelle went to work . After my cut Michelle accomplished what I thought had been the impossible . My hair now had a "style", more fullness and body all due to Michelle's precision skill . I have thinning hair due to medication and had my hair ruined at at different salon with a bad color and cut. My husband found Michelle for me and she has been wonderful in helping me while my hair is trying to grow in. She has been understanding of my low self esteem issue due to my hair being so different than I am used to. She has styled it for me several times and it has come out great. We are using Velcro rollers to avoid using heat from a curling iron. I am still in the learning process with the rollers and hope I will be able to make it look as great as she does.
