God forbid you have a question about the medication your doctor just prescribed you, good luck getting an answer. The front desk staff will put you through to the medical assistants voicemail which says they'll call you back within "72 hours" which apparently in medical terminology means "never". This has happened to me on 3 separate occasions now. Moral of the story: if you have a simple question for your nurse or doctor, just make an appointment for that day. That's the only way you'll get an answer. Extremely frustrating!

The whole time I was speaking with the Dr. I felt like she was hassled by the fact she had to be there. I would not recommend this place to anyone who identifies as lgbt+

My mother spoke so highly of her and swore if anyone could help me, it would be Sara. I walked into my first appointment feeling so overwhelmed and I left feeling like a complete idiot, only because I had not gone in to see her sooner. I felt silly for being so overwhelmed, not because she minimized my problems, but because she made me feel like I could finally start managing them. She's incredible. I've been through so many different health care providers, and she is one of a kind. She truly listens to you, she truly cares, and if you have any health concerns she's going to get to the bottom of it, almost as though she takes it on as a personal challenge and will not be defeated. She is your biggest champion and advocate. If she can't sleep, she goes down rabbit holes reading about how to solve problems for her patients. She does that shit in her free time, and it shows. She's absolutely brilliant, kind, and going to the doctor has never been more of a delight. I have now been a patient of hers for almost two years, and she has absolutely turned my life around for the better. Her husband and co owner is also wonderful, and together they make quite the dynamic duo. She's a busy woman with lots of patients, children of her own, etc., but if you need her, she will absolutely make the time for you, and that is a quality unfortunately uncommon in the healthcare industry. On a scale of 1-10, she's an 11.

My specific injury was severe, my surgery didn't go specifically as planned and it was labeled as an emergency surgery. I wasn't given the option to wait due to the possibility of further injury, which looking back, I am grateful that the surgeon decided on this. Living in Kodiak, I had to fly back and forth for all appointments and the staff at Apex was SO helpful with this. The interior of their office is beautiful and welcoming and everyone there was always so warm and nurturing, which meant a lot to me since I was truly nervous and in pain. Unfortunately, I had to spend a lot more time here than I originally expected, but couldn't have asked for a better overall experience based on the staff and the precision of Dr. Miller.

His surgery was unexpected & insurance didn't cover the entire amount. We made payment arrangements and adhered to them. They sent us to collection after promising they would not. I called and they rescinded and I continued to pay. They offered to reduce the remaining balance by 50% if I would pay in full by a certain date. I agreed (who wouldn't?). THEN, when my son's attorney called to get the remaining balance owed, instead of saying "no, they made arrangements, it's zero", they tried to say we owed the previous remaining balance! When I called, they tried to say it was because my last payment was outstanding. Ridiculous! The payment would have processed well before my attorney could cut a check! AVOID this place! This business preys on patients, they took clients from a prominent doctor knowing that her care…read moredidn't align with their office standards. They waited just past 3yrs for her to retire and patients to be unable to easily transition back to their previous provider to tell the patients that their plan of care would be changing vastly once she left the practice. I wish i could just say they don't care about their patients and if it was just that alone, I'd be resolute in the fact that it's better that we separated to go our separate ways. HOWEVER, that's not the only issue here, it apparently the office manager has taken it upon herself to breach hipaa laws and patient privacy because she's sharing with other pain management specialists her "unprofessional opinion" on specific patients and whether she feels they're a "problem patient or not" even when there's no documentation in file to suggest otherwise. So in the very near future a lawsuit is likely to follow, and from the similarities other patients have shared ... it might end up being a class action suit. It takes a lot of gaul and moral irresponsibility to speak on people who don't have an active ROI... Recently 3 of 5 pain management clinics have been refusing to serve this patient after having just stated they have openings and accept the insurance. They enquired about previous pain doctors and Alpenglow was only named, but no ROI or paperwork was completed to give a reason for them to come back ready to run in the opposite direction, unwilling to do procedures or medications. So far two have employees willing to admit that negative comments that were shared... so there's that... When you see this clinic, don't just walk in the opposite direction, RUN! Because when it's good, it's fine, but the moment there is a problem, it becomes nasty quick. And the unethical behaviors we've experienced are astounding, and seem to target patients who have an emotional response to bad news, ex. start crying, or try explaining through tears the situation they're facing in their plan of care, or whether they feel supported or not. The other targets are people who refused to take medications prescribed to them that had adverse physical effects. Before you know it, you're looking for a new provider and that's about the only thing i can appreciate is that the people who have terminated or been terminated are at least lucky to be out of there with a better chance for responsible care.
